John Gibson, host of Fox News "The Big Story" (and perhaps best known of late for mocking actor Heath Ledger shortly after his death) has been stripped of his TV show, "The Big Story." Gibson will remain a fixture on Fox News radio, but America's Election HQ, hosted by Bill Hemmer and Megyn Kelly, will remain indefinitely in his old time slot, the network confirmed this week.

Last night, Stephen Colbert mocked Gibson, saying, "There's obviously only one big lead story tonight: an influential figure who many of us considered a moral leader has let America down and has been forced to leave his post. Of course I speak of Fox News' John Gibson." Colbert continued mocking Gibson in the clip below, which also includes Colbert's discussion of Eliot Spitzer, who was a guest on "The Colbert Report" the day before his Washington liaison with Emperors Club call girl "Kristen" aka Ashley Alexandra Dupre.

Funny, when you get fired by FOX, there is no where to fall.

The surprising thing in all of this is that Fox News may actually be showing some moral integrity. I didn't think they could do that.

The False News network wouldn't know integrity if it fell on them; this is all about the Benjamins. But with Tucker Carlson taking one for the team on MSNBC, it would be nice to see a pattern emerging with the right wingnuts losing their electronic soap boxes one by one.

Yes, if only Scarborough could go too. Perhaps the news will get back to telling us the facts, instead of this conservative nonsense or two partisans screaming at one another.

Can any one say, 'Contradiction in terms'?

Moral Integrity? This is Fox we're talking about...

You heard it hear first. The timely firing of John Gibson will open the door so that the Right Wing's favorite son, Tucker Carlson, can return home to where he belongs. FIX News.

It wasn't moral integrity that motivated this. It was a business decision -- we'll see the real reasons behind it in time, once they fill his spot and we learn more about (1) Gibson's ratings, (2) advertiser blowback from repeated foot-in-mouth problems on the network, and (3) corporate "perception" strategy.

But it's most certainly not a matter of integrity, as evidenced by the continued airing of Bill O'Reilly's show.

Look the man did his show to support the Fatherland.
He is loyal to Herr Bush and he is a patriot to the nation.
I understand he wears his boots and armband during
each radio show.
He is doing his DUTY. He would give his life for Herr Bush.

Poor John. Maybe Keith Oberman will join him next. That just goes to show what happens to so-called journalists who don't have the ability to remain unbiased -- they lose their broadcasting seats and air-time. Better watch closely Keith. By the way Keith, when are you going to do a "biased" commentary on the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Baracks former minister and campaigner? Looks like he's gone out and made some racial statements and made some not-so-nice comments about 911. Do you agree with Rev. Wright , Keith and Obama? Did America deserve this?

The issue isn't "bias"...all journalists have a bias which colors what they cover and how they frame their stories. The question is one of integrity:

John and Tucker = no integrity

Keith = high integrity

Expect Mr. Olbermann, and if we're lucky more like him, to continue to speak truth to power.

You're right, my dear clintonista. How dared Keith Olbermann complain about blatantly racist comments from the Clinton campaign!! Shame on him!! Everybody knows that just because you say you're not a racist, that entitles you to make the most disgusting racial comments...

If you would go back and fact check when racism was introduced into the campaign you would find out Michelle Obama introduced it in Nov 07 when she said " Black people ought to wake up and support her husband".

If that wasn't a racist remark what is,

Perhaps not so nice... but also largely in part, true. Olberman makes no claim to be unbiased. He is an opinion maker, an editorialist as it were. The difference between Keith and Gibson is that Keith works to expose the hubris of those in office who work against the interests of democracy and the Constitution and attempts to illuminate the folly of perception that grips a large portion of America, especially the neoconservative movement and the entire current administration while Gibson spews vitriol and vemom in support of those who Keith rails against. Do some fact checking and read some books and visit a few alternative news sites to educate yourself about the reality based portion of our society.

OLBERMAN IS A COMMENTATOR-HE GETS PAID TO HAVE AN OPINION AND TO BROADCAST IT!!! YOU MAY NOT LIKE HIS VIEWPOINTS-SO TURN HIM OFF! YOUR PALS-BILL-O, HANNITY,AND THE LIKE ARE ALSO COMMENTATORS! I DON'T CARE FOR THEIR BRAND OF BIAS-SO I TURN THEM OFF!!! THIS IS VERY SIMPLE TO FOLLOW! GET IT YET,TROLL!!!

Gibson is one greasy, ignorant piece of trailer-trash. I can remember him stating, on the air, that there was absolutely no doubt that Timothy McVeigh was directly linked to al-Queda. Amazing. He and Roger Ailes can rot in hell.

Let's just hope we can keep our Democratic Party together so we are strong to clobber these wingnuts!

I love hearing Faux news claim they are number 1 on cable. The reason they are number on is that they have the monopoly on Stupid people. All the other news stations have to share the viewers with brains. I really love the Faux news slogan.....WE REPORT, YOU DECIDE. That is like saying.....BELIEVEIT OR NOT....

Good bye Johnny, you will still get to spew your racism on the radio.
