Time Magazine:

Spirited Clinton adviser tells the New York Times that New Mexican governor's backing Obama during Holy Week was "appropriate" and "ironic" because it was like Judas selling out Jesus.

"Mr. Richardson's endorsement came right around the anniversary of the day when Judas sold out for 30 pieces of silver, so I think the timing is appropriate, if ironic," Mr. Carville said, referring to Holy Week.

Bill and Hillary Clinton are just like Bush and Karl Rove in their need for loyalty. Without LOYALTY, the CLINTONS ARE in real trouble.

Carville is speaking, not to Richardson, but to CLINTON CRONYS who are watching the Obama TRAIN LEAVE THE STATION. They're seeing the money dry up, and she's loosing super-delegates, while Obama is gaining them.

The fact that she's trashing defectors is revealing. It means she can't get new ones if she's willing to be so ruthless to protect the ones she has left.

In tne early 90s carville was a new id in town with an unusual delivery.
When he and mary married, I think we all recognized them both as opportunists with a dog-and-pony show.
WHEN Obama is elected, he will become a full-time house husband............and he will do everything he can to keep power from shifting away from his investment.

carville is a hypocrite: the clintons have turned on a dime whenever the political winds told them to do so.

Bill Clinton essentially made Richardson's career, so it was surprising that Richardson went with Obama instead of Hillary. Whether it rises to the level of Judas betraying Jesus amounts to political hyperbole at its best.
It makes me wonder why Bill Clinton has apparently lost his legendary ability to charm, finesse or otherwise sway people to his point of view.
Or maybe it's as simple as Richardson just wanting to jump on the bandwagon and back the overdog.
Obama may have made Richardson a cabinet position offer he just couldn't refuse...but then Hillary could have offered the same thing.

As a Hillary supporter, however, I think Richardson is a man of integrity who had the right to endorse anyone he chose. He was brave in going against the Hillary tide, albeit low tide.

let's not forget, we the working class put Clinton in power and turned around and shoved nafta down our throats. I was a contractor, and with a lifetime of political activism, I knew that when Robert Reich explained to the Country that pain was coming,(but not to worr).....the kiss had been planted.
Clinton made his pact with the devil to enrich the few at the expense of the Many.

Or maybe he knows the Clintons very well, and believes Obama has a better chance of uniting the country. Or maybe he has had enough of the way the Clintons do business. Or maybe, he sees Obama as something very special.

If the endorsement didn't matter, why is Carville so upset? Very telling. He didn't do himself any favors by calling Richardson a 'Judas'. It showed exactly how low the Clinton Camp will go to attempt to win the nomination and destroy the party and our November chances.

I DON'T THINK RICHARDSON HAS ANY INTEGRITY, HE ALSO HAS NO LOYALTY. THIS MAN WANTS TO BE PRESIDENT. OBAMA MUST HAVE GIVEN HIM A LOT FOR RICHARDSON TO DO WHAT HE DID. DIDN'T HE REALIZE HOW BAD IT WOULD LOOK. DIDN'T HE REALIZE THAT THE CLINTON SUPPORTERS AND ALSO THE CLINTON'S WOULD BE HURT. THE MAN IS A FAKE AS IS OBAMA.

Your post is ridiculous. FAKE? I smoked it but I didn't inhale. It depends on what the meaning of "is" is. If we had known then what we know now I would never have voted for the war. I am honored to be here with Barack Obama....Shame on you Barack Obama. Give me a break.

Vincie,I hope you are being sarcastic,"the Cinton supporters and also the Clinton's would be hurt???"Are you kidding? So Richardson should vote against his belief because it might hurt the feelings of the Clinton campaign? You might need to get a hobby.

Carveille is really off on this one. He's very bright but sometimes his sense of loyalty is what's 'biblical'. He'll say anything!

Carville is a hack. Irrelevant is his middle name. We're all suppose to thank him for the Clinton presidency. His job didn't get shipped to China, I guess.

Excuse me, but HIllary Clinton is no Jesus Christ.

Sorry, but this is about Democratic politics not about religion and moral one-upsmanship.

Its time that we as Democrats get off this kick of attempting to demonize our adversaries and anyone who disagrees with us and instead start to address fundamental challenges and disagreements with reason. Yes, people can take their personal sense of morality into the debate, but we hardly need additional Grand Inquisitors. For that we already have republicans, for whom demonization, the politics of castigation, devisiveness, and fear and the advocacy of the virtues of torture have become a way of life. We can't make an enemy of everyone simply to get our way or to express our displeasure. That is simply not a strategy that can be expected to bear positive results.

If Americans demonize everyone to the point that they can't even trust themselves, what will we have accomplished? What could we accomplish by so completely debilitating ourselves? Can we afford to alienate the entire world, just to mold it to our political ambitions and machinations?

I say its time to for Democrats to get off our high horse and engage in a rational discussion. Certainly, Mr. Carver knows better than to suggest that Mrs. Clinton has been ordained and annointed to rise into the heavens of the presidency. I too respect and admire Mrs. Clinton and have thought very seriously about voting for her. Nonetheless, Mr. Richardson is entitled to his choice without the need for others to add the "Judas" label. Its simply not relevant to the issues that need fixing. Rather such talk is only an affirmation that to many Democrats, perhaps disappointed that their favored candidate has not been as convincing as they might have hoped, have been fooled by the numerous republican operatives, who are attempting to pose as passioned democrats only to increase the intensity of intraparty rivalry and insure a splintered Democratic party in the fall.

Democrats of all pursuasions must keep in mind that the onus is on you to be convincing and pursuasive to those who do not share your opinions in every detail. Castigation is a very weak argument and actually betrays a more republican mindset, one which seeks to demean and demonize, to demoralize and to take advantage of the weak for political advantage. Obama is right to point out that while Americans can engage in the trading of low blows, it is hardly a strategy that will produce a useful outcome, only an even further brutalized political process, a few steps closer to those of countries where people with dissenting opinions are simply taken out and beaten or killed. This is not the kind of America I want to live in. This is not a road I want to march down, simply to have the security of a mob at my side. I will leave that to the republicans. Rather, I suggest that we aspire to be better citizens than ourselves and to offer solutions, convincing argumentation, and useful solutions to complex human problems.

If Mr. Carville has only vindictive words for Mr. Richardson, perhaps he might consider an apology to regain his sense of perspective, if he truly values Jesus as highly as he suggests he does. Turning the other cheek was something that Jesus advocated. Never once did Jesus turn on Judas and the recently discovered gospels of Judas, seem to bear out a much more complex and nuanced situation. Surely, this must be something that a politician of Mr. Carver's skills can appreciate. While he may see the Richardson ensorsement as diminution of his own personal political credentials and ambitions, he might try to see the positive side of Mr. Richardson's call for Democratic unity. Surely, America again needs someone with Mr. Carville political skills in the White House. We will be denied these if Mr. McCain and the republicans win the presidency.

Gov. Richardson made an honest assessment of the 2 candidates and threw his support behind Sen. Obama believing he would make the best President. Carville can't imagine such out- of- the- beltway action. I believe Carville sees politics as a game that results in many winners and many losers. He's a salesman. Go sell a car Jim! Lay off the Governor.

Uh, the analogy of "Miz Hillary" being stripped to the waist , then crucified on the Democratic Party Cross of "'golgatha" Mountain Colorado is just too much! Is he getting the virgin mary and Jaysus confused?

Is the last supper, the last debate? Well then, during the convention will John Kerry deny, three different times, he knew Hillary? Will, Dennis Kusinich carry the cross as the good samaritan? Will George Soros, who owns the tomb, come to claim the body of Hillary? Will Wesley Clark be the Centurian who claims that indeed Hillary was truly innocent!! Will the two theives on either side of Hillary's cross be Ted Kennedy and Joe Biden? Will she rise up after the super delegates have voted? Will Senator John Edwards become the "Doubting Thomas"!

James, I feel you have your political religion and your religious learning very confused! Bill Richardson is Mexico's own answer to Patron Saint Juan Diego and his cloak!

James Carville is a terrific Democratic strategist who knows his stuff. There is no question in the minds of anyone who is in the know with regard to him. His expertise is sought after by many campaigns.

Howard Dean...I am so thankful he did not make it into the Oval Office. I don't think he can even run the DNC, let alone the country. If he and the DNC do not count the votes of the voters as they cast them, and they refuse to mandate new primaries for both Michigan and Florida if they are not going to count the votes of the voters as they originally cast them, then Howard Dean should be removed as a failed leader in the Democratic party - he has show no leadership thus far, in my opinion - and the way we vote in this country should go back to basics: no delegates, no superdelegates - just the voters voting when their own states decide the right time is - and those votes being counted and the candidate who gets the majority wins. Very simple. The person with the most votes wins. I am sick and tired of voters in this country being disenfranchised by a group of elitists who think this is all right because state leaders broke a ridiculous "rule" instituted by people who feel it is within their moral right to cast the WILL OF THE VOTERS aside.

Bill Richardson - I think he has exhibited the worst kind of disloyalty because he had no real reason which he, himself, seemed to be saying, other than he wanted to be a part of the campaign of a person he thinks might get the nomination. Is that because he cut a deal with Barack Obama to run as VP if he came out and endorsed Obama at this time when Obama's numbers are circling the drain? Motives and stratigies, I guess. But, disloyalty of the worst kind, in my opinion. I cannot imagine giving someone so much and being such a good friend to someone as the Clintons have been to Bill Richardson and then have him stab you in the back this way. I used to have a lot of respect for Bill Richardson, but now I have none.

For your information,Bill Richardson served the nation effectively, which is why he was given different posts in the Clinton Administration. His loyalty is to the nation, not the Cintons. Why is that so hard to get a hold of? Is it because some people don't see a difference between serving the citizens of the country from serving a particular administration.

Typical comment heard in Court - Royal Court that is - as in the Court of King William and Queen Hillary.

There is a reason why you hear people complain all the time about the Clintons' sense of "entitlement".
