Obama Subprime

NY Times:

To listen to some of the discussion about the Democratic presidential contest these days, one would think that Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton should have spent Easter weekend in Chappaqua, writing her withdrawal speech and preparing for her return to the Senate....

Mr. Obama's side of the argument has become almost unassailable, while Mrs. Clinton's is, at the least, open to debate. Mrs. Clinton's best hope now is that Mr. Obama, as a candidate, suffers a political collapse akin to what has happened to the subprime mortgage market, a view shared by aides in both campaigns.

I like Hillary. To bad she won't win the primary. With her sniper fire story she just about took
Custer's last stand. It's time this bickering stops. Both candidates in my opinion are power hungry
hypocrits. I hope she writes her speech and goes back to the senate. Obama will win the primary, but will hit a brick wall in the general election. The Clintons now had a taste of what Jesus went through., when he got sold out by Judas and his brethrens. We all witnessed it and none of us would want to trade with either one of them right now.

I actually had a dream that Hillary came to her senses over the Easter break in NY. Realizing she can only "win" by cheating, she bowed out. It was so great, seeing her do something classy.....for a change.

But then I woke up back in the gutter, with Judas, "misspeaking", Pastor Wright. I am SO weary of the Clinton camp, everyday issuing another "whine and slime". How much more of this claptrap must we endure?

WHEN will Nancy and Howard show some backbone, tell her it's OVER?

monster Hillary thought it would have been a slam dunk, but Obama sure put a spoke in her wheel.

I'm a Democrat. And a Chappaqua native. I was really on the fence until Clinton started with her riducllous attacks -it became clear that a personal 'win' was more important than a real victory for the country.

At this point, If it ever came down to it, I would not vote for her -- she's no Democrat to me anymore. What is sad is that voters who think like this continue to get blamed for throwing elections to Republicans --when instead it's our candidates who refuse to live up to Democratic ideals.

THANK YOU. What you said is EXACTLY it! I was for Edwards, but--at the beginning of the campaign-- any of the candidates would have been fine with me (although I had some reservations about NAFTA and how HC's failure with healthcare made the situation so much worse for our workers). I would have cheerfully voted for her if she had maintained some decency and some dignity in her campaign..

What steams me is when the media describes the Democratic campaign as "mutual bickering" when it was Hillary and all Hillary who started to and continues to fling the dirt. If Obama tries to defend himself, he automatically becomes a "co-bickerer." And the media loves it....they keep saying that all campaigns are dirty the same way they would say that all cats are felines, and they keep playing and replaying the dirt...ie giving the dirt-slingers FREE airtime.

That's nonsensical crap. Yes, Hillary took the campaign into the gutter and damaged the Democratic chances in the general election, but when you vote, it's not about rewarding or punishing her personally. If you don't vote for Hillary (assuming she gets the nomination, which I hope she doesn't) you're saying that McCain's policies of a never-ending and expanding war in the Middle East, appointing Supreme Court Justices who will end a woman's right to choose, continuing tax cuts for the rich while public schools and bridges crumble, bother you less than pulling the lever for someone you don't like, however understandable your reasons for not liking her are. That's juvenile and self-destructive. If you didn't like the dairy industry, would you punish them by refusing to give your kids milk?

It's her ball; she decides if the new kid can play or not. she might take the ball home and then no one plays.

Clintons = power, Walmart and $$. Superdelegates voting in the Clintons favor against the popular vote = BIG PROBLEM at the convention. People are gearing up for a showdown.

With all the male politicans self-destructing lately with sex scandals and questionable money transfers, checking into hotel rooms with state money, lying under oath, having multiple affairs while still married, etc, Hillary should just hang in there. Tomorrow is another day and god knows if good old obama doesn't have one of these nasty little messes in his closet, after all he's been married 15 years, that's a long time.

Mmmmm the buts just keep coming . . .

But, what a preacher said from the pupil makes him unelectable. No
But, the primary's score should be tallied using electoral college votes. No
But, before the primaries end, his electability should be compared to McCain's, not mine's. No
But, I'm Hillary Clinton. So what.

When you look at both candidates,if you 're an honest person you have to say that Obama is more presidential than Hillary. Hillary is unstable, she has proven that several times throughout this campaign. She's not humble and she can't be trusted.I will never vote for her.

Very convenient that Puerto Rico switched from caucus to primary. You'd think the Clintons had connections in PR.

Our greatest risk is the integrity of the actual vote. Pennsylvania has unverifiable electronic voting machines and a highly motivated Clinton-backing governor and infrastructure. Am I jaded to be worried?

Caucuses are not fair to any stat, or any individual,. Why would you want a caucass when you know only a small portion of the voting electorate are represented and will get a chance to vote. And the ones that do show up are submitted to intimidation etc. If that is the way you think we shold elect our nominees and our President in this free country there is something wrong with you. Actually all Caucusses should be repealed they are a throw back from the early 1900's and not fair to anyone.

Be worried. Bloomberg already came out and said there was fraud in NY. There were recount calls in early democratic primaries in this race because of the same issue. And if I can google 30 ways to hack a voting machine than any freak and an agenda can do it. Too bad voting in the US isnt reliable at all.

No, we're new to PA, and already appalled by the crooked Democratic machine that operates mostly out of Philly, but that has big influence here in Pittsburgh too. I heard an analysis last night re the amount of good Rendell is doing Hillary because he is such a great campaigner. Yet, Rendell is a pal of Norman Hsu, the crook who gave lots of money to Hillary, and how can that be helping her?

If Rendell's campaigning for HC helps a good decent qualified candidate decide to oppose him (same goes for our boy mayor and his Democratic county crony), then some good will have come out of it.

I think the upcoming primaries are crucial to determine whether or not Obama has been fatally damaged by what Reverend Wrong has said. I thought that Obama gave a great speech about it and agree with what he says, but I don't live in Peoria, and neither do most of the Obama supporters who post here. I think this plays very badly there. I'm afraid that this has damaged him very badly with middle America. The results in the upcoming primaries will show whether this is a would that Obama can recover from and go on to win the election, or whether it has made him unelectable. Obviously I hope that it will show the former, but I will reserve judgement until I see the results. If the results do show that he is fatally damaged, then the superdelegates will have to do what they were put there for in the first place, prevent an unelectable candidate from getting the nomination on the basis of delegates he/she won before the thing that made him/her unelectable happened.

I can't see how the overblown "scandal" of Wright could possibly hurt Obama for long. What, the government needs to control all speech now, so that future politicians won't be disqualified by what someone they know says when not in their presence? Ridiculous.

So I guess we should look forward to the stove, microwave, dishwasher, and refrigerator to follow the kitchen sink.
