The Pentagon on Wednesday canceled plans for broad public release of a study that found no pre-Iraq war link between late Iraqi President Saddam Hussein and the al Qaida terrorist network.

Rather than posting the report online and making officials available to discuss it, as had been planned, the U.S. Joint Forces Command said it would mail copies of the document to reporters -- if they asked for it. The report won't be posted on the Internet.

wadenelson1: "The majority of Americans will never even hear about this report, and the 29% will CONTINUE believing there was a link."
"Ignorance, indifference, apathy, .....they're killin' this country. Maybe we need to turn off TV. All TV."

Fox News deliberately (and ideologically) misled its hapless audience in the first year or so of the war.

Their Iraq war coverage was always accompanied by a banner on the screen saying "The War on Terror."

Hey Nancy, can you spell impeachment. Might want to start with VP Vader who has been at the center of this mess all along. It would be highly significant if the congress started to take the government back. But what the hell, you will roll along like you always have. You are as worthless as the rest of the politicians in DC who simply want to cover their ass and make millions. The truth is out there and the VP lied to congress and the citizens. Do something or resign your post and let a real leader take over. Thanks for nothing!

If he didn't have sex with that woman impeachment is off the table...
case in point, just this week they wanted to IMPEACH another Washinton SEX OFFENDER Eliot Spitzer.
It's okay to destroy other people's country and kill their citizens but SEX is off the table.

Didn"t Bush threaten so-called Old Europe with economic exclusion if they did not jump on board with his insanity? I know, I heard him during a press conference at the time he was putting together the "coalition of the willing", declare that if the Europeans did not join in on the invasion, that European companies would not get a piece of the oil and reconstruction action, just like some kind of gangster.

The Bush administration is one of the most secretive in recent history. If you can't see under the covers, you can expect the situation to be very bad indeed!

Lies on the other hand.

This entire fiasco in the Middle East is about OIL, the phony war, the failed diplomacy. We are going bankrupt with the current approach and killing many innocent people. Why doesn't Bush/Cheney who have acted without opposition from the media and the general public just send an expedtionary force to Saudi Arabia and other oil rich countries and take the reserves from them. Saves time, money and heartache. I am sure the media would cheerlead such a move and the general public support it just as they did the illegal "shock and awe" and subsequent invasion of Iraq for no good reason.

This story is not on the Huffington Post yet,but the BBC is reporting that the Chaldean Catholic Archbishop has been found dead after being kidnapped last month! Now I'm an agnostic and don't subscribe to any mumbo-jumbo but this man was murdered because of his religion in a country we are occuping! If memory serves, the fanatics of any stripe were loath to pull this kind of crap when Saddam was running the place! Ironic that the invasion by Bush's Christian Soldiers (military and mercenary) has made life much worse for the native Christian population!

Oh and by the way less Iraqi women are driving now than they were during Saddam Hussain's rule due to lack of security. ... I am wondering when the Iraqi 1st Intafada will commence. Are we suppose to learn from the Israelis or they from US

That's right, Pentagon, bury the truth when it runs counter to the Bush/Cheney Orwellian narrative. Another example of our tax dollars at work helping to protect a failed administration from having to share the truth with the citizens whose interests they are supposed to be representing. Once again, another glaring example of circumventing issues and facts relating to accountability. This is outrageous.

We've long known that the "intelligence" on the subject of Iraq has been manipulated and massaged to within a millimeter of having not one single thinking person who doesn't have their head up their ass believing anything the Bush administration has told us on this or any other subject.

If a foreign power were to engage in a similarly exhaustive "study" of United States documents, what they'd find is

... that Bush has always had, and continues to have, deep ties to the bin Laden family,

... that back in '01 our government entertained representatives of the Taliban (now the "bad guys"),

... that high level government officials including the Vice President, Secretary Rumsfailed and other people in both the departments of State and Defense have supported Saddam Hussein in not only his war against Iran but his oppression and attempts at genocide of his own populace ...

... and that the United States of America is directly responsible for training more al Qaeda members to fly jet planes in suicide missions than any other country in the world.

What all of this means is that Bush and the Pentagon have found yet another way to piss away US tax dollars exhaustively researching threads that are so flimsy, you could weave a more durable tapestry from cotton candy, and all the while, the warp and weft of our own international and domestic malfeasance could braid a flying carpet as robust as a Boeing 747.

Who's fooling whom?

We had no right to invade and occupy Iraq.

We have no right to stay.

We should leave ASAP.

Anything else is delusional.

Why? To try and cover their asses again? This war was always about oil and war profiteering. It is that simple. But Bu$h and company keep lying about the war and what caused it and why we are continuing it. Like...the SURGE is working. What utter BULLSHIT!!! The surge was supposed to give the Iraqi government time to get it's shit together. That hasn't happened. The reason there is less bloodshed than usual, is because we are paying some of the insurgents to not kill us, but to rather kill their natural enemies. We might as well share the war profiteering to some of the folks who were previously killing our troops. Why should Blackwater, Halliburton, the Carlyle Group, Raytheon, General Dynamics, Bechtol, Lockheed and others get ALL the profits. The only thing the Iraqi government did agree upon was giving American BIG Oil interests a LOT of the Iraqi oil.

This whole war has been such a waste. A waste of precious lives. We have lost almost 4,000 lives and countless thousands are wounded severely with amputations and severe head trauma. Plus Iraq has lost over 1,000,000 lives by some estimates. For what? Oil and war profiteering. The Bu$h modus operandi. BLOOD money.

McBush and his spiritual advisers will get on this and denounce it as soon as they finish their study of how many angels can dance on the head of a pin. That cries out for completion since it wasn't settled in the middle ages.
