Clinton Hosted Pro-NAFTA Briefing As First Lady

One interesting event in Sen. Hillary Clinton's just-released schedules from the 1990s comes on Nov. 10 1993, when the former first lady was to serve as the closing act during a briefing on NAFTA, the trade agreement she now assails....

"It wasn't a drop-by it was organized around her participation," said one attendee. "Her remarks were totally pro-NAFTA and what a good thing it would be for the economy. There was no equivocation for her support for NAFTA at the time. Folks were pleased that she came by. If this is a still a question about what Hillary's position when she was First Lady, she was totally supportive if NAFTA.

Keep in mind the same time he criticized Senator Clinton for NAFTA, an AP article came out where he made statements in favor of NAFTA and he also backed the Peru Free Trade Agreement.­. then there is the whole Canada incident.. Don't deny it Obama's campaign already stated they spoke to Canadian officials.­. (it was NOT Clinton) Obama fessed up to it..

I don't think either one of them will do much about NAFTA, but I do believe Clinton will succumb to public pressure and at least do something.­. the only candidates in the race that wanted to repeal it was Paul and Kucinich but their out so Clinton is the next best option

Hillary lies, time and time again, and the media rewards her for doing so. Obama is consistently truthful, and the media spins his truths to work against him.

Yeah, but now she sees things differently. Just like her support for the Iraq War has now fallen off the radar screen of acceptability, so she sees that continuing to support NAFTA is no longer advantageous for her politically. I guess one's perspectives change when the actual primary season is here, and positions that once looked to be poll-positive are now poll-tested to be negative. look for her positions to shift as the polls do in the future.
