Bish Kills The Brand

Washington Post :

While all eyes were on the presidential campaign and the demise of New York Gov. Eliot L. Spitzer (D) last week, Republicans on Capitol Hill were suffering a run of bad news that could hold dire implications for the campaign season.

It started with the loss last weekend of the seat held for two decades by former House speaker J. Dennis Hastert (R-Ill.). It got worse when Republicans lost potentially strong challengers to Democratic senators in South Dakota and New Jersey, and failed to field anyone to oppose the reelection bid of Sen. Mark Pryor (D-Ark.).

The latest blow came with the revelation that the former treasurer of the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) had allegedly diverted hundreds of thousands of dollars -- and possibly as much as $1 million -- from the organization's depleted coffers to his own bank accounts.

Good -friggin -bye and good-friggin-riddance to a bunch of slimy slugs who have sold America down the river. May they all rot in hell for what they've done to MY country.....and may the Republican Party....as it is now represented...be gone forever! If you idiots were so eager to elect such a moron that you would lie...cheat...and steal to get your pitiful and pathetic candidate into the Oval Office....don't come crying to me. I hope your suffering is near eternal....and that your so-called "leaders" are all soon fitted for the Abramhof style of orange jump suits.
Prison is far too good for the likes of Bush...Cheney....Rumsfeld...Wolfowitz...Leith....Adington and the rest of that stinking batch of treasonous slime who would destroy America for a brief shot at power. Suffer in silence, you stinking, rotten bunch of trash!!!

And if you think the news s bad now----just wait until the system finally catches up with the likes of DeLay, Jerry lewis, Ted Stevens, Pete Dominici---if his health doesn't do him in first. Then there are the "other" slugs...Rush Limp Dick....Sean "Beady eyes" Hannity...Ann "I used to be Dan" Coulter...and the rest of the pathetic water carriers for these resident thugs now occupying space in Washington. Your time is at hand....and I hope you reap what you have sown. One more "GO TO HELL!"...and I'm outta here!

"While all eyes were on... Republicans on Capitol Hill were suffering a run of bad news"

Republican bad news and a distracted media at the same time! What a coincidence!

Interesting, isn't it, that the Republicans ONLY finally see the light once the Corrupt Clown Presidency effects hit their wallets?

Never mind that he and Cheney and Rumsfeld lied to all of us - constantly!
Never mind that Bush held hands with the Saudis, including the bin Ladens, as far back as while he was a young businessman.
Never mind that his father made billions conspiring with Saddam Hussein and that every member of the Bush family made money by engaging in theft of Oil-for-Food funds.
Never mind that Bush had no clue as to how to run a country.
Never mind that Bush doled out billions to his far right friends' "faith-based" businesses but starved the working poor.
Never mind that veterans are losing out and the elderly will die of lack of health-care in greater numbers than ever since FDR.

Never mind that Americans elected Bush.
The first time may be forgiven.
The second time ...NO!

Well speak for yourself. I have done quite well during this administration with buying two houses a bunch of land and a portfolio that has produced 25% return. The oil stocks have done quite nicely I might add. There is money to be made in any administration, that is unless you pull up a chair at the government table and are expecting to be spoon fed.

Ask yourself which Democratic candidate would be most likely to launch widespread investigations into the Bush Administration's assault on our nation.
Hint:
It's an easy answer.

Would it be the one who lauds the Repugs as the party of ideas or the one who thinks Mccain has the experience?

If you are going to bandy about semi quotes at least try to keep them in context. Mr. Obama never said the the republican party was a party of good ideas, but that their ideas shaped the last 20 to 30 years of american policies.

Nobody has forced Bush to TAKE RESPONSIBILITY for any of his actions or inactions.

Bush LIVES ON EASY STREET after screwing middle-income Americans whom he's bankrupting and
killing in the REPUBLICAN WARS [FOR-PROFIT invasions].

Will Americans be SILLY WUSSES who vote Republican over and over and over
so they can be SCREWED OVER & OVER & OVER?

After all the DAMAGE, will Americans STOP DRINKING REPUBLICAN KOOL-AID?

Why should Dubya do anything different to the Republican brand than he did to the American brand?

We will be decades recovering from his presidency, and since people don't live in the long run, George W. Bush will have destroyed millions of lives.

Heckuva job, Bushie.

Seriously, when your party name is THIS disgraced, you shouldn't stick with the sinking ship. The Whigs reformed as the Republicans. The Republicans can reform as something else.

I wouldn't say that so quickly. Let's see who is standing as the Dem candidate when the smoke clears and what it costs the Party for her to have gotten there. I maintain that the only reason the GOP won the last two was because the Dems elected "Stiff and Stiffer" (Gore and Lerch).

Yea, but getting this country back on track will take at least another eight to ...? And the suffering will continue for many years to come. This is a lesson that must be taught in history classes so that generations have a very clear cut idea what to look for in governed officals.

It's there own fault. During the run-up to the war in Iraq, what few of us there were out here screaming for a halt in the hysterical madness were watching helplessly as the Republican members in Congress got on board the Bush Bus for war based on shear partisan loyalty.
.
The war should never have been a partisan issue. Even the people we now justifiably call "Christianists" got on board because of party loyalty and because....well....most of these people are what the social psychologist Bob Altemeyer has labeled "right-wing authoritarian followers," those who prefer to follow authoritarian figures who stand for the received conventions of the Zeitgeist even to point of physical enforcement on their behalf, enforcement that include hate crime, rather than to think for themselves.
.
Thus, we have slipped into an authoritarian regime rationalized by the Vice President and his cabal of Machiavellian neoconservatives as “the unitary presidency.” At the same time we are told that such “unitary” authoritarianism is necessary during times of war – a precept that even the Supreme Court is willing to reinforce based on precedent provided during a national history of near continuous warfare. We are told that the Administration’s Goebelian-like construct, “The War on Terror,” will last generations, indeed “a hundred years” according to the Straussian influenced precepts of the neoconservative movements own Policy for a New American Century, their political and economic plan for “a new world order,” the empire know affectionately to many of us as Pax Amerikana.
.
John McCain is shilling out their BS by rote. He is behind the "war on terror" even if it lasts for a hundred years. He was caught using the very language of the Straussians who would now feed him at the trough of infamy, manipulating his vanity and pedestrian ambition with their "noble lies."
.
It was all lies. And guess what you bunch of “Republican” idiots? WE TOLD YOU SO! Now, instead of raking it in and running to the bank laughing all the way with your noses in Jack Abramoff's butt, you’re in the sty with the rest of us. The Carlyle Group cratered just this week. City Bank, Smith Barney, Bank America, all in trouble.
.
Thank you so much, partisan patriots everyone!
.

Bingo Newsy you win a nice fat wet cigar.

If anyone cares to read an honest history of America one will find that ,"It was all lies." is a recurring theme.

From the genocide of aboriginals to the War of Idependence to the Mexican, Spanish , Vietnam and Iraq wars the governing class fed lies to the gullible majority.

In all these wars of aggression one has to marvel at the 'danger' these small outmanned outgunned nations posed to America.
N'er mind it's always easy to whip a majority of the American populance into a war frenzy.
And there is always a segment of the population eager to reap the profits thereof.

As a lifelong Democrat, I can honestly say that the devil you know is better than the devil you don't. I would rather stomach a couple of extra years of W (of whom we know what to expect, etc) rather than take a chance on Hillary in the (shudder) White House. This is one Dem who would never vote Repugnican, but who really doesn't know if he could ever bring himself to pull the lever for Hillary. I have never said that about a Democrat before.

Sad to say I think I am with you on this. Clinton has totally alienated me.
If she is able to steal the nomination I am not sure what I will do.
It will be a great lose for the Democratic party if she steals it.

Wow!

So you'd be happy with a Republican President appointing more lifetime federal judges including supremes.

And with further gutting of the us government's already weakened regulatory agencies.

And with new and longer wars.

I don't understand.

What precisely is the horror that Sister Hillary will commit in the White House than drives you to this point?

It's funny when he says "it's hard work" ,as if the guy has experienced working a day in his life. I'd say it's better if he takes the rest of the year off. Imagine how much more damage he could have done if he didn't take all those vacation hours.
