These days, it seems everyone from the UPS man to your mother-in-law is a blogger. At last count, the blog search engine Technorati.com shows nearly 113 million blogs on the Internet, and it estimates that more than 120,000 blogs are created each day.

So why shouldn't pets have voices? At least that's the sentiment of lots of pet owners who have set up blogs for their dogs, cats, goldfish and hamsters to channel their household companions online.

It goes without saying that Max, a 3-year-old golden retriever can't talk. But that doesn't stop him from chronicling his dog's life -- as told to his owner Aubrey Jones -- on the blog Max the Golden Retriever.

There are trips to the dog park, musings on his owners' socks, confessions about crushes on poodles and, of course, his passion for tennis balls.

Since we're on the topic of dogs, Newsweek has an article on our favorite dog of all: Hachiko, the Akita.

In 1924, a noted professor at Tokyo University died after suffering a stroke. He was mourned and then, as we say in the 21st century, life moved on. That is, it moved on for everyone but his dog, Hachiko, who continued to meet his master's 4 o'clock commuter train at Shibuya station every day for the next nine years. The dog's intense loyalty became the subject of newspaper articles--he was eventually honored with a bronze statue and a postage stamp.

You can read more of Newsweek's article here or more on Hachiko and the Akita breed or here.

Hachiko's story is also being made into a movie starring Richard Gere.

Our AmStaff, Lucky, was a multimedia dog long before he started blogging. We found him at the shelter he was at by seeing him on TV. He also was on the radio and had his picture in a local paper, so naturally blogging was the next step.

http://luckychacha.blogspot.com/ - This came in handy when we kept our vet updated on his skin infection - canine MRSA. With two vets involved, it became an easy way to store information and keep us organized.

He also Twitters - http://twitter.com/luckychach/

And he has MySpace and Dogster pages. It is interesting to see the type of traffic he gets. If only JOTT had bark recognition as an option instead of text recognition!

Not being as cutting edge, my dog only has his own Myspace page. ::sigh:: Please don't tell him he could have his own blog all to himself, okay?

OK, it's my blog but I'm inspired by Daby, my Dachshund. We like to look at dog art every day. It's called Dog Art Today. Stop by and say woof : )

My cat, www.pdbudd.blogspot.com, blogs as often as I will let him get his paw on the laptop. He considers me his Typist as well as feeder, petter, cleaner, bed warmer, door opener and closer.
PD is basically a neurotic little being with a lot of opinions. Reveals the writer's true personality in a feline.
He also reviews some of his favorite products.
My other cat, Horatio Budd, has no interest in writing or reading, human language or conversation. He is a true cat, after all.
I write here on Huff Po sometimes using PD's identity. He likes it.
