WASHINGTON — Hillary Rodham Clinton adviser James Carville is refusing to apologize for comparing New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson to Judas.

Carville made the comparison to The New York Times after Richardson, once a member of President Clinton's Cabinet, endorsed Hillary Clinton rival Barack Obama last week for the Democratic presidential nomination. Carville called it an "act of betrayal," and pointed out that it came during Holy Week.

"Mr. Richardson's endorsement came right around the anniversary of the day when Judas sold out (Jesus) for 30 pieces of silver, so I think the timing is appropriate, if ironic," he said.

Richardson told "Fox News Sunday" that he wouldn't respond by getting "in the gutter like that."

"That's typical of many of the people around Senator Clinton," Richardson said. "They think they have a sense of entitlement to the presidency."

Carville told CNN on Monday that Richardson had committed an "egregious act" and he intended to make a sharp response to it.

"I wanted to use a very strong metaphor to make my point," Carville said. "I doubt if Governor Richardson and I will be particularly close in the future."

Clinton spokesman Howard Wolfson told reporters Monday that he didn't agree with Carville's comment.

"If I had said it, I would apologize," Wolfson said. "I did not say it, and if I had I would, but that's up to him."

Richardson served as ambassador to the United Nations and energy secretary during the Clinton administration.

Mr. Carville should shut his pie-hole and slink off so that he can best be remembered for his failed election strategies of "focusing on states that matter" that allowed W to win two elections. His utter lack of class that is so typical of the Clinton campaign. Like Bush, the Clintons think the presidency is some sort of family entitlement.

What’s been so great for me as an Obama supporter is the idea that it’s ordinary peoples money (my money) that put him where he is. He’s not beholding to any corporations or lobbyist and is free to work for us. So I’ve come to realize how powerful “our” money can be in the political system.

Apparently HRC has the divine right to demand the loyalty of everybody who ever worked for her husband's administration. Perhaps Richardson should be beheaded?

How sad is this. The Hillary camp wants us to compare Obama and his supporters to Judas. It was planned to come out just before Easter. Thank you Hillary for taking politics to a new low. You are a sad person and are embarassing to the majority of Americans for the dirty and low tactics in this campaign. Your camp needs to keep to the issues since you complaign about the Obama camp almost every day. Before you cry wolf take a long hard look at what you and your camp are doing.

I used to be a Big Richardson Fan, but the lack of Loyalty amazes me. Out of loyalty at very least he should not have endorsed anyone. So disapointed. Suffice to say would Bill Richardson be where he was without the Clintons? Careful Obama, watch your back with Richardson on your side. I can't tell you how disapointed I am with this. I predict Al Gore has more loyalty than Richardson. I hope he does.

Why would Al Gore be loyal to the Clintons? They are partly responsible for ruining his political career.

It was the Clintons' fault that Al Gore refused to have them campaign for him? That he ran away from the Clinton Administration peace and prosperity because he was afriad of the sex scandal? Seems to me that was Gore's mistake. If Gore had run on the Clinton Admin's accomplishments it wouldn't have been close enough for the SC to award it to Bush. Kerry also ran away from the Clinton's Admin. And guess what folks, Senator Obama is doing the same thing, and will most likely have the same fate. Democrats really need to stop eating their own!

So how come Hillary Clinton can't get votes from people who don't owe her something?

today on CNN Cambell Brown asked Carville something about the re-votes in MI and Fl and Carville said that the "facts" are that the only reason that those states won't count in because of Obama.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 09:58 PM on 03/24/2008

The real reason. The clinton supporters with the big bucks were going to fund the re-do, but someone said " ISN'T THAT LIKE BUYING VOTES" Then they backed out and used the excuse" IF YOU DON'T DO IT HILLARY'S WAY WE WILL WITHDRAW" poof they were gone!

Is it that paragraphs are not allowed? Let's see if this goes through. On January 30, 2007, Barack Obama introduced the Iraq War De-Escalation Act of 2007 (S 433). The plan would stop the planned troop increase of 21,500 in Iraq, and would also begin a phased redeployment of troops from Iraq with the goal of removing all combat forces by March 31, 2008. Obama announced the Iraq War De-Escalation Act after President Bush announced an increase in the number of troops fighting in Iraq, and after the State of the Union Address. Obama released a statement saying, "Our troops have performed brilliantly in Iraq, but no amount of American soldiers can solve the political differences at the heart of somebody else's civil war," Obama said, alluding to Michael Scott Doran's essay "Somebody Else's Civil War" published in the Foreign Affairs journal in 2002. "That's why I have introduced a plan to not only stop the escalation of this war, but begin a phased redeployment that can pressure the Iraqis to finally reach a political settlement and reduce the violence."

I am still trying to figure out how to get more than one line of an original post in, not a cut and paste from something else. Let's try and see if this works. Quite possibly, this will me my last try. If this doesn't work, I will give up. Or not. Depending upon all sorts of things that might or might not happen. Of course, I'm just writing gibberish.

An Obama supporter brings up the truth about Bill Clinton and he apologizes. Carville calls Richardson a well respected Democrat Judas and he is unapologetic. It just shows the double standard in this nomination process.

James Carville, someone I have admired in the past, has really gone off the rails this time. His comments were totally inappropriate, and, what will be worse from his point of view is that his tin ear when it comes to political etiquette has done real damage to Hillary Clinton's reputation and the reputation of her campaign.

To me Carville is the same as Mark Penn who is the same as Harold Ikes who is the same as Lanny Davis etc. Do you EVER see a Hillary surrogate/supporter that is associated with decency, respect, truthfullness, genuiness, country over party and loyalty...NOPE and the Clintons are the reason for it. This is the kind of leader Hillary will be look at her own campaign surrogates and supporters they all represent disgrace, pettiness, and anger.

I love James Carville too. He always speaks his mind, and I like that in a person. I wish he was Hillary's Campaign Advisor. I agree with his statement about Bill Richardson, and I wouldn't take it back either.
