Clinton Won't Release Earmark Requests Like Obama

Close observers of yesterday's reports on the efforts of McCain and Obama to get Sen. Clinton to disclose her earmark requests going back to 2001 may have noticed a strange thing about the statement her office issued at the end of the day.

It said all manner of things about earmarks, and moratoriums, and funding, and accountability. But it never said whether she would disclose her earmark requests going back to 2001.

We spent today back-and-forthing a few more times by e-mail with her press office, and the exchanges made it pretty clear that the oversight was intentional. The plan seems to be that since the NY press has never obsessed over Hillary's earmark requests, she can safely not release them as long as she doesn't say she won't and doesn't say why she won't.

i believe everyone SHOULD RELEASE THEIR EARMARKS.
But I also believe Senator McCain is rather Obtuse when he does not GET IT.
So, Senator McCain,,,,,,,,,it is easy to be against the earmarks, because it is EASY TO PANDER to the TAXPAYER STINGINESS...............
BUT ......we as voters love it when our representative brings EARMARKS/BACON HOME..

Your "representative" wouldn't have to fight so hard to "bring the bacon home" if the Federal government didn't steal so much of it from you to begin with. Perhaps if we shrunk DC down to a proper size and slashed the tax burden to go with it, we wouldn't need to waste everyone's time on a topic like this.

The dollar is tanking, we're $10 trillion in debt, and no end in sight to the bleeding. All the remaining candidates promise more of the same. So good luck with all those socialistic fantasies of free health care for all.

It's not about what Obama does or doesn't do, it's about information voters need to judge Clinton as a candidate in a democratic process. If as widely accused, the Clintons are selling political influence to the highest bidders at home and abroad, directing public dollars to reward contributors and enriching themselves in the process. IF Hillary is running on being experience and fully vetted, why is she so affraid to show evidence of what she has done and have it scrutinized? Knowing the Clintons history, the answer is obvious: They have alot to hide.

Stop and think about the last few days. Obama is clobbered on his rev. 30 second rhetoric within a 35 year career - no context - just good old fear mongering by the MSM. Why? Easy it sells lots of newsprint, it employs thousands of Pundits and millions of advertising dollars. Is there anything concrete about the connection? Probably not but who cares - Not CNN - not MSNBC - and sure as hell not FOX!!!

Now think about the statement that the Clinton campaign is making about tax returns, library donors and First Lady WH records. These things offer CONCRETE EVIDENCE about how the Clinton's have made their $$$ over the last 8 years, who made large donations to build their legacy and what ACTUAL experience Senator Clinton had during her service as First Lady. If we want to know what type of person we are electing to office do we concentrate on the words of people that surround them or do we concentrate on the ACTIONS of those individuals. The answer is easy - but the voters that make those decisions don't have to meet with their SHAREHOLDERS. The TRUTH is obscurred behind the veil of CORPORATE PROFIT. Of course Clinton will not release her earmark list. Since taking office in 2001, Clinton has delivered $500 million worth of earmarks that have specifically benefited 59 corporations. We need to see all the post presidential tax returns, Hillary's White House papers, the donor list of the Clinton Library, and Hillary's legislative earmarks. There is no acceptable reason for her to refuse to give the public this transparency and accountability.
