David Paterson

New York's new governor, who disclosed last week that he and his wife both committed adultery several years ago, said Monday that he used cocaine in his 20s and smoked marijuana when he was younger.

In reference to cocaine, Gov. David Paterson, 53, said in a television interview that he "tried it a couple of times" when he was "about 22 or 23."

"And marijuana probably when I was about 20," he said on the NY1 cable news station. "I don't think I touched marijuana since the '70s."

"More Americans have tried a lot more during that period of time and gone on to lead responsible lives and hopefully have lived their lives to their fullest," he said.

Why are all these Democrats trying to out do each other in the sex and drugs scandals?

This guy is dribbling out this stuff to overshadow his real fault, that he got a job for a woman he slept with. If you think that's how government jobs should be awarded, he's your guy. He's counting on the stupidity of the public, especially race liberals, and once again he's smart.

"race liberals"? ...er, do you mean as opposed to racists?

So? Who didn't? Who didn't have premarital sex? Who hasn't broken some law someplace? Who hasn't done something immoral? Can we all take the "walk on water" test?

You want public officials who use illegal drugs, lie, break the law? Did it occur to you that we hire public officials to STOP such things? Ever heard of hypocrisy?

Prohibition is an awful flop.
We like it.
it can't stop what it's meant to stop.
We like it.
It's left a trail of graft and slime,
It's filled our land with vice and crime,
It can't prohibit worth a dime;
Nevertheless we like it.

--------
Not all laws are just laws. Segregation was upheld by lots of laws; I for one am grateful that some people had the courage to defy them. And DRUG PROHIBITION is the step-child of Jim Crow---our laws against cannabis, cocaine, and opiates were ALL passed in order to provide a legal pretext for harrassing various racial minorities, during the era from the 1870's to the 1930's. These are NOT laws that were passed for the good of the public, in the first place. In the second place, they are laws that have NOT achieved their purported purpose, since all they do is sponsor racketeering on both sides of the law; and finally, prohibition laws are fundamentally unAmerican because they are inconsistent with a free society and they violate the ninth and tenth amendments to the Constitution.

Exactly who didn't, this story is only newsworthy to The Right Wing.

And they will milk it like a cow.

Who cares...next real news worthy story.

I'll take a truth-teller who has lived his live, has made mistakes and has learned from them over a soulless, dim-witted shameless LIAR who is incapable of remorse or admitting ever to having made a mistake.

True morality is a personal testment to one's own heart. Morality in the public sphere is a spectator's sport of "gotcha", played, watched and judged all by hypocrites!

I'm afraid now you New Yorkers have no choice but to force Patterson to resign, or impeach. After all, you got rid of a guy who got caught in a business transaction that offended some of you. Patterson's transgressions appear to be much worse, so throw him out and hope you have better luck with his successor. Keep going down the line until you find that one person who has never done anything "wrong"--how boring--but obviously fitting for your State.

His successor would be the Republican Bruno, right? Since he is a Republican, I am sure he never lusted or imbibed. He may be a ruthless politician, but as long as he never had any fun, he's good enough for the GOP.

David is human--- and the fatcats in New York who in the future choose to run for office will have to clean out their closets, as well..

For a legally blind person, Davie-boy sure knows how to get his jollies. I know only a handful of guys with 20/20 vision who's had more fun than Dave Patterson, i.e, - Bill Clinton, Dave Vitter, Eli Spitzer, Larry Craig, Bob Packwood, Newt Gingrich, etc. Well.... maybe not exactly 20/20 - since all of them are old or middle-aged farts. But not legally blind!!

Why on earth is this guy disclosing SO much information about himself? ...

This guy needs to find a priest if he wants to make his confession. What is up with him making all of these admissions about his private life. It is not a standard of behavior that I want in a politician. I want a competent, compassionate and ethical leadership. I don't care if he likes to wear his wife's panties and have her spank him. That's none of my business.
