Fox Hosts Claim Friday's Walk-Off Was A Joke

This morning on "Fox and Friends," co-hosts Brian Kilmeade, Gretchen Carlson, and Steve Doocy addressed Friday's show and Kilmeade's storming off the set after a dispute about Barack Obama's comments on the "typical white person." Their explanation: it was a joke, and they do it all the time!

"They got it all wrong," Doocy said of our report. "Had Brian actually stormed off the set in anger, would he have come back the next segment?"

"I walk off all the time," Kilmeade explained. "The argument was real. The walk-off was fun. We are a fun show."

Some people believe everything they read. A joke? Was Chris Wallace's comments about Obama Bashing a joke as well. Fox is trying to save face. Americans are so gullible.

Yes FOX is trying to save face. If the FOX news anchors were acting at anytime, this was the time. I have never seen such fake smiles and laughs in my life (on a news channel, that is). The gentleman may have needed to pretend that his walking off set was a joke in order to save his job.

I was kind of suspicious of the seriousness of that walkoff, given that the camera actually followed him leaving the set and walking offstage. If it was really an unplanned event my guess is that they would have kept the camera on the set people rather than draw attention to it.

I didn't think the issue was the walk-off so much as the basic fact that they had taken one tiny comment by Obama out of context and hammered away at him incessantly for it. Rather than, you know... talking about what his speech was actually about.

And of course the fact that Chris Freakin' Wallace even thought they went too far with the Obama bashing really brings that home. And I don't think he was talking about the walkout so much as the bashing, which is the real point.

Now, if only you had it in you to dissect and delineate between what Catherine Crier observes as remarkable mass-msm journalistic deficiencies (read: catering to those so easily distracted by bright, shiny objects delivered in the form of 10 second sound-bites) . . . and, well, your ideological programming. Regarding Chris Wallace's "amount of integrity" . . . Do you even know why he reacted as he did? Or about whom? Chris Wallace is about 99% about Chris Wallace . . . and the unbelievably absurd assertions spewed by his (perceived white-trash) cohorts would (and were) seen as an affront to the ego of Chris Wallace (who likely was "asked" to appear at the behest of his overlords). Real integrity would have had Wallace standing up and proclaiming a sort of "born again" awakening in denouncing his years of "Romancing the (GOP's plutocratic, hegemonistic) Bone". Read between the lines . . . for the real truth will not just set you free, it will inspire (any) potential for the concept of cause-and-effect thinking to become your friend.

It goes something like this- show a bunch of republican legislators wearing Flag pins in their lapel. Mention 9/11. Say something like "our brave men and women in Iraq are fighting and dying for the flag and what it represents". Show Obama not wearing Flag lapel pin. Demand to know how any American could be against the troops by not wearing Flag lapel pin.
