Bill: I'm Hillary's "Rural Hitman"

Touting her as "the best prepared to lead this country," Bill Clinton this afternoon kicked of his wife's presidential campaign in Indiana.

The former president said his argument for why Sen. Hillary Clinton is the best candidate for president is three-fold: She is better prepared to turn around the economy, best-qualified to serve as commander in chief and the most likely to defeat Sen. John McCain the November election....

Clinton dubbed himself as the "rural hitman" of his wife's campaign, and said he enjoys taking his wife's campaign to places like Lawrenceburg, a small blue-collar town just across the state line from Cincinnati.

Bill, 2 stories on here today about you. One about your ties to Walmart and one where you are telling rural workers how you and Hill are there for them.... what to believe, what to believe ?

He did a fabulous job for her in rural Texas. He'll do a great job for her in Indiana, too.

COME ON INDIANA!

AnninCA - This comment probably won't get posted since it is derogatory, but your comments make my stomach turn. You are the ultimate Huffington Post troll. Are you capable of higher order thinking? Your posts suggest no.

Mr. Clinton, you have done more to degrade and bring embarrassment upon the office of the presidency, than I ever thought possible. Yet you make a return to the White House a target for your distortion of the facts, inaccurate hyperbole and defamation. Your campaign to return to the Oval Office as co-president is not only one of the most obnoxious scenarios which I have witnessed in my lifetime, but completely subverts the purpose of the 22nd Amendment to the Constitution. It is more than obvious that you and your spouse have no sense of shame or dignity and are fit to rule only in a banana republic where you may swindle, peddle influence and philander to your heart's delight without the restraint of law, ethics or morality. Only you sir, only you and Mrs. Clinton, would be capable of making the Republican Party appear a better choice for the country's leadership.

Hillary Clinton is no more than Liberal revenge
Barack Obama could be an American awakening

Which do we prefer?

Bill is a two-faced liar, corrupt and untrustworthy. Release the tax returns and the Wh records so we know just how you have sold this country to your sheik friends. Until then, you have no credibility. You are not a real demeocrat.

Oh bubba, you're such a card! I always love hearing those lines... "she's the best qualified to lead..."

Man, I roll on the floor when you hurl that stuff out there with a straight face! You're like Andrew Dice Clay, only with fewer cuss words and millions more dollars in the bank from elite corporate buddies.

President Clinton tells a joke and you Obama cult lovers lie about it. Or maybe you just don't get it. Not surprising.

You better begin to worry what the Repugs will do with this information about the Clintons, and why they want her to be the Nominee.

This is a really significant article to feed the anti-Hillary frenzy. One joking line by Bill is extracted out and made to seem significant. Thank God he didn't say something like "It's great to be here in Indiana" and then lite up a cigar. Your headline would be "Bill Clinton blows smoke at Indiana crowd." Or if he sneezed and used a handkerchief you'd have a headline "Bill Clinton waves the white flag in Indiana." Or if he laughed: "Bill Clinton ridicules voters in Indiana." Say it isn't so, Arianna.

Bill, you were an excellent president in your terms. I was a fan of your wife up until you decided to help her campaign. I realized then that she would always be in your shadow, and I would have wanted to see what HER ideas (not yours) could produce. I feel now that were she to win the presidency, you would 'act out' repeatedly because your ego feels challenged. Monica Lewinsky was just getting you started.

Dude; you were great.

Now please go away before you embarrass yourself any further.
Oh, yes, I am voting for Obama.

You know, I've often heard Bill Clinton described as a brilliant campaigner. During this campaign, though, he has made some really bizarre statements. It's making me wonder if he's losing his mental faculties.

"I'm Hillary's rural hitman"?? What does that even mean? Does he think he's still filming that awkward "Sopranos" parody video Hill and Bill used to kick off her campaign?

Huff Post just posts articles negative to Clinton. They totally ignore Obama's pastor and Obama's knowledge of the bigotry hoping it will go away.

REading about his speech on here versus other site? It's funny! The speech fell flat to a great many political writers.

Not here. *haha

President Clinton, who deserves better than some of these remarks, nevertheless is striking a distinctly odd profile in this campaign. He is entitled and we should respect his desire to support his wife's candidacy, but his performance is increasingly the silly creation of an imagination that is not conscious of its own freakishness. He is in danger of becoming perceived (unfairly in my view) as grotesque and foolish. To the extent he allows that to happen, he is his own worst enemy. He needs to have some respect for his legacy and for himself.

Bill, sorry bro, I voted for you twice, went door to door in NH, but you are a corrupt, dirty, unethical bum who polluted the political landscape and overstayed your welcome. You should have the audacity of genuine shame and have exited stage left a long time ago with Senator Cankles

"Someone who will make your life better." Like with mandates that penalize people?

Look, eight years of pappa Bush have proven that we don't need a new parent, momma Clinton. The government has a job to do but can not take care of everyone and everything. The people need to take more responsibility and work together outside of government yet we'll be divided as ever should she snake her way to the WH.

I don't want Billary the dysfunctional duo having their eyes and hands in our personal lives. No wonder she supported the Patriot Act and didn't have time to vote against immunity for the telecom companies; she knew she'd run for president and have all the access Bush currently enjoys.

The Clintons and Bush's need to go live together, in one of their paid for haunts in Saudi Arabia. Let's pick the constitutional law professor, who will uphold our laws and stay out of our lives.
