In a video obtained by Gawker, watch Scientology chief David Miscavige lead the sect's most famous follower into an extravagant celebration of the Hollywood star on Scientology cruise ship, Freewinds. Cruise's entrance is, of course, to the theme music from Top Gun, one of the movies for which the actor is best known, or was, until he took up his new role as evangelist for the bizarre Church. After the movie clips are played, and the bands perform, Cruise exclaims: "This is incredible... It's the best birthday ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, and I mean: ever!"

That is such a shame. TC is just another attention craving and I do mean CRAVING nutjob who just happens to be a movie star. He's beginning look and sound like he's going manic on everyone.

Like a speed freak who has an unlimited supply of meth.

What is even funnier is how the cult of Scamology has cruise ships. (Get it? Cruse as in TOM and also what gay men do all the time....cruise??? HELLO IS THIS THING WORKING?)

I love Tom Cruise -- so what if he's into Scientology. The guy has made it, he seems to be happy and he helps people. He's also talented and cute.

I heard Ron Hubbard started Scientology on a bet with fellow science fiction writers, when he was penniless and starving. It went something like, "hey maybe we can make some money if we start a religion." I guess it won't be the first or last time.

Hey, don't fault Tom for his eccentricities. I was the same way when I was only 5'5" tall.
But then I was in junior high back then...and a female.

I'd rather watch Tom Cruise's funeral.

OK he was a little too jazzed up when he came in the room to see the video tribute and listen to the band...seemed a little bit over the top. But the singing & dancing...it's just a re-creation of his famous sing-along and dancing from the movie Risky Business years ago. What's the big deal? I would venture to say that virtually all guys his age couldn't dance like that, much less do the splits and carry a tune at the same time. He's in great shape, looks hot, is a little kooky...but it's a cute video that shows him having a really good time. Non-story.

Look. Its reasonable to say (because its true) that LR Hubbard was part of the Mk-Ultra program and Scientology is nothing more that a giant experiment in mind control.

I don't care if all religion is the same, Scientology can be singled out because its from the 'intelligence' community and is a greater threat due to the nefarious motives of its perpetrators.

I have never been a fan of his...he is just such a nothing, and as it turns out, a truly psycho nothing...how many guys are you going to have sign statements saying you never had a sexual encounter with them? At least now they know you are such a friggin' nutjob, they are staying far and clear of you...

a "scientology" birthday party?

what is that?

I will now use this opportunity to invite all HP bloggers to my "methodist" birthday party.

How the mighty have fallen. Poor guy can't even celebrate his birthday with friends without getting slammed. Maybe he and Gibson can hook up for a Buddy Flick.

I'm not sure I see anything wrong with this video.
Cruise had a birthday.
He celebrated by laughing, singing and dancing.
Big deal.
What's he supposed to do? Sit in the corner and sulk?
Then we'd write about how he's anti-social.
