Poll: Obama Regains Big Lead In North Carolina

A new poll by Public Policy Polling (pdf) has Obama regaining a sizable lead the dissipated during the worst of the Wright controversy coverage. Obama leads in the poll by 21 points over his rival, 55-34.

Obama leads 80-14% among black voters.

Clinton leads 47-40% among white voters, which is a noticeable tightening; she led 56-30% only a week before.

What I find interesting is a review of the history of kimm2749's posts. They start out in February as a supporter of Clinton who acknowledges s/he "really likes Obama" but quickly over the period of two weeks they shift to "i will never vote for obama. mostly because his supporters are so nasty. I wonder what is the real reason for such a switch? And as I alude to in my other comment here, I am concerned that the emotional vitriol generated on both sides is poisoning the reasoning of people.

I am incredulous at the claim of any Democrat or Progressive Independent who is fed up with the last 7 years of the Bush Regime that they prefer McCain (with all his "vast" experience) over either Senator Clinton or Senator Obama. All that that superior experience you seem to believe he has will do is continue the failed foreign and domestic policies in place now and threatens to embroil us in yet another war in the Middle East against Iran, worsen our recession, continue the never ending entrenchment of corporate interests in our government and give us a Supreme Court that slides entirely to the Roberts/Scalia/Thomas right side of the spectrum and hangs over us for the rest of our lives (which for someone under 30 as you claim to be could be a very long time).

At least two Supremes will be retiring in the next 2 to 4 years and we have a chance to put some balance back into the court. In the following 4 years maybe even another two justices will retire so we have a chance to bring democracy and sanity back to this country.
