Pelosi: Dream Ticket "Impossible" After Clinton's Commander In Chief Statements

Via Politico:

Nancy Pelosi tells Boston TV that a Clinton-Obama or Obama-Clinton ticket is "impossible."

"I think that the Clinton administration has fairly ruled that out by proclaiming that Senator McCain would be a better Commander in Chief than Obama. I think that either way is impossible," she said.

Also: "Nothing ever resolves itself -- it has to be resolved by some outside forces," she said.

Not sure what to think about Nancy's comment. She has really been a disappointment as Speaker of the House. No gumption to follow the will of the voters and follow through with the promises she made to the American People in '06. So, she is saying that Obama is damaged goods by what Hillary said about McCain being qualified to be president. Why did she refer to the CLinton campaign as the Clinton Administration. Why does she not have the nerve to do something about the train wreck the Democratic Primary is in? It is over for both of the democratic nominees-neither will win against the Republican Party. At this point, the Dems are going to lose the chance for the presidency thanks to the incompetency of the DNC, the old party hacks and the Clintons nasty, nasty selfishness to be in power-they do not care about the Democratic Party.

I'm not quite sure what to think when i hear a person say they're dissapointed with the 110th. congress and particularly the Speaker of the House. What in the hell do they expect? With very few, and limited options available, considering the circumstances, all the particulars involved, in a situation like Iraq. The spin that the other side puts on everything, the bias, the fear spreaders. The next time you want to break it off in Congress,,, remember this;,,, The easiest problems to solve are someone elses, the other persons problems, we can solve them all day long. This advise really serves one well if applied to politics. I have to dissagree with you on your interpretation of Obama being damaged goods. I don't think thats what anyone ment at all. Democrats are mostly just regular, ordinary people. If their's one thing i've learned from plain regular folks its this; they get knocked around maybe even kicked when they're down, but, they get right back up again and again and again.

LOL. If I were Nancy Pelosi, I would worry less about the candidates, and more about my effectiveness as Speaker. I would be rethinking the many bad decisions I had made since becoming Speaker, and how to be a more effective Speaker.

Nancy has her own work to do, and if I (as the first woman Speaker) had made a total hash of my job, I would be keeping my nose where it belonged-in the House.

Don't forget the junior senator who jumped into the race before he was ready and got everyone fired up along racial and gender lines.

I think the day he threw in his hat was the day the party was officially finished. I wonder if that is what Obama's donors had in mind all along.

Alimo,

Pelosi was never going to be able to "follow the will of the voters" The Democratic Party used the Iraq War as a political tool to gain seats, not to stop the war. That as you can see is fact.

you are right on the DNC being a mess, the Florida/Michigan debacle could cost the Democrats the presidency, unless the current runner up concedes before it comes down to whether or not to seat those two states. It just proves the party can't run a primary let alone the election.

Im a conservative who will vote for Obama in the general election unless the mess continues to the convention. I which case I'll vote McCain. Clinton will take the whole party down with her if she doesn't get the nomination. Thats how badly she want this. If the part can't prove to her its bad for her to stay, well then the democrats don't deserve the white house

Wow I never thought I would write this about Pelosi, as I don't think she has ball busted the Bushites, and repubs enough.

I think she is actually is wise in this regards, Hillary has painted Barack with such a bad hue that, if she did take him as VP or vise versa the Hillary supporters would break away support for her. They would be confused as to why she would accept what they think as such an inferior candidate. She painted this picture so now she has to live with it. I think the dems are truly lost I see a breakup of the DNC, and DLC this august.

Hillary talking out of both sides of her mouth should be enough for any level headed person to abandon her now. With or without asking Obama to be her V.P. in the general. Hopefully the next few states left to vote have been following her recent disreputable behavior.

Enough said? Kennedy was an inexperienced president who almost started WW3 twice! MLK was never president and Obama, well he doesn't stand a chance without Hillary's endorsement and Hillary's supporters may not vote for Obama even if Hillary does endorse him. I won't and I'm 52 and have voted as a democrat since I was 18. I guess I'm an Independent now. I hope you folks like McCain, because he's the next P.O.T.U.S., and stop blaming Hillary for everything. You folks read like a Fox News show. You hate Hillary, yeah, we get it.

Oh puleeeeeeaassee!!! He is not even close to those two. What has he ever done, to be ranked with JFK and MLK?????? Give a few rosey speeches??? It takes a hell of alot more than that to be in the same league as JFK or MLK. But you are probably too young to know that. Obama takes advantage of the young people's ignorance of recent US history. JFK and MLK are raised to such heights by their ACTIONS, not their words alone. All I see from obama are words with little or no action.

Thank you for offering this up to us old-timers who don't easily find these videos! At a time when our economy is so bad, when people are losing jobs, gas prices are sky-high, and homes are being foreclosed at a rapid rate, ALL of us need a dose of optimism to retain our sanity when times are bad. There is NOTHING more powerful than banding together FOR something, especially something so good. We've had 7+ years of fear, war and more war - only Barack Obama has the judgment and wisdom to propel us to a better place. I hope the superdelegates will thoughtfully consider throwing their support at today's front-runner who gives us tremendous hope for the future and offers us a leader who can get the job done - Barack Obama.

Florida House Dems kills revote
by kos
Tue Mar 11, 2008 at 09:09:04 PM PDT
No redo in Florida.

"We are committed to working with the DNC, the Florida State Democratic party, our Democratic leaders in Florida, and our two candidates to reach an expedited solution that ensures our 210 delegates are seated. Our House delegation is opposed to a mail-in campaign or any redo of any kind.”

Here's how you seat them -- you cut them in half for breaking the rules, like the GOP did, and then you assign them 50/50 each to Obama and Clinton. Presto! Issue solved.

Would work with Michigan, too.

States and future candidates need to know that the rules will be enforced. If they are not, there's no way we can enforce a new calendar without New Hampshire and Iowa at the head. They'll break the rules, and candidates fearful that the results will count will have no choice but to campaign, defeating the purpose of the new calendar.

Anyone who wants our primary calendar reformed can't possibly allow Michigan and Florida to be seated as is.

Agreed.

The Dems need to split the votes in half and then move on to the remaining primaries. Having anything run into the Summer months is nothing short of totally ridiculous.

It would be a sham to have it any other way, as these two states would be the first of many wishing to be first. It would be a debacle beyond comparison. The DNC needs to stop the race to be first. A 50-50 split of the delegates is the only manner in which to resolve this issue, unless none of these delegates are seated or allowed at the convention.

Nancy Pelosi is a lightweight political opportunist and an idiot. She's a big part of the reason why the Dems get nothing done in Washington and her and a substantial portion of some of the other dead weight need to be jettisoned in the next election cycle.

Nearly everybody that supports the "dream ticket" will vote democratic no matter who the candidate is, whereas the those that are against the dream ticket are unlikely to vote for the opposition and may be offended by the dream ticket. I think a more important question is to look at who the people against the dream ticket want the ticket to be as those are more likely the voters you need to reach.

Seems to me that the 'dream ticket' would be one that puts the one who wins the most primary votes at the top of the ticket. Anything that would leapfrog the Clintons to the top even though they were behind in the vote counts is my idea of a nightmare ticket.

Any sign that the narcissistic Clintons were willing to abide by some kind of rules (ANY kind of rules ) would be a welcome change.

What she said on more than one news conference was. I have experience and John McCain has experience, Sen. Obama gave a speech in 2002.

So I ask you is that endoring the other party's candidate over the candidate in your own party? This coming after the Texas debate in which she was honored to be sitting new to Obama.
The fact that 3 Journalists commented on it on two separate well respected news sources, CNN, and MSNBC. I guess, Nancy Pelosi is also losing her mind?

I 'm sorry I must be losing my hearing and eyesight.

Hillary has turned the dream ticket into a nightmare with her outrageous remarks about McCain being more qualified to be Commander In Chief than Obama. Not only did she denigrate Obama, she betrayed the Democratic party. Because of Hillary's remarks, Obama can't even consider her for his vice-presidential running mate and she can't campaign for Obama in the general election. Why would she campaign for someone she considers inferior to McCain? Clinton has provided the best future TV ad for the Republicans in the general election when it's Obama vs. McCain.

Hillary's statements suggests that if she doesn't win the nomination, she will campaign for McCain.
