Fred Thompson Plots Hollywood Return

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. — After a failed run for president, Fred Thompson is getting back to pretending to be commander in chief.

Hollywood's high-powered William Morris Agency announced this week that it has signed the actor/politician, signaling a return to the screen for the former senator from Tennessee.

Thompson most recently appeared as grizzled district attorney Arthur Branch on "Law & Order" and has played authority figures in the films "The Hunt For Red October," "Die Hard II" and "In the Line of Fire."

Thompson dropped out of the race for the Republican presidential nomination on Jan. 22.

This is really hard for the MSM to take.

The MSM invested so much time in propping up this man who they thought would save the country and the world and most importantly, the GOP. Newsweek is especially depressed, as they dedicated a cover story to this man. The infamous "Lazy like a Fox" story, where they say Fred just gives the impression he's an idiot and lazy but deep down inside, he's really a brilliant, multi layered genius.

The article was Bush redux. The MSM hasn't learned anything from 7 years of Bush.

No. What happened was that the media propped him up to run for president, thinking he was going to be a liberal Republican like McCain or Huckabee. Then, when they found out he was running as a real conservative, they had to tear him down before he got any traction.

It's too bad the GOP kicked him to the curb. Fred Thompson is a principled man who shined a light on what may be the most important issue facing our nation today. We have to reign in Social Security and Medicare so that we are taking in as much money as we are paying out. With so many retirees in the next 20 years, somebody has to have the guts to do something. Alas, our current crop of candidates are panderers, not leaders. Nothing will get done for another four years.
