Chelsea Clinton Has Quick Response For Lewinsky Question

INDIANAPOLIS — Chelsea Clinton had a quick retort Tuesday when asked whether her mother's credibility had been hurt during the Monica Lewinsky scandal.

"Wow, you're the first person actually that's ever asked me that question in the, I don't know maybe, 70 college campuses I've now been to, and I do not think that is any of your business," Clinton said during a campaign visit for her mother, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton.

On Tuesday, the student journalist defended his decision to ask the question during in appearance on Dan Abrams' Verdict on MSNBC. He told Abrams that the question wasn't meant "to pry into their private life" but was more about demonstrating how Clinton had overcome a difficult experience. Abrams and the panel, which included HuffPost's own Rachel Sklar, talked about the difficulties reporters encounter in trying to question Chelsea Clinton.

That's because Bill's and Hillary's characters are none of our business. Just as the question of what Hillary being willing to put up with that kind of abuse and public humiliation might mean about her character is none of her business.

Did anyone think to ask Chelsea about the Bosnia trip? Is that none of our business, either? What about the time her mother wanted to join the Marines? Are we entitled to know about that?

Chelsea, your parents are bare-faced liars. Don't you think that's even a little bit our business?

This is an adult who has a master's degree and works for a hedge fund firm in Manhattan. I suspect it was she who decided to be a spokesperson for her parents(s) and had she wanted privacy and obscurity she should have stayed in New York. Instead, she's been doing the same thing her mother (and father) does - tells big fat lies.

It's been Chelsea who continues to claim (when speaking of Darfur) she's "really proud that my mom was the first Democratic senator to call it genocide in May of 2004 and put a lot of pressure on the Bush administration to recognize it as genocide." - even after this has been pointed out to be a lie in numerous reports. (Senators DeWine and Feingold first used the term and also sponsored the legislation- for which Hillary didn't even sign-on as a co-sponser)

It's been Chelsea (who was nearly 17 when her mom (repeatedly) claims she was winning the war in Bosnia by dodging snipers bullets) who continues- AS RECENTLY AS LAST EVENING- to maintain that there was a sniper attack at the Tuzla airport.

Either Chelsea has chosen to represent her parent(s) in a democratic election where there is (or at least SHOULD be) an expectation of tough and uncomfortable questions, or her parents have put her in the situation she doesn't want to be in- in which case your beef is with manipulative, controlling parents- not the questioner at a campaign rally.

Bill's indiscretion happened on company time on company property. Anyone who wasn't working for the government would have been escorted off the grounds by company security. Yes, it is the business of the taxpayers of this country because it goes to CHARACTER!
