New York Times:

It is an axiom of political debates that lagging competitors always want them more than front-runners. CBS News, which lags well behind its competitors in most areas of television news, wants a debate between Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton in the worst way.

The network may get its wish this week. After every other national television news organization -- even the Spanish-language Univision -- has been center stage in a debate-cluttered election season, CBS is expected finally to land a prime-time face-off between Senator Obama and Senator Clinton.

the mainstream media don't like hillary any better than Obama; they're just propping her up to weaken the democratic chances against Old Man Quiver. McCain has the media in his back pocket. The executives and owners of corporate media like him for obvious reasons, and he ass kisses the pie faced video journalists (so called). His economic forecast showed what a bonehead he was about the financial markets, but not a discouraging word from the all boy's choir (yes, katie couric grew up and became a boy) about it. instead they keep throwing Clinton v Obama in our face, 24/7.

CBS won't get a debate for two big reasons... First, Hillary is afraid to have another debate, especially now that her lying to the public is playing out. Secondly, there's a huge lack of credibility with Katie Couric... not necessarily her fault, but she's still perceived as the cute little lady on the Today Show. She's not got the political chops yet to host something this big. D.

Hmmm..."struggling"?

Perhaps that explains my perception that CBS went from "neutral" to "pro-Hillary" about four weeks ago?
