Gallup Pollsters: Hillary Now Leading Obama Among Democrats

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has moved into a significant lead over Barack Obama among Democratic voters, according to a new Gallup poll.

The March 14-18 national survey of 1,209 Democratic and Democratic-leaning voters gave Clinton, a New York senator, a 49 percent to 42 percent edge over Obama, an Illinois senator. The poll has an error margin of 3 percentage points.

My bet is that she will not get the nomination and she won't stay in the lead for long. Gone are the days of Clintonian dirty politics and dirty tricks. And gone are the days when Democrats are dumb enough to reinstall an impeached President in the White House - and the woman who suffered the lies and humiliations that spanned those 35 years we keep hearing about. I think the Clintons should stop themselves before they both lose their legacies. Time for new thinking. Time to put the Clintons behind us. Time for character and brains in the White House.

Obama spoke about his own grandmother.

That is what makes Obama's comment about her being typical - so insensitive to me.

This is a woman who gave part of her life to him.

And he has the stupidity and ungratefullness to call her typical.

He was brainwashed by the black community of his wife and Rev Wright to think he had to make a racial choice.

This is all so different than what Dr King tried to teach us - to judge character, not skin color.

This is reverse racism that we are seeing by black people. This is black nationalism.

They so want a chance to tell us once again about black resentments.

I am watching the local news here to find out about what exactly happened with our re vote here... but so far all the coverage has been about our very nawtee Mayor.... that in itself is an interesting story, as I think the lawyer heading the attack on him, is a long time rival who has lost the run for mayor and other offices as well.... They have said nothing so far on the local news, but I have a feeling it came down to the money.... Hillary had told our legislature that she had arranged private funding through some of her big money supporters.... Yikes!!! So, as Michigan currently has no money, I think they just shrugged their shoulders and gave up.... Oh well.... I can vote for Senator Obama come November... ; ) That will make up for it.... and at least that doesn't give any more delegates either.... so all in all, yes I am disappointed, but hopefully it will all work out in the end....

I'm not trying to stir the pot, but why are so many people offended that Obama didn't hold his hand over his heart during the National Anthem? It is usually customary to stand and gentlemen remove their hats. Period. It is the Pledge of Allegiance that invokes the heart - crossing ritual.
And besides - technically speaking - showing obeisance to ANY symbol is biblical idolatry... a big no-no. What true Christian would put idolizing a flag or anthem above being obedient only to God?
I'm just curious. I am not religious but I do know biblical verse well. I can't understand all of the contradictions involved in being a patriotic Christian.

If I had my way, the franchise in the primaries would be limited to party members of six years standing, who had voted in the last three federal elections, and who had donated a minimum of 50 hours per year to the party over the last three years.

I'd have more permissive rules for people under the age of 28.

I know it would be denounced as elitist and too close to a poll tax, but I'd like voters to be able to pass the citizenship test my immigrant wife had to pass. I was disturbed to find, while helping her study, that many of our otherwise intelligent friends are woefully ignorant of eighth grade level civics. Richard Dreyfuss is right: if we don't start emphasizing Civics and US History (the real one), we'll keep on going down the drain with the most uninformed populace in a syphilized society.

If Obama is fringe, then fringe is exactly what I want. I am sick of our traditional politicians.

It is only once in a few generations that a true visionary comes along who dares to challenge the conventional wisdom and makes big and good things happen. I don't yet know if Obama is that kind of a visionary, true, but we would never know unless we put him in the White House.

I, for one, admire those who defied odds in the past and said "yes, sure we can land on the moon", and they made it happen. There were enough naysayers then, calling the visionaries all kinds of names, as you are doing now.

So, as far as I am concerned, Obama it is. I just wish I had supported this man from the beginning.
