Clinton Superdelegate

MSNBC News:

By our count, the Clinton campaign hasn't publicly announced the support of a new superdelegate since just after February 5. Indeed, since Super Tuesday, Obama has gained 47 new superdelegates, while Clinton has lost seven (including Eliot Spitzer). Does Clinton have a bigger problem on the superdelegate front than folks realize? Why do we think party leaders -- who saw the Democrats lose governorships, state legislatures, and the control of Congress during the Clinton years -- suddenly jump on board the Clinton campaign? Isn't this the reason the Clinton campaign has only been able to keep uncommitted supers from climbing board Obama's bandwagon but they haven't been able to woo a new super to their side in a month? ? Isn't this also an explanation for why the Clinton campaign has done so poorly in the caucuses? The caucuses are made up of the activists who follow this stuff closer and think about things like electability and who can help the party keep Congress, etc. If Clinton's not winning over caucus activists, why should we believe she'll win over a large enough chunk of superdelegates to overcome Obama's pledged delegate lead? Ultimately, her best chance is to convince supers that Obama is completely unelectable on par with McGovern, an argument that might have been helped a tad by Rev. Wright.

The real news here is that Clinton assuming that Obama has his hands full with the Jeremiah Wright episode, trivialized Obama and went after McLame........There assuming that those two are the REAL candidates. Why is that Hillary reminds me of the kid hiding in the bushes watching the chaos she created?

Would someone please pass along to the Clinton campaign the following message: Even if by manipulation, private promises, coercion and outright lying Hillary Clinton is able to steal the Democratic nomination, there are millions of us (some, like me, lifelong Dems) who will never vote for her. If she is nominated, John McCain is guaranteed to win the election. She is coasting along on the Hillary Highway thinking that she can swing some miraculous comeback, completely disregarding what voters are doing and saying. She's in a dream world, and somebody (HOWARD DEAN, are you listening?) needs to wake her up. HC claims that her marriage is a working partnership. OK, let's say that's true. So, we already gave the Clintons TWO opportunities in the 1990s. Result? NAFTA stole jobs from the United States and put us at the mercy of sweatshop owners in China who do not follow safety guidelines in manufacturing. Gay rights? "Don't ask, don't tell." NO health care plan. NO increase in consumer safety regulation. A widening gap between the rich and poor, with the Clintons cheering for the rich and their "wise investments." And as a bonus prize: Paula Jones, Gennifer Flowers, Monica Lewinsky, Juanita Broaddrick...

Enough is enough. All the Clintons brought us was shame. They need to go home and figure out what's wrong with THEM, before they try to fix anybody else.

Yet, we sit and wait for what?? Clinton to torpedo Obama and Obama to carpet bomb Clinton? This is blatantly abusrud. I will have a lot more respect for the SD's who overcome their cowardice and committ their pledge in order to stand up for the party they have promised to support, than I will the SD's who are praying for Armegeddon to hit before the convention so they won't have to vote.

This is exactly what my friends and I have discussed. Isn't it more then likely that all of Clinton's most ardent super delegate supporters would have signed on right away-back when she looked like the inevitable winner?? I've long argued that the 256 or so supers she signed up represented her entire super delegate support , because I've always felt that the time most would've believed in her was before this primary process started. Hasn't she only looked weaker each week (barring a couple breathes that allowed her to continue)?? She's been losing this primary race since day 1 (Obama has had the pledged delegate lead every single day of the primary season). I always thought the fact that there are some 797 supers and ONLY 256 came out for her showed that the majority of supers were actually more inclined to NOT support Hillary. And that explains why there has not been any positive movement towards her. This race is completely over, she needs to catch up in pledged delegates to win, since there is NO evidence that the supers are willing to over-ride the voters. In fact, all the evidence points to the contrary, just see any of House Leader Nancy Pelosi's recent comments on the matter. Hillary should stop wasting Dem's money and time and leave with some dignity now. There is no Hillary Clinton path to victory. Period.

One reason she is not picking up new super-delegates could be that people are finally realizing that she is NOT fully vetted.

Here's an update on the Peter Paul vs. Clintons lawsuit:

Looks like some of the media is finally starting to report on this story.

The hearing to set the date of the trial is TODAY!

Nice articulation of Hillary Clinton's elephant (no pun intended) in the room.

It won't be long before Billary starts their "superdelegates" are undemocratic rant. Then it will all be about the big states which Billary won.

BTW, how are they planning to hold on to their delegates in the caucus state conventions? As caucuses are undemocratic, and the ones that Billary lost don't count, why are they even asking their delegates to go to conventions? Should they not be striking, like the writers on Kos?

Question: how many of the superdelegates who have announced for Obama since Super Tuesday have done so since the Ohio/Texas primaries, and of those, how many are among the 50 who were rumored to be about the announce for Obama just prior to the Ohio/Texas primaries? Does anyone out there know?

Hillarry can no longer become President.

Only if she continues to ruthlessly attack Obama can she convince enough super delegates to support her. But if she does that she will lose the Obama supporters she need to win the general election. She needs to accept this or she will do more than just danage Obama she will destroy the Democratic party.

She wants him to lose. Cause then she can say, "I told you so." That'll leave her free to run in 2012 and since the American public has a such a short-term memory, they'll probably forget everything she's done in the past few months.

Hillary Clinton only has an interest in the Democratic Party if it will nominate her. She wants others to be loyal to her, as we saw in her campaign personnel choiceds. But she has no interest in loyalty to anything other than herself.
