Bald Ceos

CEOs seem to instinctively know that it's better to be authoritative than indecisive. They know about the vision thing and the passion thing. They even know a few leadership lessons that aren't taught in business school -- such as, it helps to be tall.

But an unscientific survey of USA TODAY's panel of CEOs and other evidence suggest that baldness might be a blind spot for many.

CEOs say being bald doesn't impede success and, given a choice, it's better to be bald than short. So widely held is this conventional wisdom among top executives that when asked to choose, most CEOs say they'd take 2 more inches of height over a full head of Robert Redford hair.

Odd, my hair comment shows up in my profile, but not here. Lots of strange happenings with the mods now with no explanations from the admin.

So, a piece that confirms that there is definitely sexism rampant in this world! Apparently the two most important things necessary to be a successful CEO are non-feminine characteristics. I mean, it is completely unacceptable for a woman to be bald! See Sinead O'Connor, who I think hasn't been heard from since she went bald! Also, don't go there about tall women -- they are immediately tagged as freaks and thought to belong only on a basketball court. But I digress -- there are serious things going on with our economy and the world economy and if all these guys have got to show their expertise is their height or their hair or the lack of it, then I guess that's why we've got serious problems!

Bald or not, it's high time the BOARDROOMS were repaired. They are simply BROKEN.

Due diligence and oversight are out the window. Let's straighten it at the Board level.

The financial market is melting down, oil is spiking and we get a piece on baldness.

No mention about length, though? Odd. Or maybe not--they can lie about that just like they lie about where our money goes!
