Clinton Supporters On Strike At Daily Kos

This is an open letter to the progressive blogosphere...

I've been posting at DailyKos for nearly 4 years now and started writing diaries in support of Hillary Clinton back in June of last year. Over the past few months I've noticed that things have become progressively more abusive toward my candidate and her supporters.

I've put up with the abuse and anger because I've always believed in what our on-line community has tried to accomplish in this world. No more. DailyKos is not the site it once was thanks to the abusive nature of certain members of our community.

I've decided to go on "strike" and will refrain from posting here as long as the administrators allow the more disruptive members of our community to trash Hillary Clinton and distort her record without any fear of consequence or retribution. I will not be posting at DailyKos effective immediately. I will not help drive up traffic or page-hits as long as my candidate - a good and fine DEMOCRAT - is attacked in such a horrid and sexist manner not only by other diarists, but by several of those posting to the front page.

I've read some hateful things written by Obama supporters. I've also read some hateful things written by Clinton supporters.

The anonymity of the web allows people to say things in ways they never would in the real world. We all know that. Some of us have done it. All uf us have had it turned against us at one point or another.

Far left "progressives" on the DailyKook site are complaining that other far left kooks are using the same tactics on them as they do on Republicans and conservatives. They were doing the same thing to Geraldine Ferarro last week.

This is hillarious. Democrats "eating their own" and then complaining "it's not fair!!" Welcome to the world of the conservatives. Now you see how childish and immature the far left can be.

Very strange reaction. Clinton is the main culprit here by any standard, and then Clinton supporters complain? Clinton is the one "throwing the kitchen sink" at Obama. She is the one putting out negative attacks. I think this reaction by some Daily Kos writers is very strange indeed.

I find it odd that people don't equate what's happening on the blogosphere with it maybe being the simple fact that Obama simply has a vastly higher number of supporters. Should they be silenced just because Hillary's supporters don't think it's fair he has more supporters?

This is so funny. First of all the Clinton campaign whined and cried and berated the media about how she was supposedly being picked on. Poor poor Hillary. So the press let up but guess what. The netroots didn't buy the victim story and in fact, Hillary took a lot more abuse for her whiny tactics. So now they're going after the netroots with their poor poor me victim story. What a hoot. Allegre, one of the most divisive, insult spewing posters on DKos has now somehow managed to get her silly diary posted on a bunch of sites in the hope that the netroots will be as pliable as the media was. Sorry Allegre. It won't work here either. Take your victimization to MyDD or Taylor Marsh or Hillary 44 websites where it is pro-Hillary anti-Obama 24/7.

Daily Kos ceased being a progressive site a coupla years ago as most real progressives were banned or left due to the appaling groupthink done under the approval of Markos, one of the most smug humans I've ever seen. He's a former Republican who still lives to ferment dissent on his own site, responding to people with dismissive glibness and ignorant insight. He has a team of admin bullies to set the tone and it was set a long time ago by its Chevron-pimping founder. What happened there is the direct result of the Kos mindset of eating their own.
