MSNBC:

As expected, one of the two major Democratic candidates saw a downturn in the latest NBC/WSJ poll, but it's not the candidate that you think. Hillary Clinton is sporting the lowest personal ratings of the campaign. Moreover, her 37% positive rating is the lowest the NBC/WSJ poll has recorded since March 2001, two months after she was elected to the U.S. Senate from New York.

The poll was conducted Monday and Tuesday this week by Hart-McInturff and surveyed 700 registered voters, which gives the poll a margin of error of +/- 3.7%. In addition, we oversampled African-Americans in order to get a more reliable cross-tab on many of the questions we asked in this poll regarding Sen. Barack Obama's speech on race and overall response to last week's Rev. Jeremiah Wright dustup.

Hopefully Hillary's ratings will improve. Otherwise we will be stuck with a racist for a Democratic nominee.

Obama's 20+ year affiliation with racist Reverend Wright as his "spiritual adviser" sends chills down your back about what Barack thinks and says about people of other races in private. Now I understand why Obama's wife made those ungrateful remarks about multi-racial America.

Wright=Racism=Obama

Clueless much? You can try the Hillary/Rove soundbite strategy all you want, but it really doesn't work. Maybe you should actually pay attention to the context of the speech. Then maybe you should look at Hillary's pastor's comments absolving Wright of wrongdoing.

She had better hope this rancor and deceptiveness doesn't start to damage her in NY. Recent polls have her ahead of McCain 50% to 40% but Obama is 49% ahead to McCain's 38% showing she no longer holds a "home state advantage"

Steve, it is this attitude that has made her approval rating drop. Lie about sniper fire, and try to distract attention by giving an interview to a right wing editorial.

Stop with the meaness! You know that Obama is a gentleman who is always when speaking about Hillary very respectful. He has been trying as hard as he can to run a clean campaign.
You know in your heart of hearts that Obama doesn't hold the same thoughts as Rev. Wright.
Obama is a deep thinker, he seems to be an old soul. He as many of us know, that older people hold views that are unlike our own. My dad was an Archie Bunker bigot. I loved my father but he was older and lived different experiences as I did. Some days he would say very racist, hateful things. It didn't mean I loved my father any less, it just meant, that I didn't agree with him. And when did Americans become such wussies that we can't handle debates. Why do we have to try to destroy Obama, just because he is ahead in the race. Also, I go to church an don't agree with my minister. No one thinks the same, we are individuals with seperate thoughts and minds.
United we stand, divided we fall!!!

I'm an Obama supporter (read my history is you don't believe me), however, the article states that:
"In addition, we oversampled African-Americans in order to get a more reliable cross-tab on many of the questions we asked in this poll regarding Sen. Barack Obama's speech on race and overall response to last week's Rev. Jeremiah Wright dustup. "
OK, the fact that this poll purposely "oversampled" one particular group, a group which is 80 to 90% in opposition to Hillary Clinton, is by definition a dishonest poll. You might as well "oversample" Rupublicans and I'd bet we could get a Hillary approval rating around 5%. The whole poll and article are dishonest and should be disregarded.

Erm, you clearly have no idea what oversampling means... It's just a mechanism to allow more of a certain group into your study. That way, you will get more reliable answers to certain questions. In this case, you could get a better sense of the percentage of white people that supported Obama vs percentage of black people etc etc.

For the overall approval rating however, they would have adjusted to take the oversampling into account.

"The main sample for the survey was a cross section of 700 registered voters nationally. As is the case with all of our usual polls, this sample is statistically representative of voters across the country, accurately reflecting the gender, age, educational, geographical, and racial makeup of the electorate. The column in the topline document labeled “All Voters”, as well as nearly all of the subgroups listed in the survey crosstabs, are among these cross section of 700. Eleven percent (11%) of these interviews -- or 77 interviews -- were with African Americans, which accurately reflects African Americans’ proportion of the electorate. Thus, African Americans are NOT over-represented in our national sample.

In addition to this national cross section, we interviewed an extra 100 African Americans to analyze the opinions of this group with a greater degree of statistical reliability. We combined these 100 only with the 77 African Americans that naturally fell into our national sample, for a total of 177 interviews with African Americans; these extra interviews were not combined with the full national sample of 700. The column in the topline document labeled “African Americans” shows the responses of these 177 respondents, as do the subgroups in the crosstabs for African Americans, African-American men, and African-American women."

How embarrasing for Hillary. Where is your pride? I admire your tenacity but not your devistation of the Democratic Party or your lies and half truths. It is interesting to watch as you develop a new math, not the one that says 2 and 2 equal 4 but the creative ways you are trying to make it come out your way. IT'S NO WONDER YOUR LIKEABILITY NUMBERS ARE PLUMMETING. Say what you want but Obama is smart, honest, likeable, fresh, new and offering new ideas for fixing the mess left by the Bush presidency. Hillary offers the same old, same old, tied into the power brokers, and the corporayte interests that run this country to fatten their wallets and suck the average American dry. I'll put my hopes and dreams in the election of Obama. He will not let us down. America for once vote your hopes and dreams and your childrens future. Obama YES WE CAN.

It will be very healthy for the Clintons to fail and to work through what that means. They might even learn to be more honest, if their tricks and tactics don't work in this election.

The Clintons so much about everything, but keep forgetting that when there are videos capturing everything they do, they have to stop lying. I think it is too late to learn honesty, especially when they have succeeded in the past by being dishonest.

As Hillary's supporters flee in droves out of embarrassment, her numbers will continue to dwindle, just as many polls show that Obama has already bounced back from the speciously culled Wright videos.

Even SHE must know that it's just a matter of time, yet she continues to drag this out harming the party.

She is rapidly building a legacy she'll find difficult to escape.

Why do you think those voters gave a single thought to Hillary's support of NAFTA? The voters who put Hillary over the top in Ohio were "Reagan Democrats" who would not vote for a black person if they descended from heaven on wings with God's seal of approval. Reagan Democrats vote God, guns, and gays, oh yes, and race. And in November, they will all put McCain bumper stickers on the backs of their 10 year old pick-ups and "Support the Troops" signs in the yards of their foreclosed-upon houses and double-wides. These are NOT the brightest bulbs in the Democrat's firmament.

nurseattorney., Oh here we go again. All the voters that voted for Hillary in Ohio and probably will vote for her in Penn, are either Rush L. Repubs, reagan democrats, or just plain stupid people.

You Obama guys can spin anything can you. Why can't you just admit that your candidate can't win the big states with a diverse group of people living in it!

He can't win states unless they aer populated by a large majority of rich, white people, African-Americans, or college kids. That's the damn facts! Face it!

Did you say Hillary lied about NAFTA? The world really has turned upside down. Just to remind you, while Sen. Obama's economic advisor , Goolsbey, Obama was telling reporters it didn't happen. Where did you get the idea Sen. Clinton lied about it since one of Sen. Obama's own supporters from the Clinton White House, David Gergen, said she opposed it? Another David Axelrod and Barack Obama lie and I expect we will hear all about it in the next debate.

Clinton campaign has found a new angle: imaginary electoral college votes. It is sending surrogates out to push the idea that superdelegates should vote for the candidate who would have come out ahead if the primaries were awarding electoral college votes instead of delegates.

“I believe strongly that in a democracy, we should respect the will of the people and to me, that means it’s time to do away with the Electoral College and move to the popular election of our president.

Uh-oh...Someone's talking out of the other side of her mouth again...

New Poll Weakens Clinton Supporters' Electoral College Argument
A new poll in California shows more voters now have a positive view of Obama despite Clinton's Super Tuesday win in the state
By Justin Ewers
Posted March 27, 2008

excerpt:

If the general election were held today, the poll indicates that Obama, not Clinton, would do better here: He polls at 49-to-40 percent over McCain, while Clinton-McCain is a statistical tie (46 percent of voters say they would support Clinton; 43 percent for McCain).

Gee. Ya think that might be the cause?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 01:09 PM on 03/27/2008

No....the results were weighted. Check out this for an explanation:

http://talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/185845.php

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 01:21 PM on 03/27/2008

These results were not "weighed" in accordance with standard statistical procedures with regard to sampling a population. This poll, as with most from these news organizations lately, is skewed in an effort to manipulate the results in favor of their preferred candidate. What a shocker.

"Gee. Ya think that might be the cause?"

No. pollsters will often over sample to get a suitable number of a (comparatively rare) group that accurately represents that group -- but when coming up with a consolidated response, they weight the groups, to correct for the over-sampling.
