The Democratic presidential ticket will be a "Dream Team," Nancy Pelosi said Thursday, it just won't have both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama's name on it.

Speaking to reporters on Capitol Hill, the House Speaker reiterated comments she made earlier in the week that the two presidential candidates will not end up sharing a ticket.

"I do think we will have a dream team, it just won't be those two names," She said. "Whoever our nominee is and whoever he or she is and whoever he or she chooses, will be a dream team as the Democrats go forward."

When pressed further about the possibility of a joint ticket, Pelosi stated flatly, "Take it from me, that won't be the ticket."

Keep reading here.

Watch the video below:

On Tuesday, Pelosi deemed a joint ticket with Obama and Clinton "impossible," citing Clinton's statements that McCain would make a more experienced commander-in-chief than Obama. ">Read more and watch the video here.

This is a democracy. She can do whatever she wants. I won't have to make mine a write-in vote if she isn't the democratic nominee on the November ballot if she's there as an Independent.

It's worked for others in Senate races. This is a democracy, she has that right.

Ms. Pelosi - I live in the late Tom Lantos' district, so for now you are my representative (I have called you often on FISA - if you allow the house to cave on telecom immunity I will have no faith left in the D. party). I write this response today to say, if you or any of your staff monitor these comments, PLEASE: if you have the power to prevent an Obama/Clinton ticket, the PLEASE use that power to get Hilary to stop goading his campaign re race. The last few days have me thinking I will NOT VOTE if she is the candidate. But how can I not vote? At the least she has to STOP the racial slurs by innuendo that pit Obama to respond. It is all so dirty.

If Obama is the candidate I will not vote. He's trying to steal the nomination by preventing a re-vote in Fla and Mich. Or he is proposing some convoluted way to divide the delegates.

He's no leader, he is a manipulator.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 07:44 PM on 03/13/2008

what the hell are you talking about? He has said he will go along with whatever they decide. If anyone is trying to steal the election, it's her, who wants delegates seated as is in a state where Obama wasn't even on the ballot. Those were not fair votes, she did not win when there was nobody to compete against. Get your facts straight before you air your divisive opinions.

Hate to rain on your parade with facts but:

1) Obama has said repeatedly that he is for a re-vote in Fla and Michigan.
2) Even if Hillary were to win BOTH Florida and Michigan -- she STILL cannot overtake him in delegates
3) Hillary is trying to steal the nomination by stealing pledged and super delegates.

Guess which one is the manipulator? Correct -- it is Hillary.

The Democratic Party, for better or for worse, is fracturing. It was bound to happen sooner or later. It is divided into the progressive wing and the centrist DLC wing. And they hate each other's guts.

Maybe that's a good thing. I would really like to see a pure, progressive party in this country. There are too many centrist milquetoasts in today's Democratic Party for it to be of much use.

I thought I was a progressive until I saw how sexist they are. They are for progress, as long as women know their place - second place. Progressives they are not.

Pelosi should keep her mouth shut and let us decide what a dream ticket is, plenty of candidates have forged alliances in the past that no one thought would happen

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 06:29 PM on 03/13/2008

Sure, but I think her point is that Clinton has questioned Obamas credibility so much that were she to appear on the ticket with him (top or bottom) that the ticket itself would lack credibility in the eyes of voters - particularly independents who are needed to swing the race. Why would Clinton run for VP with a man she's constantly claiming isn't ready to be President? And, for the same reasons, why would she consider a man who isn't ready to take over, as a VP running mate? I don't know what Pelosis game is (maybe she's hoping for the VP slot?), or who she imagines will win, but she does make a valid point.

I agree, her biased comments show that she is not capable of being a leader of Democrats, she should be removed immediately!

Dear Speaker Pelosi,

Thank you sincerely for endorsing Senator Obama! You've done the correct thing, and we the people thank you from our hearts!

She was very careful to endorse nobody. Maybe she's hoping for Clinton/Pelosi or Obama/Pelosi!

Thank you Nancy for interpreting the obvious to the blind and deaf among us. Yes there are many people who still think there will be a "dream team." Someone needed to step up to the plate and make quite clear that that's now impossible and remind us of why its impossible. I doubt Nancy has any interest in being a running mate herself. But as a KEY Democratic official she has a great deal of responsibility for the party's future. This is not the first time she's spoken out about the Democratic race and it won't be the last. As one of the party's most important leaders isn't it her job to interpret what's going on from the leadership's perspective?

Oh Man, if this isn't a SIGN that Hillary campaign tactics, is really getting on the Democratic Party leaders nerves, I don't know what is. Pelosi is undercutting Hillary's tactics. , pertaining to Hillary's , Obama VP talk. Pelosi needs to stay on message and be tough with Hillary. Or else, they will lose in November.

Clinton's repeated denigration of Obama, in the same sentence she praises McCain, is obviously creating an OUTCRY among Democratic officeholders, and Pelosi is rebuking Clinton, as she should.

Added to her shameful performance on 60 minutes when asked about the rumors that Obama is a muslim, Clinton has crossed the line.

Time for the superdelegates to step forward and tell Clinton she has lost the nomination and the Democrats' respect.

I totally agree. Hillary started this race with 3-1 super delegate lead before 1 vote was cast. Oh poor Hillary the victim!!! It is time for the super delegates to step in and at least give Obama the super delegate lead his perfomance indicates. It would be a shot over the bow of the Clinton/Rove campaign.

But dont hold your breath. Our partys leadership was not built on courage. Does John Edwards even have an opinion on Hillary praising McCain. I know he wanted someone who would stand up, but stand up for the republican nominee? Do Bill Richardson, Al Gore or Joe Biden have any problems with Hillary basically going Zell Miller.

Where have you gone Joe Dimaggio

Pelosi had no credibility yesterday and no more than that today.
Until she moves forward with the impeachment of Bull Walrus and
validates Kucinich's motion to impeach, Nancy Pelosi has about as much
importance in my life as Sponge Bob Square Pants....actually SBSP makes
me laugh. Pelosi makes me puke

I would sincerely like to see President Bush and Vice President Cheney impeached for there "gross misdemeanors" and maybe even "treason" in treating the U.S. Constitution like a doormat, but.... Remember please, that the Republican House impeached President Bill Clinton divided evenly on partisan grounds. To this day, many Republicans see that impeachment as justified as think President B. Clinton should have been convicted and removed from office. Unfortunately, an impeachment of the current President and his Vice President would again be divided on partisan lines. Again, the Country would be divided about whether the impeachment was justified or not. We need to wait, bide our time and help ALL of America see just how corrupt this Administration has been.

The best thing we can do right now is elect a candidate for the President who will not treat the U.S. Constitution like a doormat. Senator Obama has repeatedly said that he will obey the Constitution; heck Senator Obama has taught the U.S. Constitution. We can believe him. He goes into towns all over this Country and tells people that Habeas Corpus is a sacred right that stretches back 1000's of years to Magna Carta (King John -- remember him? In the legend of Robin Hood he is Prince John, not yet King -- had to sign Magna Carta giving Habeas Corpus for the first time at the point of several swords aimed at his neck to finally obliterate "Star Chamber" a place where good Saxons and Normans used to disappear before Magna Carta and their families could not find out where to find them). Senator Obama tells people that Habeas Corpus is sacred and everyone should stand firmly behind it.

Hillary knows the numbers are against her. So she has resorted to the only thing that she thinks is left to her - going negative, lying and misrepresenting the facts. And this is the person some people still think is fit to be president with unchecked power?! Thankfully they are in a minority.

Hillary supporters should remember that there are only so many government jobs and handouts, and they should rethink their priorities and put the United States first.

Sorry, not happening . Her district is San Francisco who voted overwhelmingly for Obama and all her closest allies support Obama.
Thank you Nancy for finally stepping out to the plate and calling the clinton's bluff.

Webb: Navy Cross (very rare, next to Medal of Honor), 2 Silver Stars (outstanding courage while in grave danger ), Bronze Star (Heroic actions under fire), 2 Purple Hearts (spilling your blood for Country).

He was Secretary of the Navy. He's been the veteran's best friend. He is a best-selling writer. He has a great family. He won his post as Senator in a Republican stronghold.

He is very smart, very well-spoken.

He has brass balls and he has a heart.

DREAM TEAM!!!!

The numbers are against Hillary. What she could do for the good of the nation is to step aside now and stop the blood. If Hillary gets the nomination, McMummy will be the next president and we all know where that's going.......

Let the rest of the people vote. What ever dirt Hillary throws will either inoculate Obama from worse from the repubs or if it sticks it will show that he can't win the general. Stopping now will look less ugly but could yield a Dukakis-like or Kerry-like candidate that can't fight it out.
