Bill Clinton On Joint Ticket

Reuters:

Hillary and Bill Clinton are again teaming up on Barack Obama -- this time saying the first-term U.S. lawmaker, whom they have derided as inexperienced, would be a strong running mate on a Democratic presidential ticket headed by the former first lady.

In talking up a joint ticket, the Clintons may be seeking the upper hand, attempting to put her in consideration for the top of the ticket when she so far has failed to win the votes necessary to assure that she would face Republican presidential candidate John McCain in the November election.

The maneuver may also be aimed at countering an image in voters' minds of Obama as presidential material and at helping restore an aura of inevitability as the party's nominee that Clinton had early in the campaign but lost.

"The Clintons are in a difficult position," said Dennis Goldford, a political science professor at Drake University in Iowa, who has tracked the presidential race.

This is just unbelievable. Yet again, evidence that Hillary believes that she is entitled to the nomination. She will never get my vote, no matter who is on the ticket.

Folks. It's over. Senator Clinton can't win. Nothing else matters. Remember this.

Isn't this a little like telling someone leading an Olympic event and who is clearly going to finish with the lead that they should simply stop everything and accept the silver medal?

This is so insulting to Obama and the 52% of voters who have supported him so far. Hello Clintons: you have to be in the lead to be talking about VPs - their arrogance is never ending.

this story has already been covered in at least two other threads.

having said that- you wish, Billary. This is their same spin that started back when Bill called himself The Comeback Kid when he came in SECOND in New Hampshire. They figure if they keep saying it enough we'll be hypnotised into assuming Hill will be on the ticket in some way. She's not going to be on the ticket in the lead spot because the party elders are too smart not to give it to Obama since he'll have most wins, more delegates and most popular vote- and she's not going to be in the second spot cause Obama knows that putting the name Clinton on the ticket is just red meat to the Republican machine.

The Hillary people have been at this "narrative" for several days now. Indeed they are trying to "hypnotize" through repetition of this mantra. They are essentially framing the narrative around this election at the moment. Obama needs to come out and take the reins. Daschle and the rest of Obama's surrogates need to "out" this tactic for the cynical manuveuring that it is.

Actually, I read that Bill's spoke in great depth about an "unstoppable" Clinton/Obama ticket at a Mississippi rally.
Oh,dear... looks like Bill's begun inhaling...

Where's the beef on this? What a piece of junk journalism. It may well be true, that the Clintons are "talking this up," but I didn't see one quote attributed to either one of the Dynastic Duo, nor were there any statements attributed to campaign spokespeople.

Well thank you. Perhaps Huffpo should have posted that instead of this piece of fluff.

Wiggelsworth - where's the beef????!! If you can be bothered to open your eyes you'll see more beef then you know what to do with! Are you Clinton supporters going to deny even this?? There is no controversy here: Hillary said it about 8 times on wednesday on every morning show in the country, and Bill said it in stump speeches in Wyoming and Mississippi. It's on freakin' video - all you gotta do is turn your TV on, or read a paper - its only been in the news every day for almost a week....

I meant where is the substance to this crappy piece of writing, you twerp.

And how you can assume that I am a Clinton supporter, is beyond me.
I am undecided, and as such, am reading as much as I can about the candidates.

But your hysterical reaction did show where some of the beef is: between your ears.
