Breakthrough (www.breakthrough.tv), an international human rights organization, today launched its compelling video game, ICED! (I Can End Deportation), to help reframe the immigration debate in the United States and ensure due process and fairness for all those who live in the country. The game is available for free download at www.icedgame.com.

Designed to spark dialogue and create awareness of unfair U.S. immigration policies, ICED! I Can End Deportation (a play on the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Department), is a free, 3D downloadable game that teaches players about current immigration laws on detention and deportation that affect legal permanent residents, asylum seekers, students and undocumented people by violating human rights and denying due process.

Game players can choose one of five characters to inhabit and live out the day-to-day life of an immigrant youth. The youth are being chased by immigration officers, while making moral decisions and answering myth and fact questions about current immigration policies. If the player chooses or answers incorrectly, he/she increases his/her chances of being thrown into detention. Once in detention, the player endures both physical separation from his/her family and unjust conditions while awaiting -- often for unknown amounts of time -- the random outcome of his/her case.

Hi,

I just want to say that the point of the game (ICED) is that immigration laws deny due process and human rights for all immigrants- legal and undocumented. Due process is not just a right for Americans it is for all people.

Also, if you play the game, take the time to notice that four out of five characters are legal. The laws affect ALL immigrants.

Thanks,

-Crissy

They can make all the video games they want, but, if Selected, I intend to improve the maintenance of our national borders, and set up a direct dialogue with Mexico, and a visitor's system, and a courtesy bus. Let's get it right, this year, help ourselves, AND our neighbors, too. Vote for Bert!(Se, habla espanol, poquito, but working on that, too)

Here we go with another dubious headline. "Anti immigration" is so phoney. Illegal immigration is what people are protesting. A typical open border ploy to combine legal and illegal immigration. Come to a sanctuary city , Pasadena, Texas and take a look at what has happened now that illegal immigrants are now the majority. The crime rate is soaring and entire subdivisions now look like slums with 5 and 6 families moving into each house, junking up the yards and overflowing the schools.

I love the bonus round on this game where you rack up extra point by slashing the wages and benefits of blue collar American workers by gathering up and hiring illegal aliens... The only thing I didn't like was that you had to enter your social security number to play it...

LOL. That would really make the open border people happy.

Do they show these illegal aliens smuggling drugs through underground tunnels, and doing a few other things we've known them to do?

Perhaps someone could design a game showing them filling out paperwork, studying US laws and entering this country legally.

That's the game I'd like to see!

Asshat 1: " They ought to arrest everyone of them sons o' bitches and ship 'em back. This is our fucking country."

Asshat 2: "Why don't they just leave them all alone? They're just tryin' to make a better life for themselves and their families. The people that want them arrested are just racist."

The Rest Of Us: " Why must everything be politicized? Can't immigration be a welcoming process for those who want to add to what America has to offer?"

Fact is democrats pretty much believe in an open boarder policy and will continue to do so until we have another terrorist attack performed or planned both those who are in the country illegally. Then they will be on a republican witch hunt to figure out why nothing was done, how it could have happened, etc.

I just don't understand why both sides can't come together and figure out a responsible way to enforce immigration laws (that's really all we're asking, honestly) in a way that is respectful.

I hate to break it to you but both Republican and Demcratic politicians want amnesty for illegals and as open a border as we can have. It's the Left and Right Wing American citizens that are united in being sick of such schemes.
American citizens are being conned by our politicians promising to build a fence and enforce our borders. Token gestures are being done and BS speeches are being made.
The Republican politicians want amnesty for these illegals because we have huge number of baby boomers getting ready to retire. There could be labor shortages in the future and that costs businesses more money. Regardless of the baby boomer retirement forecast, businesses like the cheap labor Mexicans provide. The business are suporting the Republicans in this.
The Democratic politicians want amnesty for the illegals because they can add 20 million new voters to the rolls and ignorant, uneducated voters are their bread and butter. Do you think some poor janitor with 4 kids and not even a High School Diploma is going to vote Republican? Doubtful. The Democrats will immediately fund social programs aimed at this group of illegal aliens and win their loyalty and votes.
Meanwhile both Republican and Democrats are pissed at Lou Dobbs and Talk Radio for stirring up America against the amnesty schemes.

If any people should be deported, it should be those who can't spell. At least some of the illegal immigrants who come here try to get an education, unlike some registered citizens of this country who find school boring and useless.

It seems that those supporting amnesty for illegal immigrants only talk about Mexicans. Don't they believe in total unrestricted immigration for Africans, Asians and Western Europeans or are they really just racists?
I have yet to hear any La Raza spokesman or Huffpost columnist propose letting in unlimited Asians, Africans or Europeans.

I believe most people support the idea of immigration. Wouldn't the proper terminology for this article be anti-illegal immigration? Somehow this critical word gets left out when we discuss this issue, and it is a very important word to include. I know its no mistake that the word "illegal" is not included, but it distorts a legitimate point of view when the word is constantly omitted.

All ILLEGAL ALIENS should be deported on a video game and in real life.

All countries have legal borders. People who cross these borders without the proper paperwork are ILLEGAL ALIENS. We spend BILLIONS on ILLEGAL ALIENS that don't belong here. We need to use that money on our own citizens.

1. Could someone from the HuffPost please explain exactly what sort of entry this is? Most reputable sources identify press releases or ads, yet this looks just like a HuffPost news article. When, in fact, it's not news, just a promotion.

2. Guess who the sponsors of the group that produced this include? Oh, c'mon, you'll never guess: GeorgeSoros and the FordFoundation. I know, I was completely, utterly surprised.

3. Those who promote this game and similar usually support immigration "reform", something that supposedly includes stepped-up enforcement. Yet, those supporters constantly opposed current enforcement. Does anyone in their right mind think those supporters are going to do a 180 and suddenly start supporting enforcement, such as that mandated by the "reform" they support?

why are cons always up in arms when soros is involved in something yet have no problems getting their news from a twisted Australian Billionaire who is cozy with Communist China ?

If Soros was involved, I say we should legalize any undocumented residents found on his property.
