Clinton also had a word to say about all the surrogates of both his wife's and Sen. Barack Obama's campaigns whom had been ejected, including former Obama campaign adviser Samantha Power, and former Clinton campaign finance committee member Geraldine Ferraro.

"I don't think any of these people oughta be asked to resign," said the former president. "All these guys that say bad things about any other campaign, they say should they resign? My answer is no, they're repeating the party line. They oughta stay right where they are.

"Let's just saddle up and have an argument," he continued. "What's the matter with that? That's what America's about, right?

Bill Clinton said he didn't give a "rip" about all the name calling going on among the candidates, and that they should just "saddle up and have an argument."

Bill just wants to get down and dirty. It's what he and Hillary do best.

Someone put him back in his box please.

His suggestion is counterproductive. I thought we all agreed that Hil and Obama have the same stance on most points.
All that leaves us to argue about is whatever the wayward staffers or spouses yap about. Oh, then there are the points made by talking heads. Yeah, let's argue over that drivel.

Guess what folks the national polls right now are at 45% Obama, 45% Clinton, so stop all this crap about Hillary dropping out.

Yeah but Hillary cannot win given the numbers. If they are even she will never catch up. She needs to face this fact.

Exactly. The poll is meaningless. It's over.

I disagree. James Carville has seriously crossed the line, and should be sidelined. That is who Bill is really standing up for with this comment. If it was an Obama persons he'd be shaking his finger and saying "shame, shame, shame." Any bets that there will be more boos than cheers for Bill at Denver?

I had no idea Democrats were such a bunch of wimps! No wonder the Repugs cleaned their clocks in 2000 and 2004. Folks, this is not a big sing along, and Kumbaya is definitely not on the agenda, at least not yet. Can we please just let Obama and Clinton fight this out mano a mano, get it all out their systems, and then kiss and make up at the convention?

Wondering if there is a limit as to how far the Clinton campaign may go to win, and to what lengths they may further go to politically undermine Sen. Obama, even to a possible scorched earth type campaign policy, out of desperation, within the Democratic party and the primary delegate process as a whole.
IMO the DNC better recognize quickly the possible further escalation of the Clinton campaign divisiveness, considering such comments, and the overall effects of their continuing Obama undermining, in order to try to win at any cost, before there may be little, positive left of the Democratic party and general election success come November.

And while Obama has endured gracefully the Clinton "kitchen sink" thrown at him constantly, I hope people (and the DNC) notice that he still stands strong, confident, Presidential, focused on the issues, unwavering, and on the high road- and his millions of supporters stand unwavering and assertive as well.

It might be acceptable if Bill were running for president but he doesn't seem to realize he's not.
Not only is he harming the Democrat's chances of overwhelming the broken voting system, getting involved in Hillary's misguided catfight is damaging his legacy of a popular, if somewhat dissolute, president.
It is absolutely tragic that Hillary is continuing to fight on when it's clear that she's not the voter's choice. She wins primaries by cheating, lying and hitting below the belt.. We've eight years of that sort of "power at any cost" and no one wants to see anymore of it..
What's even worse is that she isn't opposing the GOP's cult agenda or even mildly critical of the worst disaster to hit this country since the Civil War.

I think the true tragedy is that Hillary may be damaging her political self so much that she won't be Senate Majority leader-a job she'd be excellent at. I mean if anyone is going to be good at taking names and kicking @## it's going to be her.

This is actually the first thing Bill Clinton has said during this campaign that I agree with.

Really, Bill, that's what America's all about - saddling up & having an argument? Exactly which paragraph of the Constitution are you referencing when you make that assertion? Sure, constructive, thoughtful discussion & debate are healthy, but I seriously doubt that the kind of nasty innuendo, mud-slinging & divisive fear-mongering that your wife's campaign has engaged in is what the our founding fathers had in mind. It's bad enough when you engage in this kind of thing when running against an opponent from another party, but it's truly shameful & repugnant when you attack a member of your own party like this...

I forget, which Clinton is Obama running against? it's difficult to tell, since sniper bullet dodging Hillary always needs Bill to save her ass. Hillary needs to put on her big girl panties and fight her own battles after sending Bill and Gerry and Cajun Jimmy home!

Well on the up side, there is enough good one liners here to keep people laughing all the way to November.

Dean goes out with a "YEE HAW!!!" sound bite 4 years ago, and Hillary goes with broke back mountain references of "saddling up". Coincidence? I think a right wing conspiracy may be involved.
