Mccain Ethics

Time:

The U.S. senate is a lousy launching pad for sainthood, a place of compromise and backslaps, of hidden doors that lead to gilded rooms where the real work gets done. To succeed is to succumb, often to the courtship of big-ticket donors....

In the free-fire information war of a presidential campaign, such nuance can easily get lost in the sound bites. So for McCain, his ability to explain these complex relationships with lobbyists and monied interests is about to be tested. The appearance of impropriety may well be just that -- appearance instead of reality. Nonetheless, McCain is now in the awkward position of hoping voters will give him the benefit of the doubt that he has denied to others.

McCain is a joke - an old, worn-out joke. If you like what's been going on in this country during the last pathetic eight years, vote for him. If you do, the joke will be on you!

AND me. . . and every single one of us. It is beyond comprehension that this mean old fossil actually has a chance to become POTUS.

It's unfortunate that Sen. McCain will never be scrutinized by the media in the manner that Sen. Clinton and Sen. Obama have been vetted.
Sen. McCain has made the journalists covering his campaign a personal tool of his.

I think as time goes on the media are going to get tired of is same old comments coming from McCain and are going to be really pushing him especially about the lobbyists. The other side will demand it and the 527s will be running ads about his cozy relationships with the lobbying, banking and communications businesses. His handlers will demand that he clam-up and the fawning from the media will end.

I think the MSM needs to rotate their reporters from canidate-to-canidate so that none of them can get too cozy with their subjects. This business of cozying up to your subject does a huge disservice to the very people that they are reporting too and they lose credibility. Dana Bash has lost all cred with me. Hey, Dana, the surge is NOT working, have you been watching the news out of Iraq lately?

The war and thew economy are two things that McCain cannot fix so why does he run? Family values - no house, no health insurance, no job security. What are they going to do - pray all day? I never saw McCain pray even once. All he did is to dump his wife and marry some beer distributorship money. What a hero!

The corporate media could try and prop up this old man all they want. He is toast!!!!.

No matter what an insignificant poll about divisions hyped up by the media says, Democrats are going to win by a landslide.

Right. How much would you like to wager. The reason he is like is because he is available for anybody to answer questions.Obama has to be with somebody that is vetted before interview.Keep on drinking the koolade!

"Available to answer questions," you say!

What is that worth when he needs that slimy Lieberman attached at his hip to whisper in his ear when he shows his ignorance? Lieberman does so in front of the cameras for all the world to see just how incompetent McCain is. . . and too lazy to do any research before he speaks on foreign policy in the region he is visiting.

AND where on earth did you come up with that hugely stupid statement that Obama has to be with somebody vetted before he answers questions???

Obama is the greatest orator and extemporaneous speaker of our time, and YOU compare him unfavorably to the death-warmed-over, whispery monotone of McCain???

those ethical double standards are aided and abetted by the MSM. When reporters like Dana Bash reported, during MCain's bar-b-que bash, how much fun they had and pubished McCain's recipe for baby back-ribs, it became obvious he'd get a free pass from all those reporters. a love fest between a politician and the media isn't a good background for pressing for insight and truth
