The Democratic presidential ticket will be a "Dream Team," Nancy Pelosi said Thursday, it just won't have both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama's name on it.

Speaking to reporters on Capitol Hill, the House Speaker reiterated comments she made earlier in the week that the two presidential candidates will not end up sharing a ticket.

"I do think we will have a dream team, it just won't be those two names," She said. "Whoever our nominee is and whoever he or she is and whoever he or she chooses, will be a dream team as the Democrats go forward."

When pressed further about the possibility of a joint ticket, Pelosi stated flatly, "Take it from me, that won't be the ticket."

Keep reading here.

Watch the video below:

On Tuesday, Pelosi deemed a joint ticket with Obama and Clinton "impossible," citing Clinton's statements that McCain would make a more experienced commander-in-chief than Obama. ">Read more and watch the video here.

Pelosi should spend more time getting things passed in the House. She's not accomplished much since the first 100 hours PR stunt. Wasn't that over a year ago?

I don't think Nancy wants Hillary to break the next glass ceiling in Washington. She's not finished basking in her own ceiling breaking,

I applaud Speaker Pelosi's recent outbreak of candor and congratulate her on getting her ethics reform bill passed (that and blocking the Telecom Immunity bill are the first achievements of this Democratic Congress).
And just like Clinton endorsed McCain (and only fools don't see it as such), she has done the sensible thing and endorsed Obama.

You are right. Pelosi is basically endorsing Obama. Good for her.

Yes at least she endorsed a fellow Democrat not like Clinton endorsing McCain. Maybe Senator Clinton is thinking the dream ticket should McCain/Clinton.

Pelosi is ignoring the fact that half the party supports Clinton and half supports Obama.

If they can resolve their differences, that would probably be the best ticket.

I would prefer Clinton/Obama. But I'd vote for Obama/Clinton. She can school him behind the scenes.

You're dreaming.
Since she has been cheerleading for McCain and has had her poll and vote numbers artificially boosted by crossover Republicans (the Limbaugh effect) - she is OBVIOUSLY not a viable candidate.
We need to get her out ASAP and get to work.

Comedy. If you think Obama will put her on his ticket after how's she's waged this campaign, you must have really drank the Kool-Aid. Anyway, when he finally nails this down and the media stops pretending its "close", he'll pick someone with actual experience, not someone divisive with less time in elected office than himself. He'll pick someone with more than superficial international experience, and someone who's been actually been involved in national security. She's waged a campaign that should disgust all Democrats, and she's lost this New Yorker's vote no matter what happens, senate or otherwise. Although if she somehow does steal the nomination, she'll have a lot more to worry about than loosing just me...

We've had enough VPs "schooling" Presidents, haven't we?
Sorry, I don't want your unitary executive.
As for the half of the Party that prefers Clinton, well, we knew the Party would break in half sooner or later.
I say, good riddance to the DLC Lieberman wing of the Democratic Party. The sooner we say good riddance, the better.

I am more than half of the party. I'm not the Lieberman wing. I'm not the DLC. I am the "woman" part of the party who will be pissed as hell if Obama steals this as he is trying to do. He will be toast in my state of PA and there are more states to follow. The party ignores people like me at their peril.

School in WHAT? Mismanaging money, incurring legal difficulties, polarizing the party, playing the victim, playing the race card, playing on people's fears and prejudices, playing along with the opposition, putting self before party and country, padding the resume, finessing the question, crying on cue, SELLING OUT for personal gain??

What did you have in mind? Teach him to play his part in an SNL skit? Please, she'd be too busy starting a hate-letter writing war between parts of her own party to answer the damned phone! Or maybe starting a REAL war.

And if it were Obama/Clinton, he'd have to get himself a damn good food taster... the Clintons have always cared more about their own political gain than anything else. If something good comes of it, it seems more by chance than by intent.

Well , Nance, the Democrats will not go forward after Hillary burns the party to death with her scorched earh aproach.

The Democrats aso will not go forward as we watch the so called "leaders" refuse to bring a war criminalto justice, and we watch him now, on the five year anniversary of this despicable and horrific war of death and destruction basedon his lies, while we notice NO DEMOCRATIC LEADERSHIP in taking him on and forceing him t get out of our house. You and the Democrats just let it g o on
and on, more killings, more suffering, more devastation, and YOU let it go on

W'ho cares what you say about a dream ticket. You are just jumping on the bandwagon to fool us all into thinking you are on top of things. What a safe thing to say, Nancy.

Do you have any idea how many Democrats are leaving the fold? Do you consider that the party
will LOSE agan, because of the likes of the scared, cowering Democrats? Becaus of the scorched earth policy of a candidate, a racist to boot, is herself willing to take it down singlehandedly because her narcissistic ambitions will not be fulfiled?

You go Democrats.

This is the party splintering now. Can't you see it?
No party could survive not impeaching Bush. It seems the Speaker is realizing this. Something new is on the way.

The Democratic Party deserves to crash and burn after suddenly discovering that it's suppose to be the progressive party and going after the first viable female presidential candidate. Big mistake for the party, but not for the country. We are beginning to talk about gender and race and be a little more reflective. The Democratic party will rise again, but it's temporary downfall may be a good thing for everyone. I think of it as a necessary controlled wilderness burn. It's a little scary, but it's good for nature.

Pelosi's a joke. Impeachment is off the table because Congress has more important issues to attend to for the American people - like hearings for steroids with baseball players.

Quit calling it a "dream ticket", for anyone paying attention it would be obvious that any ticket with Hillary on it would be a nightmare, certain down the ballot loses.

Clinton is running for McCains VP and nancy is pissed off and so are many democrats expect her (hillary) to drop out soon, nancy is just out there so soften the blow of Hillarys supporters. what will happens is that enough supper delegates will come fort to effectively make Obama the nominee, thus ending the contest. and begain the general ellection Nancy wants the idea crushed to powder first before she moves ahead tonomination, believe they will not wait around 3-4 months to see their nominee be taken down by McCains VP aka Monster. Nancy Pelosi soften the blow to Hillary supporters?

Nancy Pelosi soften the blow?

If those delegates award this thing to Obama, there is nothing Nancy can do to soften the blow.

Award? I know you don't seem to believe it, but Obama is ahead in delegates, pledged delegates, popular vote, and states won. What more do you need to see that he is winning?

Thanks Rep Pelosi for stepping into the fray to "nip it in the bud"-all the -mudslinging fallacies coming from the HRC camp.

Just because HRC says it-does not make it so...

Her supporters need to be a little bit more open-minded to the out and out lies, exaggerations...self-serving, ambitious partialities to biased distortions on her part IN LUI OF TRUTH.

Here's the truth: HRC is running over 100 delegates behind Obama, who has captured 29 states in comparison to HRC 14 (more than 2:1 ratio).
Obama also has about 700,000 more in popular vote.
Obama also has kept to his pledge to the DNC not to campaign in FLA & Mich when the 2 states violated thier early primary oaths-while HRC also pledged to the same and underhandedly kept her name on the ballot-then after losing SC overwhelmingly decided to suddenly start caring about disinfranchising voters in FLA (but not so much in Mich....wonder why??/)

WAKE UP voters--do you really want to elect someone with NO integrity to anyone but herself???

in fact obama usually gets as many votes as both hillary and BushMcCain combined.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 05:34 PM on 03/13/2008

If this were a Republican-style primary (winner take all for each state), Clinton would be the nominee already. McCain is going to win all those little republican states that Obamarama has won. He cannot win the big states,

Perhaps you should go back and read the rules about Michigan and Florida, no one was told to take thier name off the ballot. And Clinton (because of her experience) was smart enough to keep hers on

No chance she is going to allow another woman in the WH with her husband.

Thanks.
