Two weeks after "bitch is the new black," and just one week after Hillary Clinton's surprise appearance on the show, SNL is at it again: this time, opening the show with a spoof of Hillary's 3AM ad. The sketch, seen below, depicts a 3AM phone call between Senator Clinton and a very inexperienced President Obama, who calls Hillary in the middle of the night for advice on what to do about Iran and how to fix the heating in the White House.

Watch:

I was insulted by this ad on 2 levels. 1st as an Obama supporter. Unlike the "writers" at SNL I actually pay attention to the man when he speaks and he is more articulate, intouch, and stable than Hillary. The real sad part is that people watch this buffoonery and form a political opinion based on a CLEARLY Racist SNL sketch. 2nd I was offended as a Black male. To characterize Obama as a Sambo ignoramus to Hillary Clinton's character struck a nerve. I gave the Sambo Obama character a pass in previous weeks, because they never had him say much. But when they finally get him to speak, this was what they came up with? Crying in the middle of the night all shaking and googley eyed like an old Amos and Andy Character? SNL has never been known for intelligent black characters. Constantly perpetuating stereotypes: see Eddie Murphy's Buckwheat, Tim Meadow's Ladies Man, or anything featuring Chris Rock on SNL. But this was over the top offensive.

Ya'll need to grow a sense of humor. This was clearly a smack to HRC and not a cut on Obama. They were making fun of the absurdity of her commercial and upping the ante. This is how comedy works folks.

It was very funny. Not complimentary to either but very, very funny. We were taking bets in my family, which includes supporters for all three candidates from both parties, as to whether the MSM would be clipping outakes from that one. Nope. Too close to the bone for that crowd. Clinton was Obama's senate mentor, he copied her entire platform, hired all her old workers first, and now the comedians have figured out how he works. Funny, very funny.

As a big Obama supporter, I was happy to see SNL run this skit. It was mocking Hillary...portraying her ad and her as ridiculous and desperate. Obama was portrayed so pathetically (by Hillary)....that you are left with the impression that it is NOTHING like him.

that was their point........and i got it....but maybe most are left with the opposite impression.

Plus the line of the night delivered by head writer Seth Myers on weekend update was a direct, gleeful slam at Hillary. Something like....."If you are supposed to ready on day one....why has it taken you 31 primaries to say you are "just getting warmed up."

I'm shocked at how many didn't get the point of the skit. It was a good night for the show, with two or three funny sketches (superhero getting punched out, and girls night out at the bar).

The point is lost that this is a parody of a Clinton ad meant to skewer Clinton's perception of herself - almost as if that was an afterthought to skewering Obama and his experience.

Poor writing.

Do you not see the satire? The "unfair and deceptive dramatization" that Amy leads into the sketch with? They are taking Clinton's 3am ad and expounding on how absurd it is. Comedy rule #34: extreme=comedy gold?

Also, wtf is with the racism thing? You can't be serious.

PS. yes, I am a hillary supporter....duh

Did anyone else get the impression that they were trying for a comedic image of Barack Obama frantically talking to a white-faced Clinton surrogate. Waay down upon the Swaaaneee Riverrrr! True satire requires a deft touch. Sledgehammers are a poor choice of tool when plying a delicate craft. I'm done with SNL.

Lighten up for heavens sake. Times our tough and it doesn't hurt to have some humour.

I feel sorry for people with no sense of humour - what a dull and depressing life it must be for them.

Do you not have a remote? Don't like it - turn to something else.

While the producer of SNL can carry water for Hillary: the racist depiction of Obama is dirty politics at it's worst. Clinton should denouce this conduct from a major supporter. NBC should be ashamed.

I was watching and it go so bad, distasteful, I finally turned it off. It made Hillary look bad, but Obama even worse, and frankly I think they went way to far with this. Their ratings have gone up so they keep running this crap, shame on them, and Hillary too.

The MSM is still running that fricking add on the 3AM phone call, this is free advertising for Hillary, she hardly run it or pay for it, they just keep showing it.

Please get this woman out of here, America can't take this crap anymore, its time to get down to business and fix our Country, not for amusement but for the people. Its bad enough we have 316 days left of asshole in Chief, whom has destroyed everything our Country has ever stood for.

Then we have discussions about a fricking SNL skit, this just shows we have lost our moral compass along with the Government.

"Shame on them"
It is a comedy show, shame on anyone who has an issue with something that from its onset is not meant to be taken a gospel.

Unfortunately, it appears this is the only level that the great majority of Americans are receptive to information about the responsible choices they have to make.

SNL is performing a great service counter-balancing the free publicity that Oprah brings for Obama.

Their charicature of Obama is actually pretty much on target.

Keep this great artistic work coming. America needs you now, SNL!

Lets be honest:The propellant behind all of these sketches is strident Tina Fey's unabashed love for all things Hillary and the gullible media's requited love of an echo chamber, which often passes as real reporting nowadays. SNL has been on ratings life-support for awhile and creatively bankrupt since Jimmy Fallon started "breaking up" during the sketches--maybe even longer. What better news for the wheezing, ineffectual Saturday night staple to become RELEVANT AGAIN!

First off Fey is no longer with SNL.
Lorne Michaels is the only propellant.
Why is it everyone forgets the first political sketch they did during this election season was the halloween sketch.
Obama came as himself, "because I am comfortable with myself" - a direct shot at Clinton.
Throughout the sketch everyone keeps telling Hillary she has a great witch costume on, but she is supposed to be dressed as a bride. - a direct shot at Clinton.

Where was all the outrage from Clinton supporters?
The screams of sexism?

Enough people, stop seeing what you want to see if that is at all possible.

Dear NBC,

What is the difference between SNL's skit of "Obama in Blackface" and the Don Imus situation in which you acted so forcefully. I know that the basketball team is made up of a group of innocent girls not looking to do anything but good, so thats worse, but the SNL skit was not far behind. Obama's inexperience is fair game as is Hillary"s bitchiness, but does anyone believe that Obama is an idiot who just happened to be a former President of the Harvard Law Review. The writers are obviously too close to it. SNL likes Hillary, I get it. Tina Fey made that clear prior to Super Tuesday. But satire cant be used as an excuse for open air racism. Get a grip NBC. You are over the line.

The number of Obama supporters here who have apparently missed the entire point of this (anti-Hillary) sketch is absolutely frightening. If you can't even comprehend a simple thing like irony, how on earth can anyone buy your judgments about the merits of the candidates? You are edging far too closely to the level of paranoia demonstrated by the Clinton campaign if you think this is actually attacking Obama.

Wow, I stopped watching SNL after the second week's endorsement of Hillary. Glad to know I made the right choice by not watching.

-later in the show there was ONE joke pointed at Hillary--reporting on the Ohio/Texas primaries Hillary-Seth Myers reported about how Hillary said "I am just warming up!" to which he commented--"HMM, how you going to be 'ready on day one" when you are just warming up after 31 primaries?!"

The audience applause sounded to my ears like "YES. FINALLY something approaching reality based satire."

-and again given the desire to have a grain of truth--Obama is chastised by Clinton for sweraing?!!?? From what we can gather from inside sources Shrillary swears enough to make a drunken sailor uncomfortable...really sad SNL...shilling for da man...
