Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) hints at some behind-the-scenes activity to bring the Democratic nomination race to a close:

Q: Do you still think the Democratic race can be resolved before the convention?

Reid: Easy.

Q: How is that?

Reid: It will be done.

Q: It just will?

Reid: Yep.

Q: Magically?

Reid: No, it will be done. I had a conversation with Governor Dean (Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean) today. Things are being done.

Washington Monthly's Kevin Drum adds, "My mind is now at rest. Thanks, Harry."

HippoSlaver, where it leaves the party is in a place where we can seperate the wheat from the chaffe. People for Obama want change. Plain and simple. People for The Clinton's want more of the same crap that's been choking the political atmosphere in this country for over a decade.

HILLARY'S SUPPORTERS SAY "WE KNOW WE'RE DELUSIONAL. THERE'S NO WAY WE CAN WE, SO WE'LL JUST MAKE IT UP AS WE GO ALONG AND HOPE THAT OUR POOR, UNEDUCATED SUPPORTERS WILL GO ALONG. BY THE WAY, SHE INVENTED THE INTERNET. VOTE FOR HRC."

Question is being asked whether the democratic primary process is democratic. The question should be whether the process is thorough in filtering out not so great candidates. If it is just the choice by direct majority vote of the people, it is possible that the majority vote might have been cast without full information, or misleading information which might be very well realized after the vote was cast and before the final nomination. The delegate system seems to have been devised to resolve unexpected problems before nomination. The super delegate system is like a second line of defense so that the filtering process is thorough, and an ideal candidate thoroughly tested by the process is finally nominated. So the whole process may look undemocratic, if the super delegates will have an upper hand in the final nomination. But if th larger interest of the nation is served by their intervention, it is worthwhile. That supports the purpose why the super delegate system is devised. All said, outright rejection of Florida and Michigan primary election would be undemocratic whatever be the reasons. Devising rules as a punitive measure and denying their representation in the nominating process is more undemocratic than super delegates exerting their influence.

Let's not forget who has the undeniable delegate lead, the same person who has had the delegate lead for quite some time, and it is not Hillary Clinton! Yes, leave it to the democratic party to address the Clinton-fabricated buyer's remorse that voters are supposedly feeling to essentially discount and erase election results from 30 states and primaries! Talk about buyer's remorse. There are 2 votes I wish I could take back from the 1992 and 1996 elections!! Something tells me I'm not alone.

It would be great to see Obama lose the nomination just to see you Kool aid drinkers eat your hateful words. I have never seen such venom directed toward a candidate as I have seen by Obama supporters. I can't tell if I am listening to Right Wing flame throwers, or the newly formed Left wing Flame throwers.
You have all turned into Rush Limbaughs, just listen to yourselves. If you didn't like the Peace, Prosperity and racial harmony that the Clinton years brought, guess you should support Obama.

Well we know if Hillary is the "winner", hahaha, that Bill wrote out a very big check, and with that 500,000. donation to his library he's got the dough to do it.

Hillary and Bill continue this illusion of a campaign out of a sense of entitlement. Sorry Bill and Hillary but guess what. You are not going to get a second chance. It's been over since March 4th.

This is simply a scorched earth campaign. They can't win. They know they can't win.

The scenarios they mention are like magical thinking. Somehow Pledged Delegates to Obama are going to see the light after we have battered him into an unelectable shell of himself some how?

They are delusional. She has absolutely NO CHANCE TO BE THE DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE FOR PRESIDENT.

Bill and Hillary are simply doing the Republicans dirty work.

Hillary can't win a democratic primary without the Rush Republicans supporting her. The DNC needs to put an end to this tactic.

So Reid and Pelosi ... so far ... useless ... and this is no time for that. I used to like Pelosi ... no more ... soldiers die while she waits until after an election to make things better ... and him ... old and useless and I'm sure just opposed to change ... better or worse change. Retire!
I respect HRC more than ever ... no fairweather friend she. She is in it for real; to win; because it matters to her ... and she won't wait for a convenient time to make a difference. Go home Harry ... Go home Nancy ... you aren't doing anything in Washington ... that 's for sure.

I meant May 7th as Game Over Day. And the method to "get it done" is very simple. Get the remaining superdelegates to agree in choosing that day the candidate with the greatest number of pleged delegates.

Whew ... it'll sure be great when Hillary is escorted away. No more shrill ... no more Bill. Who knew these folks were this nasty, evil and manipultive?

No way Hillary would be handed the nomination at this point ... unless Reid is working directly for the NeoCons. Hmmm.

I think the worst part of all of this, is that we are looking towards the Dumborats to save us from the evils of the GOP Neo Nazi empire. Its pretty obvious our dumborats cant fight their way out of the wet paper bag. And if Shillary actually pulls off the nomination ( which it would take a lot of bargaining, threats, and cons to do it) she will be the cohesive binder that pulls every last loony GOP supporter out of the woodwork to vote for MCWar, and we dont need a crystal ball to see what will happen to America if that happens. Im not saying Obama would be a whole lot better, they are all corporate whores and totally un-loyal to America. What Im thinking is that it would be the difference between taking a Lamborghini to hell, or a Prius hybrid. Personally, when the finish line is losing freedoms and reaching 4th world status for the majority of Americans, Id rather be in the slow lane.

Why hasn't Hillary made a comment about Reverend Manning from Harlem whose vile and disgusting remarks are unlike any I ever heard from a minister. Manning refers to Obama being trash due to his biracial heritage. Manning is a supporter of Clinton because of money given. Reverend Wrights comments do not seem to be so controversial if you listen to the rest of the sermon. Americans need to learn more about our history to better understand the anger and resentment. Black people did not get their freedom once the Civil War ended, and many were falsely charged with crimes and forced to work without compensation to pay off their debt to society in Southern States for many decades after slavery was officially ended. Hillary is making the Democratic party into a racial divide and if the party leaders do not put an end to this soon--it will be a division that won't be repair for at least a generation.

I can't believe that anyone would want Hillary to drop out. she is the best candidate (even though the media has put Obama in a bubble and is pulling him over the finish line.) Obama sold out his Grandmother to make excuses for his racist Pastor. Hillary has showed she is tough enough to beat McCain in November. The GOP slime machine will eat Obama alive. Obama should bow out. Hillary has won in every state that the Dems will need in November. Obama has won states that wil go GOP in November. Keep the Fla & Mich voters out (like Mr. Democracy

We are in the final stage of her campaign. She is barely staying afloat financially, and her party support is showing signs of leaks. Chuck Todd predicts 20-25 superdelegates will announce their support for Obama before Pennsylvania. Brick by brick, this wall is coming down.
