WASHINGTON — Elton John will help Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton raise cash for her presidential campaign with a solo concert next month at Radio City Music Hall in New York.

"I'm not a politician but I believe in the work that Hillary Clinton does," the British musician said in a statement released by the Clinton campaign Monday.

Tickets for the "Elton and Hillary: One Night Only" performance April 9 go on sale Wednesday. Prices start at $125 for mezzanine seats, $250 for seats near the orchestra.

Last October, Clinton held a star-studded fundraiser to celebrate her 60th birthday. Comedian Billy Crystal and rockers Elvis Costello and the Wallflowers headlined the event at New York's historic Beacon Theater, which raked in more than $1.5 million for Clinton's presidential bid.

I saw Elton when he kicked off his current Solo Tour in Portland Maine (Feb 28, 2008) and for those of you who say he is washed up you obviously know nothing about music. His music may not be your preference but hell he played the piano for 2 hrs and 45 mins taking breaks only long enough to take a sip of water between songs. And the old fart is 60. As another poster pointed out he has the record for hits over 40 yrs. And if you listen to his ENTIRE body of work over those 40 yrs you would see that there isn't many genres he hasn't covered. My only regret is that the money I paid for my ticket didn't go to Hillary.

I would like to respond to the following statements.
"The Clinton's totally sold out the gay people at every opportunity"
Do you remember that Obama made appearances with a hate monger and anti-gay preacher that once appeared at G W Bush's campaign?

"Isn't Elton John a citizen of the United Kingdom? Are we now the "United Kingdom of the United States"? "
Not sure on this, but it is very possible that he has a duo citizenship because he lives in Georgia and spends a lot of time in Vegas.

"125 dollars a pop for a ticket and Hillary Clinton is for the average person. Not even in her dreams who is she trying to fool, herself."
and
"I'm glad they found a way to keep your average income earner out of the concert! A true step in the right direction for the folks that really matter - the rich. My compliments to Hillary for disqualifying the lower income folks. "
So neither of you remembered that Oprah's fundraiser was $100's a plate and didn't allow any
"regular" people in?

"One night only? He's on a tour, playing small towns like Sudbury and Kitchener Ontario etc.. One night only.."
The event is entitled 'One Night Only,' not his other concert apearances.

"he's been irrelevant for decades?"
and
"Washed-up singer shills for washed-up politician"
Elton John has recored the biggest selling single in history in the last decade. His last album debutted in the American top ten. He also holds the record for the the most consecutive top 40 songs in consecutive years. His live shows consistantly are sold out. Sounds pretty far from been "washed up."

The comments stating the Elton= gay and Hillary = gay is juvenile.

Go Elton! The worst thing that could possibly happen to this country would be the swearing in of Barack Hussein Obama as President. Geez, what a laughing stock America would be made out to be then! Those outside the U.S. think we're complete idiots already and those promoting the racist campaign of Barack Hussein Obama only add more proof that we are totally stupid.

Best wishes to Elton and his fund raiser for Mrs. Clinton. She would make a fine President of the U.S. and certainly return the dignity and respect America needs so desperately.

Those who say such awful things about Senator Clinton are not doing a service to Senator Obama. It makes him look as if he is inciting people to be cruel and hateful. I don't think he is doing this so why don't you follow his lead and speak respectfully while still get your point across?

Oh yeah? Somebody (Obama) call the Dave Matthews Band...quick.
LOL.
That damn band can sell out Radio City Music hall ...or any other hall, quicker then anybody.

Hold on here. Wake up. I deeply support Obama, but the anti-Hillary rudeness responding to this essentially trivial news item is a real problem. Are you all really Obama supporters? Much of this is so far from the civility and respect that Obama tries to insist on that I can't help but wonder if you get his message at all.

That civility and respect you claim is so far from the truth. Barack Hussein Obama is a wolf in sheep's clothing. He is a racist and a bigot. His lifetime association with his own racist church clearly demonstrates that but stupid people will believe him when he says "I had no idea... I am appalled that my pastor would make such racist comments..." Total bullpucky. Barack Hussein Obama is as big a racist and bigot as his pastor. People should distance themselves from him as quickly as possible. If elected President he will destroy not help this country.

Why is that every time Huffington throws out a photo of Hillary it's some kind of silly shot that makes her look foolish? I've yet to see anything of the kind featuring Obama.

It's less than honest and a disservice to those who frequent the site.

Oh...I think that whoever matches the photos to the titles here at HP deserves a big fat raise.
Many, many times they make me LOL
...nothing to do with Hillary, I just wanted to say that.

Hillary and Elton John

WP's The Sleuth reports that Elton John is playing a benefit concert for the Clinton campaign in New York on April 9th.

Citing Mr. John's previous statements in his prior endorsements, the Sleuth wonders "what he'll call Hillary" this time.

Perhaps he'll sing:

'And it seems to me

You run your campaign

Like a candle in the wind...

Never knowing what persona

We will find you in;

And when the phone rings out at 3

Which one will answer it?

Your candle flickers long before

We'll find the one that's hid'

Or hidden, as the case may be."

All money from all foreigners is welcome in the Clinton pay to play game and always has been. They play with the same dirty boys as the Bushes - dictators like Nursultan A. Nazarbayev and swarthy financiers like Canadian mining financier Frank Giustra who co-produced Bill's 60th pay to play birthday party with Chelsea and wife Hillary. Frank is the pay-to-play guy who got the oil deal in Kazakhstan after Bill visited George Bush and daddy Bush's buddy, President for life Nazarbayev, via Frank's private jet while on a so-called a three-country philanthropic tour. The article details how Giustra then "donated" over $130 Million to Bill's "foundation" - see second NY Times article. Is this why Hillary won't come clean on their tax filings?

Hillary newest scandal:

Go to www.lasuperiorcourt.org (Los Angeles Superior Court)

and look in the CIVIL Column, then Click on CASE SUMMARIES then enter these numbers in the box BC304174. It is an ACTIVE CASE and has been since January. Sen. Clinton has not disclosed it. She needs to disclose this along with her tax returns and ear-marks and library donors.

Come on HuffPost - please do a story about this and expose the truth!

He is a music legend, and a hero to the LGBT community. Good to see he is stepping up for Hillary!!!!

THANKS ELTON!!!

Of course, Obama is the stronger candidate re: LGBT issues, since he is in favor of the complete repeal of Bill's DOMA and "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," while Hillary is only in favor of the partial repeal of DOMA.
