Brian Kilmeade

Fox News' very own anchors are speaking out — and walking off — over what they perceive to be "Obama-bashing" on their network.

This morning on "Fox and Friends," Brian Kilmeade walked off the set after a dispute with his co-hosts Gretchen Carlson (she who celebrates deadly floods) and Steve Doocy over Obama's comment that his grandmother is a "typical white person." Kilmeade argued that the remark needed to be taken in context and eventually got so fed up with his co-hosts that he walked off set.

Later, "Fox News Sunday" host Chris Wallace came on the show and railed against "Fox and Friends" for what he called "Obama-bashing."

Watch both clips below (refresh your page if they don't load properly):

Brian Kilmeade walks off set over Obama dispute:

Chris Wallace rails against "Fox and Friends" for Obama-bashing

Update: Later that morning, Chris Wallace called into Brian Kilmeade's radio show to talk about the incident (apparently Steve Doocy was genuinely mad). Wallace also indicated that Fox execs might not have agreed with his position. You think? Find the audio here.

Just imagine for a second if Hillary said the words "typical black person", what would all of you be saying?

After reading over a thousand posts here at Huff, I am amused to see that the people that are commenting about race are showing racist qualities themselves. It is amusing to me to see the comments praising the Republican party, when they have been the party of Racism for years. So, when you talk about Reverend Wright's speech, remember that a white man made it first. When you talk about Reverend Wright's speech, remember that it has been stated before his sermon in the Bible. Get off your high horses and look back at your comments and see that you hold racism as much as the other person on the other side. These comments are what divide our great country. I have had bullets pulled from my body for protecting our freedoms in a war and then I read the same comments that have started other wars. If you don't like someone, just state that you don't like them. You don't have to take a meat grinder and try to butcher that person. Remember, you are the ones that have to live under the government that you elect. Oh, and one more thing. When the Republicans and George Bush allowed the largest tax cuts to Corporate America get passed eight years ago, remember what he said? This is the greatest aide to our economy that we could have ever passed. DUH........Boy, it sure has given a boost to our economy......We are really in good shape from these KAZILLIONAIRES making more money. Come'on people. Take your own racist remarks somewhere else and talk about facts, not fiction.

Seeing Gretchen Carlson and Steve Doocy in action (for the first time) TURNS MY STOMACH ... and compels me to APOLOGIZE to Barack Obama for THEM!

Calling Gretchen Carlson a "typical woman" would be putting it mildly! Brian Kilmeade walked away....which is the only sensible thing to do when you're confronted with a "TYPICAL WOMAN"!

Stay safe, healthy and happy,

Thank you Chris Wallace for showing the bravery to stand up to the senseless harangue that continued on Fox News for days on end regarding Obama and Reverend Wright and race. I believe Chris Wmust have taken after father, Mike Wallace: a man who wouldn't put up with the evil race-baiting behavior of the Fox News anchors. it's an absolute disgrace that Fox would care so little about the well-being of this country that they would deliberately and methodically set out to drive a wedge between the races. Shameful, absolutely shameful!

I really think Chris Wallace has become too moral and intelligent to stay at Fox News. I hope some other news channel offers him a position. And certainly, no matter where he would go, he would bring an improvement to the tone and tenor of what is currently the sorry state of 24 hour news in this country.

For those of you that are not aware, Rupert Murdoch, owner of FOX, held a fundraiser for Hillary Clinton's campaign on July 17, 2006, which raised $60,000. Roger Ailes attended although it is believed he did not donate. However, Rupert and his son, James, both gave personal donations to Hillary's campaign.

Hillary defended Rupert's fundraiser to the London Financial Times saying "He's my constituent and I'm very gratified that he thinks I'm doing a good job."

Interesting, isn't it, how unbalanced and unfair FOX noise has been lately regarding Obama. Maybe this explains a lot.

I have stayed away from the Blogs for the past 2 days..It's not good my health..I've even tried to lessen my viewing of all the MSM as well..A few opinions should anyone care to listen..

MSNBC-IMHO, something has happened since David Shuster was smacked down.. Joe Scarborough has become unable to be looked at as "Morning Joe" and has gone back to his "Scarborough Country" personality-Mica Brewzinski (pardon the spelling) sits there like a scared rabbit and lost any spunk previously shown-Tucker Carlson has found new freedom since losing his show, why he is kept on as an anylyst I can't figure out, he would be a much better fit at Fox News..Chris Matthews has been "berated" and "humiliated", so has waffled between pro-Obama and pro-Hillary "topics"-David Gregory's new show I have been unable to watch past the first 10 minutes, and I will end with the one and only Pat Buchanan..I used to have a lot of respect for Mr. Buchanan, although politicaly we have nothing in common, I admired his willingness to criticize the Iraq War blunders and some Bush policies, however his "intense dislike" (I'm trying to be kind) of Sen. Obama makes it impossible for him to say anything positive about him and on the rare occasion that he isn't "dissing" him, he seems in physical pain..As far as I'm concerned Keith Olbermann is the only person who has the B..LLS to speak his mind and not hide his bias, and I find it refreshing..
CNN-Can't get into the weeds here , it's such a "mixed bag", all I will say is that David Gergen is an asset who doesn't get enough credit for his objectivity, IMHO
FOX-I remember when the 2004 election was in process, the mantra was Osama Bin Laden wants John Kerry to be president, they even went so far as to have one of their "military anylysts" reporting from Iraq the OBL "endorsement of Kerry" as a "Fact" as though he has just come from the cave with his ballot in hand..Appalled as I was back then, this network is the most "Unfair and "Unbalanced" cast of characters the worst of which is Sean Hannity (if there can be worse), I put him in this category because of his obsession with the take-down of Barack Obama and it is frighteningto me that this man has 2 programs (H&C and Hannity's America) and a Radio Program as well..Alan Colmes is about the wimpiest Democrat I've seen, and he should be replaced ASAP..My dream program Shawn.. play a full sermon of Rev Wright, play a full speech by Anne Coulter to the "Young Repulicans", then tell me where the "Frank Luntz" poll puts them on the "Hate Speech" graph...
All in all, the role of the MSM has taken more twists and turns, that I keep the remote in my hand, not just beside me..

Dems who are trying so hard to defend the hypocricy and racism of Fox news are digging the party's grave, both with African Ameicans and progressives.

Prepare yourselves for Karl Rove's permanent Republican Majority, because that is what we are in for. It may not be permanent, but it will be there for at least the next 20 years.

And those who blame Obama for this are the chief enablers of Rove. Congratulations. You are helping this man realize his life's dream.

Mission accomplished.

Fox and Friends...What a bunch of morons, and to think that people actually watch this pathetic show and think it is "news." Yes, Fake News is more like it. Fox and Murdoch are a bane on the world. What with Hannity, O'Reilly and all of the other hate-spewing dragons, it is no wonder the country is in the toilet.

You might be a liberal if . . .
You think that consenting adults can engage freely in every activity except capitalism.
You named your children Moonglow and Arizona.

You think the really alarming violence takes place outside the abortion clinic.

You've ever referred to the "root cause" of something.

You pray to "The Woman Upstairs."

You think we never gave peace a chance.

You had to be told that "Manhattan," "menopause" and "boycott" were not sexist words

You begin sentences with the words "I feel."

Your driver's license has a hyphen because for you one last name just isn't enough.

You don't think "All in the Family" is a very funny program, but watch it anyway because Meathead makes a lot of sense.

You think OJ is out looking for the real killers.

You think Julia Sugarbaker is an astute social commentator.

You think it takes a village.

You think that the words "to promote the general welfare" in the Constitution mean to promote welfare generally.

You think that, even though more people voted against him than for him in both the 1992 and the 1996 presidential elections, Bill Clinton had a mandate.

You think that conservatives, like preservatives, ought to be federally regulated.

You ever wore earth shoes.

You have ever wondered out loud, "Why can't we all just get along?"

You think the New York Times prints all the news that's fit.

You think that Rush Limbaugh is just an entertainer.

You spent Columbus Day reading Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee.

You reach the limits of your talent and then complain that you ran into a glass ceiling.

You wear more ribbons on your lapel than in your hair.

You blame the Unabomber's parents.

You fail to see the connection between Lenin and Lennon.

You have ever agreed with Alec Baldwin or Rosie O'Donnell.

You are very intolerant of people who don't agree with your ideas of what constitutes tolerance.

I have already read Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee.

If Rush Limbaugh is anything more than an entertainer, he is a provocatuer or a demogogue on expertly plays on people's prejudices and fears of a changing world.

You are a conservative.....

If you celebrated when the cops who beat up Rodney King were released.

You hate it when Al Pacino yells "Attica! Attica!" in the movie Dog Day Afternoon and people cheer in response.

Your favority movie is Dirty Harry or Red Dawn starring Patrick Swazye who single-handedly defeats a Russian and Cuban invasion.

You purposely park in handicap spaces.

You think all newspapers have a liberal bias and therefore do not read them and limit yourself to Fox News.

You think Rush Limbaugh makes serious social commentary and that Bill O'Reilly is an independent.

You think it is the media's fault that we have not prevailed in Iraq.

You think it is a O.K. to ask anyone who looks Hispanic for their legal papers.

You leave your SUV running overnight so it is nice and warm when you get in it in the morning.

You think tax cuts are the solution to every social problem.

You might be a conservative if....

You're a bonehead.

That's it pure and simple.

You think that protestors outside nuclear power plants are dedicated activists, but protestors outside abortion clinics are dangerous zealots interfering with a legal activity.

You believe that even though the top 20 percent of taxpayers pay 80 percent of income taxes, that the rich are not paying their “fair share.”

You believe in global warming today just as firmly as you believed in global cooling back in the 1970s.

You mentally subtract 100 points from someone’s IQ if the person speaks with a Southern accent.

You are dedicated to helping the poor, the downtrodden and the less fortunate, but you have never given blood.

You have no problem with Hollywood movie stars flying around in private jets to give speeches on the evils of SUVs.

You deplore prejudice and bigotry in all its forms, but think that everyone in the “red states” is an idiot.

You are worried about how the French view Americans.

You believe that nativity scenes should be banned from public view, but that anyone objecting to pornography “only has to look the other way.”

I'll add one to the list:

From your Manhattan apartment, you root for hurricanes to kill Americans, but criticize President Bush for not showing empathy enough to suit you toward tsunami victims in Asia.

The one who roots for hurricanes to kill Americans is the evangelical preachers like Pat Robertson.

Nativity scenes are wonderful in public, but should be shown in a religious context next to a Hanukka candle and a Muslim star and crescent.

I care about relationships with our allies, the French included.

Everyone in the Red States is not a bigot or idiot. Jimmy Carter is from a red states. Like Obama said, "We are not a collection of red states and blue states, but we are the United States."

If you think Hollywood movie stars are constantly flying on private jets to give talks on global warming, you watch too much Fox News.

I have given blood on many occasions, but do no longer due to the high blood pressure medication I take.

Global warming science is backed up by 70% or more of the world's scientists. Have you seen any pictures of Anarctica relative to the 1970's lately?

The wealthy did benefit disproportionately by the Bush tax cuts and the economy is still in a shambles.

Protesters outside abortion clinics are dangerous zealots only when physically interfering with the work of the clinic. No one is thrilled with getting an abortion, which is a grave decision often made in desperation.

I have to agree with you on fox ,I dont think most people take them seriously. I remember when Senator Lautenberg of New Jersey ran for re-election after skipping one term, He won the election, all the cable channels carried the victory because it was remarkable, the New Jersey Democrats had put him up to run just three days before the election and he won,Fox Tv ommited to broadcast the news until late into the night. Also that Republican congressman Mark Foley from Florida ,when he was forced to resign for sending text messages to teenage interns Fox News identified him as a Democrat. When that Major ,whats-his-name, Garret ,I believe was interviewing Senator Obama last week on Fox ,it sounded like an interogation ,he ,Garrett sounded very hostile, like a State Police pulling you over on suspicion of DWI. , no wonder many people refuse to go on Fox,they cant get anyone to come on, Hannity has the same five or six people on over and over every night . Very unprofessional folks ,often times you can hear the camera men laughing in the background . Very sloopy unprofessionals . They hire and parade a lot of scanntilly clad women just to get the attention of the upper middle aged retired military men who make up a lot of their viewers .I could go on and on . When you go into a bank ,you never see Fox tv on.its always CNN . Thats because Fox has no credibility.

Also I am just reading another blog that Sean Hannity was friends to a NEO-NAZI from New Jersey. The name of the Neo- Nazi is Hal Turner. When confronted recently about his friendship with the Neo Nazi ,Hannity at first denied even having heard the name. Eventually he admitted friendship with the man,but said their relationship was severed a few years ago. Go on u-tube and type in Hal Turner. You will be shocked. Turner calls Barack Obama a half-breed N......... who does'nt belong in the White House. One of Turners callers to his radio show said the Government should cease trying to find a cure for AIDS until all the N,,,,,,,,, die off. Turner thanked the caller. This is the company Hannity keeps. Hannity states that he stop inviting his Nazi friend on his show several years ago. But in my view it probably economic. The corporate sponsers would not promote or advertise on his show, plus those closet racist politicians would not appear as guest for fear of being tarnished. Go to u-tube ,you will be shocked, its frightening. And to see Hannity playing the Wright tape over and over everyday ,He is worse than Limbaugh. I think he may even have a mental problem.

I certainly intend on treating the breakdown of message discipline at Fox with a cautious and juandiced eye. For at least 10 years, Fox has spoken with the same voice without exception. Now, Chris Wallace is so desperate to get Obama on his show he starts an " Obama Clock " on Sunday. On Friday, he finds a conscience and decries " Obama Bashing" amplified by Brian Kilmeade walking off the show. With all respect to Brian Kilmeade, I truly don't believe he's had an original thought in his life. For yours we've seen this guy act like Fox's bouncer. On Friday, he found his voice. I hope I'm wrong but if for the last 10 years I walked by my neighbor's pitbull and he tried to bite me, I certainly wouldn't try to pet him because he didn't try and bite me one day.

You left wing wackos just do not get it! You are being totally disingenuous when it come to Fox News. I know it kills you it is the number one channel new program. How did it get there? With viewers who can think on their own, not like the left wing blogs who hate the world. McCain is our next president so get over it!

Why. Because Billery and Obama refuse to go against a small portion of their support (left wing) and appear on Fox News.

Obama bashing -- yes. Fox has bashed every liberal it can. Thank God Brian Kilmeade had the guts for this historic walk off. What a great guy to do that -- to rish his career. Brian has been carrying water for Fox for years now, and I think he got tired of it.

Fox is a very interesting network. Just like OReilly's show is sometimes ALL spin -- which is Ironic to be named no spin zone. But lets give FOX some credit for all the democrats and liberals it DOES put on.

FOX has talked a great game about giving both sides - now lets see if it really does.

But those two are not newscasters, are they? They are cheap peddlers of opinion, and we have them on our side too (Keith Olbermann, for example). Just because they wear a suit and have a show on a news network does not mean they are journalists.

KEITH OLBERMANN called the administration on its fear mongering before anyone else. He has courage and honesty. Your opiniion is not shared by many. If you are on "our side" you are misinformed as to who is respected as a newscaster. EVERYONE goes on Keith's show. He is probably too smart for you.

Thank you so much, JMEB, for making the same point I've been trying to make to my husband over and over. I read somewhere that in England they are called "newsreaders" (and those are the actual "journalists" as in Brokaw, Couric, et al). It makes so much more sense to me. But in this case, your point-on "cheap peddlers of opinion" is so correct.
