Did Oprah's Dead Dog Buy Gayle's $7M Penthouse?

In January, Oprah pal Gayle King purchased a $7 million penthouse apartment in New York — and, at the time, we noted that the financing of her apartment was unknown.

This morning's Page Six reveals that the penthouse was "purchased in the name of Oprah's recently departed pooch, Sophie. According to deed-transfer records released yesterday, a company called Sophie's Penthouse LLC bought a $7.1 million full-floor sky palace atop the 36-floor building at 207 E. 57th St."

Oprah's 13-year old cocker spaniel, Sophie, recently died of kidney failure.

Hillary Clinton and her husband can dish it out non-stop (I just heard her say she shouldn't have said she came under attack in Bosnia, wah wah...) but apparently you don't think they can take it --little secret, they can't. Oh, well... here I go, falling into the tar pit also. What peeves me about Oprah is that
after acquiring what- a billion or two dollars in cash, real estate, TV, Broadway, publishing... she is still using a beard for those asinine photo shoots for flyover state rubes- "Oprah and Stedman's Sexy Vacation" and other such silliness. What on earth does Oprah Winfrey have to lose by coming
out as a lesbian? I can understand why she was closeted in the 80s and even 90s-- would Oprah's hardcore base of suburban and semi-rural white women embrace a black lesbian? No. But Jezus Effin Christ, this is 2008 for everybody. Well, except John McCain.

Stupid, stupid headline, and no story. First of all, dogs can't buy real property. Secondly, dead dogs certainly can't buy property. They would have to sign the loan documents and accompanying documentation, and dogs can't write their names, nor can they read . And of course, as much as Oprah loves her dogs, I doubt that the dog had two cents to rub together, let alone $7.1 million. Yes, my comment is as stupid as this story. I'm sure Oprah has many companies in many different names, just as many wealthy people do. She can name the LLC anything she pleases. She named one of her companies after her beloved dog. HuffPo, get over it.
