I Like ItI Don’t Like It
Andrew Sullivan On The Clintons

The Times Of London:

It's alive! We thought it might be over but some of us never dared fully believe it. Last week was like one of those moments in a horror movie when the worst terror recedes, the screen goes blank and then reopens on green fields or a lover's tender embrace. Drained but still naive audiences breathe a collective sigh of relief. The plot twists have all been resolved; the threat is gone; the quiet spreads. And then . . .

Put your own movie analogy in here. Glenn Close in the bathtub in Fatal Attraction - whoosh! she's back at your throat! - has often occurred to me when covering the Clintons these many years. The Oscars host Jon Stewart compares them to a Terminator: the kind that is splattered into a million tiny droplets of vaporised metal . . . only to pool together spontaneously and charge back at you unfazed.

The Clintons have always had a touch of the zombies about them: unkillable, they move relentlessly forward, propelled by a bloodlust for Republicans or uppity Democrats who dare to question their supremacy. You can't escape; you can't hide; and you can't win. And these days, in the kinetic pace of the YouTube campaign, they are like the new 28 Days Later zombies. They come at you really quickly, like bats out of hell. Or Ohio, anyway.

Now all this may seem a little melodramatic. Perhaps it is. Objectively, an accomplished senator won a couple of races - one by a mere 3% - against another senator in a presidential campaign. One senator is still mathematically unbeatable. But that will never capture the emotional toll that the Clintons continue to take on some of us. I'm not kidding. I woke up in a cold sweat early last Wednesday. There have been moments this past week when I have felt physically ill at the thought of that pair returning to power.

Many are starting to wake up to the Hillary Hoax, her false resume, her false positions, her track record of utter failure with Health care, and her disgusting bid for power in this race. Not to mention the fall of Bill Clinton's image as party father. Just watch the returns.

In case anyone's forgotten, Sullivan was a foaming-at-the-mouth cheerleader for George W. Bush and the invasion of Iraq and has been scurrying around, searching for absolution and a new identity, ever since the occupation promptly began to fall apart. He's also waxed all gooey about torture, ignoring the fact that he avidly supported the thugs doing the torturing.

In other words, he's a sniveling hypocrite, and his latching onto Obama is just the newest costume in his conversion wardrobe. If it requires this sort of toxic attack on the Clintons, Andrew's up to the challenge.

Sorry, Andy. Ya' hafta dance with the one who brung ya'. You may fool some of the newbies, some of the time...

Very appropriate title.

The clintons combine the worst of Sybil and the NIghtmare on Elm Street.

I, for one, can't wait until these horrid people are banished from the American political landscape after costing the Democrats their best chance to recapture the presidency.

I always find Andrew Sullivan interesting. Not so much for the fact that that he's so right, ecause it almost never really matters. I recall how wonderfully republican he used to be..yuck. But it's interesting that he's practically made a journalistic career of changing his mind with every new insight he reads in someone elses book or speech that really sways him. It's not exactly flip flopping, it's just sort of a reaction like a barometer of how the suave ought to think. It's almost always stuff that somehow he thinks is clever and he makes me believe it's a good idea to know why, but I really wonder if he understands it himself. Anyhow, thanks for bringing us his views. I wonder what the next one will be?

Is this Andrew Sullivan sick in the head or what?

How can all these creepy Andrew Sullivan, Tucker Carlson, Keith Oberman, Anderson Cooper's ... non stop Hillary bashers be allowed to be labeled journalists? When you see Anderson Cooper, laughing with glee (aka last night) because the Obama pundit... kept pounding on Hillary.. and deliberately cutting any pro Hillary points off as quickly as possible - it's past sickening. It's become frightening that overtly biased - announcers like this are even on the air!! They have made a mockery of the job they hold and in turn have made a mockery of the American people - and have taken it upon themselves - to deliberately misinform the voter; and have the nerve to laugh about it!

I see no reason to comment meaningfully about an Andrew Sullivan opinion. I only wish he would take pack up his own weary tent. He has gone from shrill and holier-than-thou (and wildly dead wrong in his support of Bushness over the years, the most crucial years when it was all building)...to more mainstream and sedate as he has accepted more traditional religion and settled into a marriage of sorts (no criticism, just no knowledge of it either way). Mostly though, he remains immature and vain...and undeserving of a wide public voice. Can anyone do this?

What I don't get is if FL and MI broke the rules and are now stripped of their delegates then why aren't the total delegates needed reduced from 2025 to whatever it would be to subtract MI and FL from that total? Obviously you can't reach 2025 without MI and FL so why not just subtract their totals! Why isn't this simple thing done? FL =210 and MI =128 so combined there would be 338. Since 2025 is half the delegates, simply divide 338 by half and you get 169. Subtract 169 from 2025 and you get 1856. That is the new threshold or at least it should be. The DNC simply forgot to modify the total since the overall delegate tally was changed because of the rule breakers.

There's no way I can take Andrew Sullivan or anything he has to say seriously. He actively supported and voted for Bush. TWICE!! As a gay person, he's an embarrassment. All he ever comes up with is clever and sharped tongue criticisms that are hateful in tone. Most gay/lesbian people find him offensive and hardly supportive of anything that would help the gay/lesbian communities anywhere. His sexism regarding women is quite well known. That's usually his major form of attack, especially when he's on Bill Mahr's Sexist Comedy Hour. He's another people, especially women, are getting sick of and no longer watching.

It isn't surprising to me that their base consists of the less educated among us. They prey on ignorance.

candlewax:

Did you know that the majority of self made billionaires did not attend college? And, given the caliber of pro Obama posts, (the supposed college educated) one has to either assume US colleges and universities are grossly inept in English and grammar - or - that the much touted Obama 'college educated' supporters - seem to have great difficulty with comprehension - reading and writing.

If it had been Obama who had lost 11 straight primary/caucuses everyone under the sun would have been pushing for him to drop out, but with HRC they let her stay in and play a little longer, what is up with that. She is not what this country needs. She is coming a clueless as the shrub that is currently in office. Let's call it a wrap and send her home.

We can write all day an night and critize any and all of the candidates...........the fact is that the American voters keep electing these individuals, and after, like before, constantly keep critizing. Doesn't say much for us as a society. Politicans have no idea on how to run a country; run a nation; have no understanding about business practices of the government...and I could go on and on; however they are "masters" at getting elected and re-elected..........and every couple of years he American public falls for the same political advertisements. Then again, when 2 percent of population controls 60% of the wealth.....who do you think is running America?

I share Andrew Sullivan's sense of nausea. Nausea at the Clintons and the possibility they may succeed at conniving to steal the nomination from Barack Obama thus robbing us of the unique opportunity to elect a great president. The gutless MSM is playing the Clinton's grotesque horror film as the ultimate reality tv entertainment. Just when I thought they could not stoop any lower, the manage to do it.

Obama's camped called the 3 am add fear mongering then copied the add and put his name on it? He obviously doesn't mean what he says.
Hillary Clinton has raised 138 million Obama has raised 141. Both outstanding performances.
To win the Democratic nomination you have to reach 2025. Not get more or get closer but reach the number 2025. So being ahead in pledged delegates means nothing unless you get to 2025. When you count all the votes Hillary is ahead in popular vote.
Obama did not put his name on the Michigan ballot. Why not? No one told him to take it off. Another example of his inexperience in politics.
In Florida his name was on the ballot and he ran a commericial there when they had all agreed not to campaign there. Why does he want to win by not counting all the votes?
Someone should do a story on the idiots in the DNC that caused this problem in the first place.
I for one will not for a man who takes his American Pin off to protest war when I put that American pin on to support my son in the 82nd airborne and many other soldiers. His prime supporter John Kerry voted to not send our troops the equipment they needed after he sent them to War and parents were trying to find a way to send things themselves. Does Obama feel the same way?
Obama claims he isn't negative but yet he launched the first punch with the walmart remark and has run negative adds and spoken negatively about Clinton many times. His supporters call her a monster.
His wife wrote a thesis in college on the white race. She's never been proud of our country until now. I've always been proud of my country. Maybe disappointed a few times but always proud.
And finally. He's friends with a known American terrorist Ayers who bombed the pentagon, a police station and in 2001 said he wished they would have bombed more who got off on a technicality because the FBI messed up the investigation. His admitted friend Farekahn says whites are skunks and hates Jews. Obama's minister thinks this Farekahn is a great man. And then there's his friend Rezco a known Chicago slum lord. And then the lie about Nafta. Come on people. The facts are the facts.

Andrew Sullivan pans the Clintons: dog bites man. I'm no fan of the Clintons; indeed, there is much to fault them for, but this is written by someone who recently, hopefully tongue in cheek, averred that British males voted for his all time fave, Maggie Thatcher, because they were spanked as children. I believe Clinton voters might be faulted for remembering peace breaking out in many of the trouble spots of the world, boom times, a greater public inclusiveness for diversity, police on the streets, stripped down federal bureacracy, and federal surpluses, not nearly so kinky an excuse as child abuse.
.
Like him I am an Obama man, but Andrew Sullivan comes to grips with the horrific reality imposed upon the nation and the world by conservatism initiated by Goldwater and institutionalized by Reagan--now that would be more in man bites dog category.

Where is that great Hillaryland video when you need it?
Little did we know, it was so completely right on the money.

I love this bullshit about her now wanting Obama as a running mate?
Why? According to her, he is a muslim, inexperienced and has not crossed the commander in chief threshold like her and her real running mate McCain.
