The Democratic presidential ticket will be a "Dream Team," Nancy Pelosi said Thursday, it just won't have both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama's name on it.

Speaking to reporters on Capitol Hill, the House Speaker reiterated comments she made earlier in the week that the two presidential candidates will not end up sharing a ticket.

"I do think we will have a dream team, it just won't be those two names," She said. "Whoever our nominee is and whoever he or she is and whoever he or she chooses, will be a dream team as the Democrats go forward."

When pressed further about the possibility of a joint ticket, Pelosi stated flatly, "Take it from me, that won't be the ticket."

Keep reading here.

Watch the video below:

On Tuesday, Pelosi deemed a joint ticket with Obama and Clinton "impossible," citing Clinton's statements that McCain would make a more experienced commander-in-chief than Obama. ">Read more and watch the video here.

Your job is to IMPEACH DUBYA.
As for the ticket, it is none of your bees-wax.

Got it. So go to work on the IMPEACHMENT.

It is too late for impeachment, and besides that if Bush were successfully impeached, the Republicans would use the opportunity to find somebody else who could run with the advantage of incumbency.

Incumbency is hardly the advantage it was just, oh, four years ago.
The nation is hardly in a mood to reward incumbents.

I think she is right, Obama will be out of it pretty soon, when ABC starts showing the Rev. Wright ripping America, and Hillary for being white with his racist rants, a Church Obama takes his children to br exposed to these racist rants. I see why Michelle Obama hates America as well, she listens to hate speech every Sunday

In other words, Hillary Clinton will not be on the ticket.

Hillary destroyed her own possibilities and place in history. Scorched earth campaigning made sure she does not see the Presidential nominee or VP. She's an all or nothing candidate and I guess she would rather take nothing. Not good for the party, though. So much for all of us little voters out here that began this campaign with so much pride in the fact that it was our Democrat party that would be the ground breakers on the first woman or black to hold the highest office in our land.

Hillary thanks for nothing! You only have yourself and those you trusted to run an above board good campaign to blame. Obama has proven to be the best CEO and organizer/planner without lowering himself to the Bush/Rove level.

I watch him handle this silly crazy stuff the Clinton campaign throws at him and he's statesman like - just the person to create the change needed in Washington - civility!!!!

Well put. The slash and burn tactics and the desperation of the Clinton campaign is startling when you consider that of all the candidates she went in with a HUGE advantage in name recognition. She is just self destructing before our eyes. One thing that has really changed since her husband ran in 1992 is how fast information moves because of cable tv and the internet. And then there is youtube! You can't contradict yourself during a debate like she did with the question of Gov. Spitzer and the dirvers licenses for illiegal immigrants. People are paying attention in this election a blunder like that goes viral on the internet and youtube. Working class people need help- they want solutions not parsing, doublespeak and fearmongering.

Obama was not my first choice, but since I have been watching him I am really impressed. Hillary was my last choice over every other Democratic candidate and now I seriously think I could not bring myself to vote for her under any circumstances.

I think Claire Mckaskil would be a great running mate, she always comes off very polished on TV and is a great woman, plus she is at a good age to counter balance the ticket.

I love Claire McKaskil but we need a military person as VP. Actually getting to the bottom of the whole quagmire in Irag is going to be a HUGE challenge. We are not privy to how big a disaster it really is- that info has been diligently suppressed by the Bush administration.

I think Claire McKaskil has a very bright future in politics- she is a steel magnolia!

or perhaps Obama and a gay man to patch things up after hanging around with homophobic black ministers who believe being gay is something to be "cured"

Way to stay neutral and bring the party together Nancy !
As always you're getting the job done.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 04:28 PM on 03/13/2008

I'm tired of her too. Who made her a spokesperson? As Speaker of the House, she should be remaining neutral until we get to the General Election. I am deeply disappointed in another proclamation that something is off the table. We need new leadership in the House and Senate. The evidence is the weakness that keeps creeping into our party.

SUB-ROSA NEWS

MCCAIN REFUSES TO TAKE VP OFFER

From his front porch in Sedona, Arizona, Senator McCain held a brief press conference to deny any interest in being the vice presidential candidate on a ticket headed by Senator Clinton. Showing traces of his well known hot temper, the Senator berated the Clintons for spreading rumors of such a bipartisan ticket. (off the record, he used the word "monster")

He disposed of the thought of any meeting with Senator Clinton, saying that any such meeting would be secret and " how the ___ could a meeting be secret if I talked about it?".

The conference concluded with the Senator noting that he was already the candidate in first place and asking " Can't those _____ Democrat candidates ever find a worthy Democrat?"

WOW...WHAT A HATER! I used to have respect for Speaker Pelosi, but now that's gone. She is nothing more than another COWARD on the sidelines of this race. She spews her opinion and implies it's backed up with some kind of fact she can't reveal, but I'm not swayed by her attempted Jedi mind trick.

The fact about Pelosi is simple...she's an Obama supporter quite possible more so because of Clinton rather than true admiration of Obama.

She has said she would remain neutral, but this is hardly neutral. In essences she trying to imply that Clinton is either dreaming or in lying when she speaks of a Clinton/Obama ticket. I wouldn't call either of those implications staying neutral.

Could it simply be that she doesn't want her status as the highest ranking female politician to be taken from her? Could be.

What will she say if Clinton and most assuredly asks Obama to be her running mate? Of course, Obama could decline and prove Pelosi right...would she then cut off her nose to spite her face and say told you so?

Let me say it again because it bears repeating...NANCY PELOSI IS A COWARD!

Why wouldn't Pelosi support Obama, seeing as how Clinton has thrown her support to the Republican in this race? Clinton needs to change her party affiliation.

I don't think it's even an inch over the top.

Out of one side of her mouth Pelosi says she's going to stay neutral and out the other side of her mouth she makes comments against Clinton.

I don't mind if Pelosi supports Obama -- she has every right to. I say it's cowardly because she, like many other politicians, wants to have their cake and eat it too.

What? Who is the hack that wrote this?

What Nancy Pelosi did was for the good of the party. She is a party loyalist and always will be. It will be leaders like her that will help guide this party forward after the mess that the Clinton campaign has created.

Good for her.

She's not leading. She's saying the one thing that can bring the two sides together can not happen. How is that leading?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 05:50 PM on 03/13/2008

I don't understand why Nancy Pelosi is a coward. You have to remember what Hillary said against Obama. Hillary clearly said that McCain is a better candidate for commander in chief than Obama is. Pelosi said that ended the possibility of Obama/Hillary or Hillary/Obama ticket. I completely agree with Pelosi on this issue.

Ehrmm...you may be reading into it a bit much.

This is less a Pelosi issue and more of a Clinton-Obama issue. Obama has already stated he would not be on the ticket as VP. This was in response to Hillary's arrogance in suggesting that Obama could be her VP and then Bill Clinton reiterated the same thing a couple of days later.
What a pair.

Pelosi is simply making it official. I'm sure the topic has come up within the DNC and the superdelegates (her daughter is one of them).

I don't think Nancy is just "spewing".The Clintons brought it up first and quite frankly it needed to be adressed in an official way.

This party has proven, once and for all, that it is far from being beyond gender- and race- discrimination. Thank the Clintons for bringing out the worst in us.

Obama can not select Clinton for VP for many reasons, but first and foremost would be all the GOP commercials using Clinton soundbites saying he's not ready to be Commander in Chief. She burned that bridge during her current scorched earth policies. She has done the GOP work for them, using their tactics, and will ultimately hope he loses to McCain so she can run again in 2012. If Obama wins, she may have to wait until 2016 and that is exactly why she's employing the "kitchen sink" strategy right now. If she really had something scandlous on Obama, it would have been used a long time ago, because the only thing she cares about is her personal ambition, the party be damned. Let's hope she fails and we have a chance to start repairing the damage of the past eight years.
