Bush Gutting The Endangered Species Act

With little-noticed procedural and policy moves over several years, Bush administration officials have made it substantially more difficult to designate domestic animals and plants for protection under the Endangered Species Act.

Controversies have occasionally flared over Interior Department officials who regularly overruled rank-and-file agency scientists' recommendations to list new species, but internal documents also suggest that pervasive bureaucratic obstacles were erected to limit the number of species protected under one of the nation's best-known environmental laws.

add to the long list of things in our country and/or world that this idiot has tampered with...it reminds me of a little kid sitting in the car waiting for his mother to come running out of the house to leave for the daily routine, but the kid is busily touching, turning, pressing every button on the dash board surface, above, below, and all around every inch of his seat. Will he leave no rock unturned?

Who is surprised? He already gutted the HUMAN species, both here and in Iraq. The "man" has no moral core, no ideals, no soul.

I'm a board member of a Tiger rescue sanctuary in California. This happened because of rampant abuse of the Endangered Species act for special interests, both pro-environmental and pro-development. You can legally impact virtually any building by finding one of the many paid consultants who will state that the Canadian goldwing pigeon uses an area as a migration stop, or some such rubbish.

We have 21 large wild cats saved from unfortunate situations, and can't expand our own property because of the Canadian goldwing pigeon, none of which i have ever seen.

We probably don't need all these pesky species anyway. After all God put them there and God can take them away. We'll see all of them in heaven though - when we get there after accepting Jesus and stuff.

Name me one thing this maniac hasn't gutted??????? Except maybe Social Security and he probably is doing that behind the scenes. But, his behavior and attitude goes with the Christian Fundamentalist movement. They believe every animal was put on earth to service their needs. The same goes for plants and vegetation. God put those things there for them to use freely. We are talking about extremely selfish people here folks. There is no need to save anything for the future generations. Because they are expecting Armageddon to come any day. And they are determined to help it along with the wars in the Middle East. And for whatever happens after that to transpire. I am no longer up on Christian mythology. It's been a good 49 years since I practiced any of it. This is the biggest reason I am against religion in politics. It guides to many of these people to do ignorant things that are designed to be in keep with their religious belief's not what's good for the country!

I hate to wish my life away, but time needs to hurry up and get the Republican's out of the White House before this country disintegrates before our eyes.

Til the end of the Bush Regime
