Mccains Spiritual Guide

Mother Jones:

Senator John McCain hailed as a spiritual adviser an Ohio megachurch pastor who has called upon Christians to wage a "war" against the "false religion" of Islam with the aim of destroying it.

On February 26, McCain appeared at a campaign rally in Cincinnati with the Reverend Rod Parsley of the World Harvest Church of Columbus, a supersize Pentecostal institution that features a 5,200-seat sanctuary, a television studio (where Parsley tapes a weekly show), and a 122,000-square-foot Ministry Activity Center. That day, a week before the Ohio primary, Parsley praised the Republican presidential front-runner as a "strong, true, consistent conservative." The endorsement was important for McCain, who at the time was trying to put an end to the lingering challenge from former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee, a favorite among Christian evangelicals. A politically influential figure in Ohio, Parsley could also play a key role in McCain's effort to win this bellwether state in the general election. McCain, with Parsley by his side at the Cincinnati rally, called the evangelical minister a "spiritual guide."

Be very, very scared of this man. He's even more delusional than our president, and to think people would want someone like this is hard to believe.

If mccain has any moral integrity left . . . he will distance himself from this nutter . . . but I fear he has none . . . . freedom of religion is guaranteed by the Constitution . . .and there is nothing wrong with Islam . . . if not for Islam Western society would be much poorer .. it kept medicine alive during the Middle Ages . . and that is just one thing . .. and let's not forget our Arabic numerals we use them every day . . . 1, 2, 3, etc

the irony of course is that Islam, Christianity and Juadism all worship the same god and all trace their roots to Abraham . . . the only thing ministers of this ilk do is inflame intolerance and war . . . they are sick twisted individuals who care nothing about freedom of the individual, freedom to worship . . . they want a flock of go alongers who do not take indiviudal responsibility for their lives but who just conveniently follow the herd . . . this is the opposite of democracy . . .

Really? Obama's spiritual leader wants to destroy America.

Well maybe Obamdiots and Olberman should watch this video from ABC News.

http://abcnews.go.com/Video/playerIndex?id=4443230

Now will Olberman make his 'state of his union with Obama speech' and what is he going to say?

Obama should apologize to all Americans!

My friends, I'll do anything to get elected. If it means starting the Last Crusade to save Christian democracy, I'll do it, my friends.

This is some seriously sick and twisted shit. Of course McCain will not denounce it, he's a Crusader too. He's ready to kill some Muslims for Jesus! whoo hoo we have a lot of batshit crazy Christian fuckers in this country. I'm glad to see that this asshole Mega Preacher gets to make a shitload of money and gets a tax break. Probably gets a bunch of Bushco's Faith-Based Bribe Money too. I'm sure glad I get the shit taxed out of my small business while this clown coasts through life. Looks like I'm in the wrong business

The dogs of war are howling again and McCain is leading the pack. I suppose there will be those who will follow the heat of the call to make the oil for war a religious war and there will be those who will recognize the words of Reverend Rod Parsley as the words of a down home hick with sh!t for brains!
Spiritual adviser ~ heck ... this guy is not spiritual at all, he's a religious hack!

McGovern likes Obama - that clinches it for me. Let's wipe the Straussian/Neocon fantasy influence from the geo-political for GOOD. Clearly these guys are beyond reason.

McCain and Clinton both have something in common with Richard Nixon and Hubert Humphrey: they seek and accept support from any corner, regardless of the danger to our nation that is inherent in granting acceptance to radical, hate-filled, ignorance-peddling extremists like Parsley. The scariest part is that God only knows (pun intended) how many of these nutball, anti-science, anti-progress, anti-human war mongers McCain might choose to lend his ear to if he gets into the White House. With Clinton it won't be any better, given that her style of campaigning and her treatment of people and issues are so reminiscent of Richard Nixon.

This is a candidate who apperently pays attention to Tim LaHaye, preacher and author of the awful "Left Behind" series, which is a essentially a freewheeling paranoid dillusion based on the Book of Revelations.

Highlights include the Rapture of the believers, the intervention of God to save Israel from invasion by the Russians and the rise of a young handsome anti-Christ who happens to be the head of the EU. So bring on the complete madness, Mr McCain, it just wont fly. You'll have to steal the election or somehow re-divide the entire nation in a way that even the Cheney/Bush White House haven't managed - not fo r lack of trying though.

two words explain most religious beliefs and actions today: male ego.

the evangels are the worst of the worst war mongers in america. go figure.

the most christian nation on earth has the highest military budget on earth. scary thought.

today the huckster talked about the new york gov not deserving of any compassion.and only his family was. lets see and the person he claims to follow said what about forgiveness. forgive how many times seven. do these people actually read the bible.

remember jesus had the most problems with whom in his day. the religious folks. no different today.

look very close and the evangels have made their god in their image missed the point about they being made in god's image.

We really need to pound the MSM to stop giving McCain a free pass, especially when it comes to these guys: Parsley, Hagee, Falwell (except he died), it's almost superfluous to say they give religion a bad name. I'm not in any way a fan of Farakhan, but how are these guys any better? The media would do the world a favor by exposing these guys -- obviously it's easy -- and pressuring McCain to do the old "reject and denounce" routine with every last unblessed one of them. Think how much good could be done with minimal effort. These people prey on the uneducated faithful and take them for all they've got, while they pour their message of hate into their ears. Make McCain denounce them and watch them squirm! And just for fun, watch McCain squirm, too.

Insane McCain. Anyone who can stereotype an entire group of people can switch on a dime to stereotype another. Chillingly anti-Christian, anti-humane behavior.
