The Rev. Al Sharpton is backing Barack Obama, but he's made the strategic decision to keep his support quiet.

That's the message Sharpton delivered to his flock last Saturday as he boasted of talking to Obama "two or three times a week" - and insisted the Democratic front-runner knows the rev is in his camp.

"I said, 'I'm gonna do whatever I gotta do to help you. Hillary Clinton has never done nothing for us,'" said Sharpton, recounting a conversation with Obama for his followers at his group's weekly rally.

Who cares what Sharpton thinks or says. He has no credibility in my eyes.

I'm interested in the issues (really, I am). We should constantly be asking ourselves what each candidate brings to the table? All these other distractions are just noise!

Did you guys see Al Sharpton grill Greta Van sustren?

Whole, that was one of most entertaining piece.

Sharpton kept asking her if she can quote any Wright quote that attacks white people.

It was crazy.

Sharpton is a respected member of the black community and it would be negligent for Obama not to except his calls. To get things done you have to work with those you both like and don't like. You also don't go pissing off your base by refusing to take calls from a representative of that base.

Gloria Steinem has said some pretty outlandish things as of late and has hurt Hillary's campaign because of it, but she is a icon of the feminist movement and if someone told me that Hillary was talking to her 2-3 times a week I could care less and certainly wouldn't be imagining some sort of nefarious relationship because of it.

The problem with news like this is that it lacks context and because it lacks context it's ripe for propaganda use and divisive imaginings.

Yes, Al, keep on keeping it quiet. Obama does not need anymore "Reverend" distractions. Stay on the sidelines and please, do not try to take the show away from him otherwise you will damage his quest for the Presidency. Be a good friend and shhh-shh, keep it quiet. Thanks.

First of all, I can tell right off that Sharpton is lying, his lips are moving. I remember him from way back in NY from the Tawana Brawley days, he's an opportunist and liar. The media is playing this, as if what Sharpton says is truth when even they know that it's not. I don't care who you support, if you're a thinking person, don't believe Al Sharpton.

"No Justice. No Peace," chanted Reverend Sharpton as he marched in support of the Jena 6. I'd say it's another Obama contradiction that will have to be explained after he disassociates himself from another outspoken, angry servant of God.

In the full article, Sharpton says he speaks with Obama 2-3 times a week. If Obama has time to speak to this self-serving poverty pimp, he's just proven his judgment to be commander-in-chief is sorely lacking.

I don't believe Al Sharpton for one split second. He is an opportunist, pure and simple. If anything, he's probably mad that he's NOT getting attention from Obama that he feels entitled to so he's trying to trip Obama up, wouldn't surprise me in the least.

"Hillary Clinton has never done nothing for us,'"

"Us" being who Mr Sharpton?

Does that include everybody or just you and people like you?
