MSNBC:

As expected, one of the two major Democratic candidates saw a downturn in the latest NBC/WSJ poll, but it's not the candidate that you think. Hillary Clinton is sporting the lowest personal ratings of the campaign. Moreover, her 37% positive rating is the lowest the NBC/WSJ poll has recorded since March 2001, two months after she was elected to the U.S. Senate from New York.

The poll was conducted Monday and Tuesday this week by Hart-McInturff and surveyed 700 registered voters, which gives the poll a margin of error of +/- 3.7%. In addition, we oversampled African-Americans in order to get a more reliable cross-tab on many of the questions we asked in this poll regarding Sen. Barack Obama's speech on race and overall response to last week's Rev. Jeremiah Wright dustup.

Typical Huffpost! How about the fact that 29% of Clinton supporters will vote for John McCain if Obama is the nominee!

The Clintons as SPOILERS. Well, that's what happens when a candidate from the same party uses a "kitchen sink" strategy against a fellow Democrat who happens to be the likely nominee. Nicholas Kristof wrote an excellent editorial in this morning's NY Times in which he predicts that the Clintons will become the "Nader" of '08 in that they are doing everything that they possibly can to make Obama as unelectable as possible and, in the process, handing the election to John McCain. It is almost a guarantee that should this continue, the Clintons will lose any legacy of goodwill that they earned within Democratic circles and will most certainly be reviled for years to come. They will forever be remembered as the "spoilers" -- the "Nader" of 2008.

Anybody remember the LA debate? Wasn't that where I heard, " I just want to say, it's an honor to be here with you Barack Obama!".
Am I confused? Maybe I'm too stressed being under "sniper fire and evasive manuevers".

We just heard about the way the Clintons are threatening the Superdelegates - " You are off the Preisdent's list, you political life will be over, you will not get any more favors" Now this is sure what we want from a President!

Clinton is not good on the economy. WHY? She is squandering money trying to dig up dirt on Obama. However, the return on her money is that HER negative are rising and his positives are rising. This is showing me more and more who the "real" Hillary is and it's not pretty.

As people have said over and over. She will say and do anyting to WIN. This is no longer about the American people. This is no longer about the Democratic party. This is purely about the Clintons and them thinking they can threaten, lie, and steal the highest office in this country. That will NOT happen. Thank goodness she is showing her true colors and vetting Obama at the same time. She cannot win in the general - he can. I will say he has been battle tested. As soon as Obama and mcCain start the run to the election, it will be easy to beat the Republicans on issues alone. Obama is the tough one. After all the Clinton machine tactics, he is still standing and staying on message. Let her continue to destroy whatever goodwill the Clintons had. They are not good people and we are seeing that clearly.

Go easy on Hillary.

Her hallucinations about her combat experiences are because of sleep deprivation due to all of those 3 AM calls from super delegates informing her that they're going for Obama.

Oversampling the black vote, around 12% of the voters makes this poll garbage.

Then explain why he is winning in delegates, popular vote and States? Please explain.

Ask the DNC why they have a primary where there is no clear winner. The rules state the winner needs 2,025 and no one will have them before the convention.

Do you people know what "oversampling" means?

They do it to get a better statistic for a certain demographic. But that statistic is not factored into the final number at a higher percentage than the the demographic represents in the population.

Of course we do. What it means, for those who actually studied in class is that the margin of error is much higher within those subgroups. Further, this poll was taken at the crest of impact from the Obama Pastor Disaster speech, another margin of error not factored in, since this slants the poll closer to fleeting opinion as opposed to action. So skewing the Black vote will make this poll imply that Obama has weathered the storm more than he actually has in fact. This makes that indication garbage.

The real news here and it is negative for Obama is that the people who say they will vote for Clinton are higher than those that have a positive opinion of her. This likely means that her negatives do not hurt her when people make their final voting decision. They do not find any reason to vote for Obama, in the face of reasons to vote against someone else.

I am no fan of Ann Coutlett but I must admit I just had a moment of "I was thinking of exact same thing" with her. Hillary was swiftboated by the media and Obama people:

Ann Coulter?!?!?!??! You are giving Ann Coulter credibility? She's race baitiing in that article calling Barack, B. Hussien Obama.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 08:42 AM on 03/27/2008

Extract from her article:

"The reason no one claims Hillary is being "swiftboated" is that the definition of "swiftboating" is: "producing irrefutable evidence that a Democrat is lying." And for purposes of her race against matinee idol B. Hussein Obama, Hillary has become the media's honorary Republican.

In liberal-speak, only a Democrat can be swiftboated. Democrats are "swiftboated"; Republicans are "guilty." So as an honorary Republican, Hillary isn't being swiftboated; she's just lying.

Indeed, instead of attacking the people who produced a video of Hillary's uneventful landing in Bosnia, the mainstream media are the people who discovered that video.

I've always wondered how a Democrat would fare being treated like a Republican by the media. Now we know. "

You mean AFTER the Clinton's tried to swiftboat Obama on Rev. Wright. Please - don't start whinning for Clinton. It's so false. Hey Clinton lied about Bosnia - who's fault is that. Also, American had the decency to look up rev. Wright's sermons in totality - not just the snippits and they are playing in the MSM.

Did you even read this article? It is filled with so much ridiculousness that I am surprised even Ann Coulter wrote it. Read her definition of what "swiftboating" is, and you will see how referencing this article, at all, is simply stupid.
Let's think before we blindly support our beleagured candidates, people.

That - is the dumbest thing I've seen anyone post.

Did you read it? It basically says "Look, Hilary lied about Bosnia, and the evidence was shown by video tapes. So did John Kerry. about Vietnam, and the evidence came from men who claimed to have been there. They're both liars."

The problem is - John Kerry didn't lie. He got his purple hearts, was wounded in battle, and saved men's lives. Senator Clinton lied, and was caught on tape about it.

In Kerry's case, you had people who put in documentation at the time saying "Oh, yeah, he totally saved those guys!" - then 40 years later say "Uh, well, I changed my mind." Or these "swift boat vets" *who weren't even there at the time*, making claims of "Well, a guy I heard from who was there said this*.

Nobody "swift boated" Hilary. She made a statement four different times. Then physical, hard, video evidence came out proving she lied.

Kerry told the truth, lived with that truth for 40 years, had and has documented evidence and eye witness testimony of the truth - and was "swift boated" by men who have given contradictory statements.

Sorry - but once again, you can't believe anything that Ann Coulter says.

Huff Po readers have all overused the word lie to the extent it sounds thread bare.

A statement made in good faith that turns out later to be untrue is called a lie.

An opinion different than yours is called a lie.

An exageration is called a lie.

Some two families have made their political careers by liying to and dividing people based on race, gender, sexual orientation, class-welfare and they have ruled this country for the last 24 years - Clinton and Bush.

The only way McCain wins is if the people who voted for Obama or Hillary sit at home or vote for McCain out of spite. Each side is threatening the same thing: If Obama/Hillary gets the nomination then McCain will win. Why? The math doesn't support this argument. Primary voter turn-out for the Dems was astronomical. The only way this could happen is if the Dems let it happen.
I support Obama, and if Hillary gets the nomination I'll be disappointed, upset and furious. What I won't be is stupid. I will vote Democratic. If it's McCain vs. Obama, I will vote FOR Obama. If it's McCain vs. Hillary, I will vote AGAINST McCain. Different mindset, but same result. There is simply too much on the line (Supreme Court, endless war, the environment, etc) to do otherwise.

Personally, I could no longer do that, I would have to completely compromise my own principles if the Democratic Party leadership does hijack this primary, they do not deserve my vote.

So all you Clinton supporters had better make a choice Obama or McWar, Pick one?

I have a huge problem with Hillary basically campaigning for McCain and endorsing McCain at this point. Obama is certainly not endorsing McCain over Hillary, like Hillary has now done on several occaisions. I think that their scorched earth campaign, combined with Hillarys War vote, support of Patriot Act and other proof of bad judgement will prevent many democratic and Independent voters from supporting her under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES

Whatever respect I ever had for Bill Clinton is completely over now too. For shame

If Clinton runs against McCain, there is little choice. It's simply which warmonger do you prefer? If you don't believe Clinton is a warmonger, you must have missed her last 7 years of Senate votes. Their Senate voting records are almost mirror images of each other as will be their presidential agendas.

Do prefer the same bad Bush policies continued by someone labeled Democrat or Republican? That will be the "choice" you are being offered. Do you want war with Iran from a leader in a pantsuit or a traditional business suit?

The DNC needs to step in and end this bullshit. Short of Hillary winning the remaining states by enormous margins (an impossible scenario) she is not going to catch Obama. The supers can put an end to this madness by going with the winner. Pelosi is a lot of things but she is right when she says that the super delegates need to follow the will of the people. Why hold a primary or a caucus if the super delegates are not going to follow the will of the people? Instead just get all the supers in one room, have them listen to all the candidates and vote for them. The one with the highest number of supers becomes the candidate. Simple and cost effective.

Oh my, he NEVER said they met at the Selma church!!!!!!! Please, the Hillary demographic folks, please learn to listen, read and comprehend better. The reports is that he said his parents went ahead with their interracial marriage because of the 'stirrings' around Selma Alabama, not because they met at the church. EVERYONE knows they met at the University of Hawaii, geeeez.
