McCain Won't Release Medical Records

Along with his signature bright white hair, the most striking aspects of Senator John McCain's physical appearance are his puffy left cheek and the scar that runs down the back of his neck.

The marks are cosmetic reminders of the melanoma surgery he underwent in August 2000. Mr. McCain, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, sometimes tells audiences that he has "more scars than Frankenstein."...

...In 1999, during Mr. McCain's first race for president, he gave the public an extraordinary look at his medical history -- 1,500 pages of medical and psychiatric records that were amassed as part of a United States Navy project to gauge the health of former prisoners of war. This reporter, who is a physician, interviewed the senator's doctors in 1999 with his permission.

But this time around, Mr. McCain has yet to make his full medical records or his physicians available to reporters. At least three times since March 2007, campaign officials have told The New York Times that they would provide the detailed information about his current state of health, but they have not done so. The campaign now says it expects to release the information in April.

The blog Beertap at http://beertap.wordpress.com has started a petition requesting John McCain's medical records. Sign it! I did. Why is he stalling. Last time he released them a whole year ahead of the election. There's only six months left to this one and he's refused to release them so far.

Why should he? Why does he want the world to know that his melanoma has metastasized to his brain?

Not hateful, but a common result after incidents with melanoma, so it is a reasonable question to ask. I am not hoping for a case of brain cancer -- as a presidential candidate he needs to demonstrate that his health is worthy of his position.

With all due respect to Senator McCain, considering his recent failure to control his temper and reports of that being an ongoing issue for him, he may not be the person we want as our President. I am in awe of his survival of 5 1/2 years in as a POW during the Viet Nam war. One can only imagine the horrors, fears and stress that trauma visited upon him. I sincerely applaud and honor his service to our country then, and in the years hence. However, I would only ask if any us could survive such an ordeal with no residual or serious mental health challenges? Unpredictable anger, extreme self-righteousness and, an apparent, 'my way or the highway' outlook is not one to normally be desired in the leader of the free world. We only need look to the current Mr. G.W. Bush to appreciate the destructive outcome of that mind set. The coming Presidential Election could be the most important one in the history of our country. Let's think very carefully about placing another loose cannon on our decks in November. We all need to pay attention here.

He'll release them before Hill releases her tax info,, which is pathetic. Now that McCain is the GOP nominee, he truly is in no hurry and should there be cause for concern, the closer to November it becomes public the better for Democrats.

Hill on the other hand has chosen to keep fighting for the Dem nomination so she should should come completely clean now. There's a whole five weeks between Mississippi and Pennsylvania primaries so she can take one day off from campaigning and show that the voting public matters more than the gamesmanship of secrecy.

My uncle had face cancer, not as nearly seriouse I would think as Mccain----------at age 75 he started to go down hill pretty fast, and found that cancer invaded inside, and not just out. by the end of the year he was gone. My husband sister visited the doc regular, and they didn't catch her cancer in time, and when they did she was gone in 6 months of the announcement. My step mom was found with caner last winter and was gone by summer. I do not think we should Elect any person who has any form of cancer at all. It just means another upset-----in terrorist times, and a economical crisis. We can't afford to take such a chance. also with this , comes termendouse amout of worry and stress. Mccain need to be on top of his game every second, and thinking of our nation and it;s trouble ----------not fighting cancer or thinking of the return of cancer or the pain of age and the demention that age cause's in the memory of all people that age. While I respect the man and believe he's a true War hero I would not vote for him. As a Republican, I have jumped ship to vote for Obama------after reading www.judicialwatch.orgch.org.hillarywatch.shtml , I simply could not in ernest vot for Mrs. Clinton as muchas being a woman, I would have like to make history for our gender. But our Country comes first over my party or my gender---simple as that!

McCain and Ron Paul should both come clean on their poor health. Especially Ron Paul, who seems to has brain cancer from the things he says about evolution and that the government is the problem itself, not the assholes currently running it.

This is getting ever the more mysterious to me. I should really like to know, me too, how this "delegate process" works. Is this a way as could overcome the smear-and-blackout process of the MSM and the backseat-wirepullers of the real, hidden government in the USA?

I'm glad the melanoma and other health issues are finally being addressed. Like the Clinton's hidden finances, it's been the elephant in the room all year.

So psychiatric records were released in 1999? I'm curious about his anger management issues. Did any of that come up then? Because, from what Republican colleagues are saying, it isn't a new issue for him.

Did the psychiatrists feel he was stable enough to be President?

=============

No, of course not!

That's why McBush doesn't want his medical records to be released, because if he does, then Americans do NOT want him to answer the 3 AM phone call.

But we don't need to see those medical records to believe this guy is actually insane.

Hillary and McCain are the Bobsey Twins in more ways than one. She won't release the Clintons' financials records and he won't release his medical records. Just what the American public needs: zip accountability and transparency in the candidates.

It 's about time someone addressed that huge lump on the left side of his jaw/face. It is huge. And the media acts as if it is not there. WTF is it?

What is the status of his health and what the heck is that lump?

Here's a scenario of a horror film.

McCain gets elected president, and chooses Jeb Bush as veep. McCain passes away and another bush becomes president. Damn, that's scary!!

“With melanoma, a patient is never completely clear,” said Dr. Shapiro, the N.Y.U. expert. So-o-o we can expect to Johnny Boy to have more of the same? I can't wait until 11/08.

It's hard to believe that he would run for president if he knew he was dying, or not dying but just not physically strong enough, or something along these lines. I don't like him, I never have; but I just can't see him doing something like that.
