Clinton Wright

Sen. Hillary Clinton has reintroduced the issue of Barack Obama's pastor Jeremiah Wright today. First, she mentioned the controversy during a conversation with the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review:

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, in a wide-ranging interview today with Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reporters and editors, said she would have left her church if her pastor made the sort of inflammatory remarks Sen. Barack Obama's former pastor made.

"He would not have been my pastor," Clinton said. "You don't choose your family, but you choose what church you want to attend."...

"You know, I spoke out against Don Imus (who was fired from his radio and television shows after making racially insensitive remarks), saying that hate speech was unacceptable in any setting, and I believe that," Clinton said. "I just think you have to speak out against that. You certainly have to do that, if not explicitly, then implicitly by getting up and moving."

She repeated her remarks later today during a press conference, and followed them up by saying:

I was asked a personal question and I responded as to what I would have done... and I feel very comfortable with that. I don't think that's negative."

Watch:

The Obama camp has responded to Clinton's comments:

"After originally refusing to play politics with this issue, it's disappointing to see Hillary Clinton's campaign sink to this low in a transparent effort to distract attention away from the story she made up about dodging sniper fire in Bosnia. The truth is, Barack Obama has already spoken out against his pastor's offensive comments and addressed the issue of race in America with a deeply personal and uncommonly honest speech. The American people deserve better than tired political games that do nothing to solve the larger challenges facing this country."

Of course! I've figured it out!! Reverend Wright could never be her pastor...the Messiah doesn't need a pastor! James Carville said it himself. If Richardson is Judas, then Hillary must be Jesus! Man I feel like the main character in the Da Vinci Code. The Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit, the Hillary! It's the Holy Quadrinity!!!!

In the list of "Seven Deadly Sins," the sin of "pride" is the most deadly. Of course, there are different kinds of pride, (all deadly,) but one is the MOST DEADLY: SPIRITUAL PRIDE. Polling in North Carolina seems to bear this out. In a report at TPM:

"A new Public Policy Polling (D) survey of North Carolina shows that Barack Obama has jumped into an enormous lead over Hillary Clinton, after having been in a dead heat during the worst of the Jeremiah Wright controversy. Here are the numbers, compared to their previous poll from just last week:

Obama 55% (+11)

Clinton 34% (-9)

From the internals: Obama leads 80%-14% among black voters, while Hillary has a narrow 47%-40% lead among whites."

Keep it up, Hillary. America finds your tactics... fascinating!

On Wright, saying what Clinton saw as offensive, she said. "I just think you have to speak out against that. You certainly have to do that, if not explicitly, then implicitly by getting up and moving."

When asked why she stayed with Bill Clinton after he betrayed and lied to her and the American people and set the scene for Bush and the Repugs to take over the government, she said, "What's that behind you?!" and ran for the exit.

Apparently Hillary's pastor didn't help her any in telling the truth.

Her pastor at the United Methodist Church in Washington DC came out in support of Reverend Wright.

Watching Hillary's campaign has been like being a spectator of a limbo contest--just how low is she willing to go to win?

I don't know. Where I come from we have priests, not pastors. All might and power of resolving any sins. Just go and get a bite of wafer and some wine and VOILLA! The music sucks though.

"You choose what church you want to attend."

She chose the Family (aka the Fellowship) - so what does that say about her?

http://www.theocracywatch.org/secret_theocrats.html

This is alarming to discover - not just about Hillary but all of the other elected representatives...

Jeff Sharlet is coming out with an expose in May on the "Family", scary stuff.

Read the article and it is alarming - but I am curious about your implication that Clinton is associated with this group - didn't see anything about it- did I miss it?

Don't dare remind us of the anti-american remarks that were said to incite by his all too militantly anti-white anti-american "God Damn America" "The United States of KKK" preacher or pastor . But folks it's ok ; Obama explained he told us black people are different than us predjudiced white folks like his white grandmother...pleez I noticed the difference between caucasians and African Americans when the blacks gave a murderer a pass "and it did fit ,but they chose to acquit"simply because he was one of them and black and she was one of those uppity whiteys who takes their men away.......I too find it hard to believe someone could be like a father to me (or old uncle as Obama puts it) and have never in 20 years heard him speak in this anti american and white bashing way..................If Obama is so tone deaf he didn't actually notice to include Mrs Obama well how anxious am I to see someone like that as our next president ............NOT!!!

You're right, there's nothing hypocritical at all about not talking about something when it is a relevant issue, but then almost two weeks later when your poll numbers drop again to try to bring up something that you know will make things divisive again.

Tsk! Tsk! Such hatred. You must lead a miserable existence. There is a saying - "Misery loves company". I cannot fathom living day to day with so much hate pent up inside me. Too bad, cause if you could find a little peace within yourself, you would grow a little more each day and find out that life really is beautiful. But you have to break that wall you have built up around you first.

If you think that sort of speechifying is anti-American, what must you think of Hillary's constant enabling of the neo-con agenda of destroying our Constitution and engaging in military aggressions overseas, for fun and profiteering? Wouldn't that make Hillary the MOST anti-American hypocrite of all?

Dragonfly142, I pray for peace and love in your life. I also PRAY that you will have the WISDOM to view the entire sermon of Rev. Wright's and not allow yourself to be lead by the tail by Fox News. You seem to have some sense of right and wrong. Therefore I appeal to the fair side of you to do what is right and research for yourself who Rev. Wright is and what he did or did not say. And I also humbly ask, In the Name of Jesus, who is the Lord of my life...that we STOP taking the Lord name (G.D.) in vain. For those of you who find it so offensive what Rev. Wright said, how can WE, God fearing & God LOVING Americans continue to do the same thing by TYPING those same OFFENSIVE words? Stop taking the Lord's name in vain, PLEASE!

If all else fails, bring up Jeremiah Wright. She should just buy a news station and run Jeremiah Wright clips all day long. Jeremiah Wright is her last hope.

#1: SHE didn't bring up Wright, a reporter asked her about it. #2: She gave a straight answer about how SHE would handle the situation if it was her, she didn't speak for Obama, and she didn't give an answer that would lead to follow-up questions and build this back into a big deal. I thought she handled it well. Obama is doing non-stop body slams on her, she has a right to put some of his sins back on him when given a chance.

Are ya always this gullible?

If she was so innocent in it, why did she have a prepped and carefully worded statement prepared and handy? Is she psychic? Cause that is the only way she can be "innocent" of deliberately bringing it up.

The body slams you see is your own head banging a wall while you fail to notice that Hillary hits first.

"The Pastors Are Coming! The Pastors Are Coming!"

Based on "The Russians Are Coming! The Russians are Coming" the story pits a small New England town against a U-Boat filled with black preachers, led by Rev. Jeremiah Write. The comedy centers around a love story, and a thrilling scene where a small boy is saved from falling off a church steeple by one of the preachers.

Pat Buchanan plays the signature role of the old mailman who rides through town yelling "the Pastors are coming!" at odd moments, seemingly oblivious to the fact that everyone knows this. (remarkable acting on the part of Pat Buchanan who somehow rides his bike "no-hands" while chopping the air in hatchet like motions with his hands to emphasize his point)

In the last scene, the frightened town folk save the preachers out of gratitude, and Buchanan, still yelling, "The Pastors Are Coming" rides his bike off the end of a pier.

(coming to a theater near you)
