Hillary Clinton

Time.com:

1. She can't win the nomination without overturning the will of the elected delegates, which will alienate many Democrats.

2. She can't win the nomination without a bloody convention battle -- after which, even if she won, history and many Democrats would cast her as a villain.

3. Catching up in the popular vote is not out of the question -- but without re-votes in Florida and Michigan it will be almost as impossible as catching up in elected delegates.

I have seen many campaigns, both parties. I do not believe I have ever seen, until Hillary came along, the most basic rule broken, which is do not tear down your opponent in such a way that the other party benefits. Not to mention, praising the other party's candidate while bashing your own. As the Obama team has pointed out, she has a truthfulness problem (NAFTA, Iraq, etc). So maybe when she does drop out, they can excuse her offenses as part of this truthfulness problem, on the presumption she did not really mean all those things, but was just saying them to advance her own ambitions. The main thing now is, she must step aside very soon. It is time for all-out, unified campaigning by Democrats against McCain (aka four more years of Bush). McCain has shown in the past two weeks how weak a candidate he is, if only the Democrats can get together and get to campaigning against him. Give McCain more time to get his act together better, and it will be costly to Democratic hopes. Hillary can simply say she wants to maximize Democrats' chance to win by stepping aside and embracing the Obama candidacy. No need for confessions and apologies. People can sort all that out. The time is now, or very soon.

I have my 14 realities.

1. Obama cannot win a national election.
2. He has failed to win even the big Democratic states.
3. McCain is now ahead in Mass of both candidates, ahead by more going against Obama (notwithstanding Kerry and Kennedy's endorsement)
4. Obama will not carry Utah, Idaho, Georgia, Alabama, Nebraska, etc.
5. Hillary is leading by double digits in PA
6. Hillary won Florida and Michigan - even though Obama broke the rules and advertised in Florida
7 Obama has alienated the middle class in Ohio
8 He lied about getting the troops out of Iraq
9 He lied about NAFTA
10 He lied about his association with Rezko and the amount of money he took from him for his campaign
11 The trial of Rezko is just beginning there will probably be more coming out
12 What about Obama's association with the Weather Underground individuals? That will help him with the middle class in PA.
13 His Illinois record in the State senate has still not been released
14 Obama gets the nomination and loses 40 states or more.
Welcome President McCain. The left wing has again grabbed defeat from the jaws of victory.

And who here thinks Hillary cares? She is only concerned with her own sense of entitlement. Her ego needs the feed of this chaos and destruction. It's her history.

yeah she knows these things, she JUST DOESN'T CARE.

it's all about what hillary wants, to hell with the consequences.

sounds a lot like the president we've had for the past 7 years.

Here's what I want to know? I believe it is next to impossible for Senator Clinton to win this nomination. But the reality of the situation is that Senator Obama can't close the deal. If he is as good as everyone says he is, why isn't this over? It's not over because there is a significant portion of the population (especially among Democrats) that do not believe in him, that do not drink the Obama flavored Kool Aid, that do not trust him, that do not respect him, that have the same feelings for him that many of you on this site have for Senator Clinton. I have these feelings not because I am racist, not because I don't desire change, not because I'm not hopeful...I have these feelings about Senator Obama because I am realistic and I don't believe that he has any clue how to work the system to his advantage. The argument to that always seems to be that he will change the system...good luck! I feel as though Senator Obama is incredibly naive and utterly unprepared for the realities of the situation he hopes to inherit. For these reasons I hope that Senator Clinton remains in this race to continue to speak for the multitudes who have no desire for her to drop out. Until Senator Obama proves that he can close the sale and secure this nomination there is no reason for her to drop out. If Senator Obama is truly as great and transcendental as he and many others seem to think he is then he should be able to find a way to shut this thing down...and until he does, any list of reasons why Senator Clinton should drop out is nullified by the one reason she shouldn't...Obama hasn't won this thing yet.

It's not over because the Clinton camp keeps scaring people with those things they know work with the American public - THE RACE CARD. So now it's up to the people. Either they let the Clintons dictate how you should feel while the cast Obama into the Boogie Man, which he is not or we SUPPORT OBAMA AND STOP LETTING THE MEDIA AND THE CLINTONS DISTRACT US. STOP PAYING ATTENTION TO THE DISTRACTIONS. Even the Rev Wright tape was way out of context as we now know. Stop losing focus. This is where the Clintons do their best work - the gutter!

I really think the only way that this can be settled is that one candidate has to drop out. Whichever one does will be heroic for the party and must endorse and campaign for the other one. Admittedly I am an adamant Obama supporter but let's say that if he dropped out saying that he wanted the party to win and will voraciously endorse and campaign for Hillary, it would be absolutely amazing and within the character I believe he has.
If Hillary dropped out and did the same it would also be a remarkable unity moment.
I know I am dreaming.....
I also believe that the candidate that drops out and asks their respective supporters to please get behind the other we can ensure that crazy McCain is not our next President.
I can barely stand this bickering anymore!!! Thoughts?

Obama has taken the high road throughout this campaing. That has to be tough against 2 Clintons but he is still standing and eloquent. So Hillary needs to take the high ground for the first time. Quite frankly, I don't think she has it in her. She will NOT work for the American people. As soon as she is in the White House she will be eyeing a second term just like Bush. I don't trust the Clintons. I trust Obama.

Maybe there are a few things Mark Halperin and the Obamanites should know. Half of the Democrats in this country are FOR Hillary Clinton. They are not keeping poor Obama from being President. It's a close race, he should learn to deal with it.

If he or his advisors have anything to do with continued discrimination of Michigan and Florida voters, WE WILL FIND OUT and Obama will be the one to pay the price for sneaky, underhanded manuevering.
Their are 1000 delegates left...plenty of numbers to go Hillary Clintons way, because pollings show that SHE is the one who can beat John McCain.

IIf this race is decided at the convention, Democrats will LOVE it...talk about drama, excitement, smoke-filled rooms. How fun it will be to get a view of the way it was once done. Much more fun than Barry insisting that Hillary take her toys and go home so he can win.

F**the old Bitch. Get off the stage. You and Bill are corrupt, tired and bigotted. You are divisive and have nothing to offer us. Move on.

Don't count Hillary out yet. Obama is bloodied up over the Rev. Wright scandal and his poll numbers are dropping.

Hillary will likely win Pennsylvania and can make a case to the Super Delegates that she's won all the big states. She can make the case at the Convention that she's more likely to win the general election. She can still win (or steal) the nomination.

The super delegates will not go with Senator Clinton. Consider the groups that back Senator Obama -- African Americans, liberals, progressives that make more than $50K per year -- and young people. African Americans, liberals, etc. -- these are the most loyal groups to the Democrats -- and young people are the future of the party. On the other hand, Senator Clinton's strength lies in groups that have often voted for the Republicans -- the so-called Reagan democrats -- the middle class that votes against its own interest for some crazy reason.

If the Democratic Party disenfranchises Senator Obama's core following -- it will be incredibly damaging to the Party. If the Party disenfranchises Senator Clinton's core following -- I believe women will still vote Democratic because McCain has already stated that he will appease the extreme right wing with an extremely conservative Supreme Court Justice which means that Roe v. Wade will be overturned. In addition, a large number of white males making less than $50,000 per year will likely go with McCain anyway.

Super delegates will not destroy the Party for the Clintons.

Rush and theocon Dominionist Republicans have been voting for Hillary in all states where they legally can do so. In OH, they could not, but still did. These McCain general election voters voted FOR Hillary in order to HURT Obama- the nominee that they fear. Corporate fascists want McCain versus Clinton....either shill will do.

Hillary and Bill want back into the WH for another eight years.....and scorched earth is their game.

When Clinton tried to make herself a war hero with that lying speech about landing in Bosnia and running to duck sniper fire, then the video showing her bending over to kiss a child on the cheek......will McCain have fun with that. Boy, do those Clintons lie !!!!! Almost as much as Obama will have by playing McCains speech about Baghdad being as safe as a U.S. shopping mall, then the video....... McCain in a Baghdad market, in a flak vest, surrounded by a company of marines, helicopter gunships overhead and marine snipers on all the rooftps. Boy, can that McCain lie !!!!!!!! I'd rather vote for a decent guy, even if he is African-American, than the lying White Trash he's running against. If only Edwards had stayed in-------!!!

I still have faith in the size of her kitchen sink. Go Hillary!

Her "stay the course" mentality is what turn sme off about her. Unable or unwillingness to redirect her course given current or impending circumstances.

I think we've had enough of "Stay the course". When asked about polls and the will of the people will she say . . . "So"?

It's all about her...I don't know what more proof people need.....She and her scummy husband would rather destroy everything than admit defeat. This is who they are in reality. Expect nothing honorable from them!
