Clinton, Obama Reconciliation Becoming More And More Impossible

Dream ticket? Dream on.

Democratic insiders say Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama once held warm feelings for each other, but their fierce White House fight is pushing their relationship to the point of no return.

Many say it's already gone so far that any sort of union would come only if they thought the good of the party absolutely depended on it. Clinton has floated the idea of a dream ticket. But if Obama wins, the chances of it happening are nearly zero, strategists say.

the only reason mccain is even close in polls with either democratic is because the people who voted for either candidates are being spitful to each other while being polled, but hopfully the polls are wrong by 10% for either democratic candidate

After all of the nasty things she's said about Barack during this nomination fight, it would be suicide for him to pick her as his running mate. Imagine that ads the Republicans would run. If it is truly time to "turn the page", the last thing he needs is an albatrose like Hillary around his neck. This race will be won or lost in the west and he best pick a veep who can carry Nevada or Colorado.

Hillary has a very good chance to win Nevada. Colorado is a tougher fight, but could be a possibility. And she could probably do it without kowtowing to any particular part of the country. I hope that she gives her supporters an inkling of who her running mate would be. It may actually help her in the long run, especially if it is NOT Barack Obama.

And to further support the wisdon of having superdelegates, here are some recent polls concerning Barack Obama and his race speech. Again, this is what the superdelegates will look at when they decide. Although it can go either way, I hope the superdelegates do pay attention to electability, especially since it looks like the Florida and Michigan primaries will be negated, which should have been victories for Hillary based on vote totals. I find the poll results interesting. Is this another proof that the media, which has in so many cases, exclaimed the "greatness" of Barack's race speech, has favored Barack Obama with only positive news, while conversely, it has tried to stomp out Hillary's candidacy? I believe so.

Who cares about the number of states that were won. The majority of the states that Barack Obama won were states that typically vote Republican in the presidential elections. It is Hillary who has the necessary support in the important swing states like Florida, Ohio, and Missouri. These states, for the most part, have had close presidential elections in the past. Recent polls show more support for Hillary than Obama, and that will matter in this election. If the Democrats win all 3 of these states, then more than likely, they will win enough electoral votes to win the presidential election. Who in their right mind actually thinks that Kansas, Nebraska, Wyoming, Utah, Idaho, North Dakota, South Dakota, South Carolina, and the other "red" states that Obama won in the primaries and caucuses are going to help Obama in any way if he were to become the Democratic nominee? After all, the primaries and caucuses are only indicative of voters who intend on voting Democrat in the presidential election (except for Republicans who inserted themselves into the open primaries of some of the states), and not indicative of the remaining solidly Republican electorate who predominate in these states. Therefore, your argument is nonsense.

HILL: Well, okay, I'm hearing a lot of yelling for door number two, but that could be misleading. I don't like the number two anyway. But then, I don't really like one or three either.

MC: Hill...?

HILL: Oh what the hell, I like to take chances...door number...three...NO!...TWO!...NO! Wait, time out. I had my fingers crossed. Door number...one...wait...yeah, door number one.

MC: You're sure? Door number one?

(HILL, looking offstage toward some unseen person, nods slowly)

MC: Hillary takes door number one. Let's show her what she's won...

(Door opens to show a new washer and dryer)

MC: Well, you may not have won the GRAND PRIZE but you did win a Parsed Position Washer and Dryer, perfect for small apartments and pet grooming parlors!

(HILLARY grimaces and she makes a threatening gesture toward the unseen person in wings)

MC: Isn't she a GOOD SPORT?

My issue with Hillary Clinton is that I feel she is only motivated by her own ambition. She may earnestly believe that her ambition and the interests of the Democratic Party and that of the American people are one and the same, but they are not.

Barack has given us a framework to discuss not just the thorny issue of race or gender, but several others that afflict every American. Issues like our disastrous adventure in Iraq, the continuing and impending disaster looming in the sub prime mortgage debacle, education, corporate greed, and so on. Rather than join in and constructively add to or even expand the thoughtful and mature discussion on some of the issues that divide us, and how we might go forward and tackle the issues we both share, she sends her husband out as attack dog to play to tired reactionaries with his Jesse Jackson statement, and question this great American Barack Obama’s patriotism with his more recent ones.

This is the politics of divisiveness that thankfully I believe we are turning the page on. We once had a great Democrat that when campaigning said something along the lines of this - If you are given the choice of candidates and one is preaching hope and the other is talking fear, you better choose the one with the hope. That candidate was Bill Clinton but Hillary is not Bill.

Clinton needs to get out now!! She has already lost the pledge delegate count AND the popular vote. She is depending on the SUPER DELEGATES - this is not right! She is not thinking about the party at all, only herself. In addition, the WIN in TX and OHIO had a lot to do with REPUBLICANS voting in the democratic primary.

Thank you Bill Richardson for taking the high road and voting for the candidate who rightly has the nomination.

Looking at the Clinton's hints about a possible VP slot for Obama is about as smelly a red herring
as I've ever seen. As for Obama, with Hillary for VP, why on God's green earth would he want all
that Clinton baggage. A well respected military man, such as Zinni or Clark would make much
more sense, and help undercut McCain's of being the national security candidate.
