Meat Packer

New York Times:

The president of a slaughterhouse at the heart of the largest-ever meat recall denied under oath on Wednesday, but then grudgingly admitted, that his company had apparently introduced sick cows into the hamburger supply.

He then tried to minimize the significance.

First we hit him in the head with a big hammer, then stick a cattle prod up his butt, if he still won't walk in to be slaughtered with all the other "animals", we impale him on a forklift and dump him onto the killing floor. Just be sure that lot is sent to China. We owe them.

...and then one morning surprise him with the news that he is being executed in 15 minutes.
THAT would send a message to our coddled "white collar criminals".

If you eat cow meat, you're just asking for Mad Cow disease.
The government is NOT protecting you and people like this guy don't give a damn about cows OR you.

And the republican corporate tools on the committee defended him, of course. I was hoping a Dem member would ask them "if this guy had sex with a cow, THEN WOULD YOU CONDEMN HIM?"

MONSTER for what he's done to cows and the risk he's put to humans. Jail is too good for him.

Can only get worse more and more cattle shipped to Hallmark/Westland (unless permanently shut down)
from farther and farther away, used to be it got the cattle from the local dairy farms which as of 1977
went out of agricultural protection status (Williamson Act-google it folks), land developers have wasted no time in buying em up and building homes and other urban sprawl of the greater L. A. area in their place.
Truck in more cattle from who knows where for slaughter, while execs out marketing to restaurants and gov'ts (over 2000 customers they had). Don't ask questions about where our food supply comes from just buy and eat the meat (and make us some money)----the meatrix indeed.

I like jail for him and make him eat only sick cows for the length of his stay. Close down his business, seize any property he has, liquidate all of his assets and distribute the proceeds to any people who suffered because of his actions. Last, force his entire family and friends to eat his sick cows.

Unfortunately, I don't think anything serious will happen to him or his company. The company will write this off and conduct business as usual.

BOARDROOMS NEED RESTRUCTURING, … AND NOT IN A DECORATIVE SENSE

While wondering where the legal extremes of corporate abuse, or less legal malfeasance might next surface, there is one prevailing trend that has swept corporate America and led to Congress scratching its assembled intellect. A gradual shift of control of the boardroom. That is now complete.

For any system to succeed over the long-term it should be tended to and altered where improvements can be affected. Starting at the top the capitalist system is in very urgent need of adjustments and a few repairs.

If it is found that the tainted meat caused even one death, this man should face manslaughter charges, at the very least.

The same goes for unethical health insurance executives - I have heard many stories of medical treatments being delayed on purpose or even coverage illegally cancelled, and before the appeal can even be heard, the formally insured person dies (and this is intentional on the insurance companies part). Enforce the law, prosecute a couple of these heartless executives, toss them in jail with the general population, and count the seconds until these tactics stop.
