Time Magazine:

Spirited Clinton adviser tells the New York Times that New Mexican governor's backing Obama during Holy Week was "appropriate" and "ironic" because it was like Judas selling out Jesus.

"Mr. Richardson's endorsement came right around the anniversary of the day when Judas sold out for 30 pieces of silver, so I think the timing is appropriate, if ironic," Mr. Carville said, referring to Holy Week.

Carville! Was it not found out that you told your wife, a Dick Cheney staffer, critical information regarding the Kerry's plans to contest the Ohio vote? How dare you call Richardson a Judas.

Carville, hey folks he is married to a republican operative and sleeze bag and he is one as well. Why does he even get press? He is nothing but an operative for the republicans now.

Frankly, who cares what Carville thinks. I am so sick of listening to the opinion of the same talking heads, over and over. What do you expect Carville to say? he is a Clinton lackey. Half the time I can't even understand what he is saying. By the way, years back, he failed miserably as a consultant to the presidential campaign of Eduardo Duhalde in Argentina.

OK. I am willing to think of Richardson as Judas -just for the moment. But Hillary as Jesus! I don't know. That requires several leaps - of faith and reason. Maybe Mr. Carville took leave of his reason. Or perhaps he was thinking Hillary Clinton as Mary Magdalene. Perhaps Mary Matalin can explain to JC (James Carville) how Jesus got to be Jesus and how Mrs. Clinton got to be Hillary.

The issue is betrayal of biblical proportions. One of the basic tenants of politics is loyalty to those who elevated and nurtured your political career. Given that New Mexico voted for Hillary, Bill Richardson's betrayal is inexplicable and shows a real craven side of the man. I think the Judas analogy is apt; trading something morally dear for something crass and self- serving.

" I think the Judas analogy is apt; trading something morally dear for something crass and self- serving." Just how is Hillary Clinton "morally dear"? Has she ever taken a stand that was politically risky because she believed in some principle other than getting elected?

It occurs to me that if we take this Judas analogy to its logical conclusion, than the Clinton supporters would be equal to the Jews screaming at Pontus Pilate "Crucify him, Crucify him" at Jesus trial. All of them paid off by the Sanhedrin priests who ran the establishment.

Sorry James, Richardson isn't Judas, he's just another pathetic male ego. The Clintons are romantics who are subject to repeated disillusionment. Just the ribbing that Richardson endured from some of his colleagues for coming to Hill's defense at the Las Vegas debate, and the way he flinched later, told those of us close by that there was no way in the dead of night he could endure four years of being second fiddle to a woman. This was especially true as there were more than occasions when HRC successfully second guessed BR with Bill and he burned for days. Meanwhile, BHO manipulated Richardson expertly, from the flirtations at the debates to the Super Bowl Sunday follow up call after hearing that the Gov. spent the game with BC. Hey it's just politics, folks. Of course, on the slim chance that BHO survives what the Republican Mean Machine throws at him and finds himself in The Big House, Richardson will feel like he's really needed - for about 24 hours. Then watch the growing resentments, second guessing, and eventual disillusionment, confrontation, reconciliation and dismissal for the failed second-term run.

I just saw Carville on CNN. He now claims Obama is the reason why Michigan and Florida are not having re-votes. Obama haas continuously sided with the DNC and the DNC rules. He has said he is open to revotes. The state democratic parties in both Michigan and Florida were the ones that did not approve the new revotes. That is the truth.

Carville came across as a crazy man who appears to only support the Clintons. He is showing his true colors that he is not a Democrat. He is just a Clinton mouthpiece.

Actually Bill Richadrson has helped Hillary's efforts to gain the nomination through superdelegates (which , by the way is the only way either candidate can win). All her campaign has to do is cite Richardson's willingness to support the candidate which did not carry his constituency. He, along with Kerry and Kennedy make the case for her. Thanks, Bill.

Spun dry. In Richardson's case, the margin of Clinton's victory was exceptionally thin at 0.8%. The same will not be true for other superdelegates.

I don't see the difference. Either you are following the will of the people or not. I'm an Obama supporter but I think Richardson and Kennedey should still vote as their consituents did -- providing that they can get the majority of other super delegates to commit to doing so as well.

It is better to be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt. Unfortunately, Carville has never learned that simple lesson. In fact, his commentary is just another reminder of why I will not vote for Hillary.

I would consider Hillary a bit of a 'judas' by staying in a contest that she simply cannot win. The numbers are not there for her, no matter how much you like her, she needs to step aside and support Obama. If she continues this all the way to the convention she will be handing the Presidency to McCain.

Hillary’s supporters of which I am one, have spent one hundred and seventy million dollars on her campaign. We expect her to go to the mat in this race. Were it not for Obama being too chickenshit to allow a revote in Michigan and Florida, which she would win easily, he would be toast.

Good point bccity. That's what you do in a competition. Those who would like Sen. Clinton to bow out, would not be singing the same tune if it was about their snake oil salesman, Barry, or whatever name he is going by this week. Personally, I am sick of their hypocrisy and for the record, Obama is the biggest divider of the electorate since GWB.

Bill Richardson has turned out to be nothing more than an opportuniistic liar. In an interview on Hardball, he said that he wouldn't be endorsing anyone because it is NOT a good idea for one politician to endorse another politician. Another one bites the dust.

It wasn't Obama's decision so stop calling him a chickenshit. He is a principled man with the integrity to heal the divisiveness done in the country by Bush. I am, along with a huge number of other democrats, excited about his message. So when we hear Clinton supporters denigrade this amazing campaign and this incredible statesman we think "WTF?"

If Hillary can't follow the agreed upon rules during the campaign, what makes you think she'll follow the agreed upon rules as President? We've already had 8 years of a president unwilling to follow the rules. Do we need more?

Happy Easter Everyone!
One of the miniority groups that Obama is not doing well with is the Hispanic Community. Bill Richardson's endorsement forces the Hispanic Community to give Barak a second look, not to mention changing the subject from the Pastor Wright fiasco! In politics, knowing that all of you intelligent people reading HP know more than the average american, I ask one question. Is Richardsons endorsement a soul wrenching decision on his part, partly political, or a little bit of both?
My gut tells me, the new dream ticket is Obama & Richardson. It doesn't take much to realize that Richardson has been promised the VP position. A grand idea, and something he was salivating for, as was obvious at every debate. We all thought he was kissing Hillary's tookass, and he was because he believed she was the best candidate. This ticket will strongly tighten up the race between Obama and McCain. The new democratic party will be legitimately black and hispanic thus leaving us white folk pretty much out in the cold. Will we form a new party? How strange is it that the one canididate that through his brilliant rhetoric and desire to bring the nation together and give us change, is only about to give us change. Big Time! The blogs and the callers to cspan and cable tv are pronouncing that if Senator Obama does not win the nomination they will not vote for Hillary. They will not vote for anyone but Obama! Once again, the democrats are being blackmailed by minorities in their party and this only strengthens the god forsaken republicans. This is such a critical election, and the Obama groupies do not have yet enough savy politically to see the future. Obama touts his judgement regarding his private choice about the war in Iraq, yet his judgement didn't tell him to speak to his friend Pastor Wright and tell him in plain words to just shut up! If the Obama groupies were more sophisticated politically, they would realize that much of the money pouring in to Senator Obamas campaign is from the followers of Louis Farrakhan, and those people (like Pastor Wright) that believe the same hateful, anti semetic rhetoric that he professes. So sadly ,the ball to bring us together and bind the democratic party wounds is left to Senator Obama. Had he not believed in "the fierce urgency of now"...(which is beautiful rhetoric) but really does not apply to him or his candidacy. The fierce urgency of now should relate to once and for all disseminating the republican party which for the most part took only 8 years to destroy "hope". WE had hope at the end of Clintons presidency! All of us had hope! The blacks the hispanics and the middle class white and all the poor amoungst us. What does Senator Obama mean by "the fierce urgency of now"? Does he mean its time for the poor and downtrodden to get a hand up? Or does he mean that "it is HIS time", time for a black man to be president? As a few have said on the blogs unfortunately we have two brilliant candidates running, and one very courageous old man, that sings songs about bombing Iran. McCain may have thought that was funny, but for me, and the rest of the world, our hearts palpitated and we nearly threw up! The pundits are saying that Clinton/Obama is DOA, and with Richardsons endorsement we all would have to agree, it pretty much is. What a shame. Obama/Richardson cannot beat McCain, but Clinton/Obama will! Let's get back to sanity. Let us stop the blackmail. A woman like no other we have seen politically or intelligently, and a man with rhetoric so beautiful he can charm the birds out of the trees will bring the world to its feet in applause. It's our only HOPE! We have to win.

Dream on. Clinton cannot win. Clinton won't be in a position to offer the vp to anyone. And Obama won't be offering it to her. She's not in contention except in her silly little lie-to-me-one-more-time mind.

Now.. now are you not implying that "white people" should be scared because if Obama wins then he is going to put Richardson on his ticket as VP. I try not to be racial but for all the years that there has been a white president and white VP (MALE), other races did not say, hey we need to form our own party. You are being ridiculous. The scare tactics are old, people just want to live in a safe environment, send their kids to good schools and have a home where they do not have to live in fear of losing it everyday. Your rather long pro Clinton post does not change the fact that people are tired of your brand of spin.

One thing you Obamabots continually overlook is that Obama can not win the nomination without super delegates either. It is impossible for him to garner enough pledged delegates to sew up the nomination. Why doesn't Obama get out of the race? If Michigan and Florida delegates are not seated then we will see another stolen election with Florida at the heart of the theft. Go going Obmanation.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 01:36 PM on 03/23/2008

Yes. But he will have won the popular vote, the delegate count and the total number of states. If Hillary continues to hemorrhage superdelages as she has done since Super Tuesday, she won't even have the majority of them either.

She will lose.

First Penn says the endorsement is inconsequential - trying to marginalize it.

That having failed because Richardson has the resume and credibility, then the lepricon Carvelle comes out from under his rock and tries to swiftboat Richardson.

This is why Hillary is hated. She and her operatives simply cannot win on the issues. They have to snipe, take cheap shots, lie and belittle. I wish Hillary would get the hell off the stage already so we can get on with choosing a president. She is quite simply an awful person, unfit for high office.
