SNL Spoofs Hillary's 3AM Ad

Two weeks after "bitch is the new black," and just one week after Hillary Clinton's surprise appearance on the show, SNL is at it again: this time, opening the show with a spoof of Hillary's 3AM ad. The sketch, seen below, depicts a 3AM phone call between Senator Clinton and a very inexperienced President Obama, who calls Hillary in the middle of the night for advice on what to do about Iran and how to fix the heating in the White House.

Okay, people? This sketch is making fun of HILLARY CLINTON, not Obama!!! Did any of you watch it?!

It starts off with "I'm Hillary Clinton and I approved this unfair and deceptive message." The rest is a dramatization of what SNL is saying Hillary would like people to THINK would happen if it were Obama having to answer the phone. It's taking the 3 AM phone call ad to a silly and ridiculous extreme as a means of satire and parody. They're MOCKING her! Watch it again!

This was a refreshing break after 2 straight weeks of running to her defense. I appluad them.

I must be one of the few HuffPo regulars who saw the ad as a not-too-funny take on Hillary's assertion that Obama is not "qualified" to be commander-in-chief. By playing up on that observation, they took it to the nth level of absurdity but apparently their effort flew right over Obama supporters heads.

I know a few men who have panic attacks. This skit rang true for me. I don't think Obama is not the kind of man willing to get his hands dirty.
Any tension could unglue him.

SNL has been irrelevant for more than 20 years at least. so now they do a couple sketches that mock a pompous, politician and the hordes revolt. it is to laugh.

this is not in the least bit funny. SNL hasn't made me laugh in a very long time. i don' t get it, they have pretty decent comedic actors but the writing S*CKS!

I do not see this as racist. I think the sketch fails because there is no basis for the portrayal of Obama. The whole thing is bizarre. I couldn't tell if the sketch was trying to nail Obama for being an empty suit or if it was truly subversive and slamming the whole premise of the Clinton 3AM ad. Seems like they are trying to sit on the fence, and they aren't suceeding on either side.

If anyone thinks this was a skit that was against Obama is out of their mind. What I got out of it, as a Clinton support, was how ridiculous her attack against him was. Not to mention the fact that it went after her experience claim by telling him how to fix the heat.

I thought his campaign was about Hope and Change not trying to censor a comedy show. Maybe we should all wake up to the double speak Sen. Obama is selling.

First of all, if that happened, Hillary would have to hand the phone to Bill. The only thing she knows is how to hold a photo op as First Lady in Northern Island and discuss teapots. The fact that she thinks that this passes as 'experience,' that it had something to do with negotiating the North Ireland peace treaty ,and passes the threshold to be Commander in Chief points to just how unqualified she is to take any call at 3:00 a.m let alone be President.
