Somebody forgot to tell Hillary Clinton the Democratic presidential race is over and Barack Obama won.

Obama has captured more state contests, more votes and more of the pledged convention delegates who will help decide which Democrat faces Republican Sen. John McCain in November's presidential election.

I have read so many blogs about Rev. Wright being the REASON some voters are rejecting Sen. Obama. It seems to me that we Democrats have forgotten what the Democratic Party stands for. Freedom of religion is one of the precious rights that America is founded on and it is most disturbing that someone claiming they are TRUE DEMOCRATS is using an American's choice of religion as the reason for not supporting him. By no means am I agreeing with the Rev. Wright's words and these awful words were rejected by Sen. Obama. My God, are we Communist or what? We, Democrats - of all people - are suppose to be choosing a candidate who best represent the Democratic party's basic constitution which is rights to all people without consideration of gender, race, religion, age, or socioeconomic status. Remember the pledge of allegiance? It says, "one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all." The pledge of allegiance has basically been Obama's platform and is the main reason I am voting for him because I am a TRUE DEMOCRAT and passionately believed we were the party which embraced ONE NATION UNDER GOD, INDIVISABLE, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL. I am voting for the future Presidents named Susie Wong or Jose Mendez or Ronald Goldberg or Sandy Hasselhoff or Helen Honolulu. This election shows how truly Democratic we are not. We will actually use gender, race, or religion has a deterrent for seeking a representative of America.

Mrs. Clinton has the right to stay in the race as long as she wants, whatever the odds. However, she does not have the ethical and moral right to say anything, do anything, or trash anybody to steal the nomination. After all, it is a matter of simple decency. It is also essential that she be truthful, decent and transparent.

Look. Choosing someone to lead our nation for the next four years is not easy. We never know what the person will or can do once he/she is in the White House (a good example is the uniter GWB!). However, if the person we select is a honest, decent and compassionate human being, I am quite sure he/she will do what is right and best for us all. We really need somebody there who wants to serve, not who wants to leverage that office for personal gains. This point is very, very important, far more important than policy positions or whether he/she is liberal or conservative.

All things considered, it appears that Obama is more trustworthy, honest and decent than Hillary. And that is good enough for me. I am sure there are millions of Americans, who feel the same way in the remaining states. So let Hillary continue to run. The voters will make the right choice and Obama will win the nomination, no matter what tactics Hillary, Bill and supporters use. At least, I hope they do. If not, we deserve what we get!!!

Actually, someone forgot to tell Obama that he does not have enough votes to win at this point maybe he should get out.

Why is it that so many Americans want to deprive other Americans from having your voices heard??? So the majority of Americans have voted....and they votes have been counted... Now, Let the remaining American's VOTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.... they have to right to cast thier vote and it be counted for the canidate of thier choice. They don't need to be told that this race has been decided...that thier vote in this race doesn't count. That is what America is all about .... choice, freedom to vote.... And if this is such a HORROR in the democratic party.... THEN... Obama should withdraw from the race....

Why is it that we never hear about the disenfranchised Republican voters?? Because they have better sense than we do? Because they could see that for the good of their own party the wise thing to do was to solidify behind a candidate early and to spend the remaining time beuilding a war chest to beat the hell out of us come November instead of us beating the hell out of ourselves between now and then?? Nope. I haven't heard a peep from a single voter in one of the remaining states who complained that the didn't get to cast a vote for their "other" Republican candidate..... and we say we Democrats don't have division in our party.... sureeeeeeeee

witchie --

You have an appropos screen tag . . . and you propose a strawman argument -- no one is trying to DENY anyone's right to vote.

The remaining primaries will be held, just as they have been held in previous prez races, and voters will cast their votes for whomever they choose, just as they have always done. I've voted in many primaries when the candidate had already been determined, but I voted for who I wanted anyway.

Why are you trying to create a crisis where none exists? Bullies tend to operate the same way as you Clintonistas do -- people are easier to manipulate in a chaotic situation, right?

Yes, all this good, clean fun is sooooo fucking good for the party, isn't it? Oh, I forgot -- it's not about the party -- it's about THE CLINTONS!!!!!

And the Clinton's believe in "choice, freedom to vote'? Good old Bill this morning on Good Morning, America said that he has a new way for his wife to become the nominee - only count the 40 primaries not the 18 caucuses. In a call with supporters in Texas, he said: 'Hillary's gonna wind up with the lead in the popular vote in the primary states. It's the caucuses ... that have been killing us.' In other words, since my state only holds caucases, my vote should not count? Losing argument, witchie.

well, then someone forgot to tell Barack Obama to stop campaigning and just sitback because he's won. Right? Why should he be campaigning in NC, KY, WV, IN, PR - he can kick back his heels and know he's gonna be fine. and all of you should stop griping now that you're in the clear.

Given that all of us like to call the game before it's over, then, we mine as well say the Republicans have won - we should think about all of those G-D Damn America ads that will be run - Rev Wright has made BO unelectable.

He has to campaign as long as Hillary continues too. This game would be over if Hillary were the front runner. I have no problem with continuing on with the campaigning if it were possible for Hillary to win, but it's not. I believe that if the roles were reversed Barack would bow out gracefully in order to work on uniting the party.

As far as the G-D America ads...He's a big boy and he can handle it, just like Hillary could handle the many, many, many attacks the Repubs would send her way. Both candidates are strong so let's not pretend. If Rev Wright makes BO unelectable, then surely, Bill Clinton, Whitewater, Bosnia, Monica L, and many other issues would make Hill unelectable too.

The Republicans know that if they make Wright an issue in a McCain v Obama campaign, they'll be facing 527 ads filled with Hagee and Falwell. This is why McCain has already distanced himself from the Wright issue - he knows it will backfire on him if he gets involved.

The Wright issue has caused little more than a ripple in polling. He may have been hurt slightly in states where a poor showing was expected, but he may have received a bump in states where a good showing was expected.

In a general election, the Wright issue will only continue to be an issue for those who wouldn't have voted for Obama in the first place, and those who continue to raise the issue are the same people who were against an Obama candidacy before the Wright issue anyway. I suspect the overall number of defectors or abstainers will be much smaller than expected come November regardless of the nominee.

Personally, I think the Wright issue says a great deal more about the people who are "offended" by it than it does about Sen. Obama.

I don't understand how any democrat can think McCain is going to be able to prevsail over Obama. There is absolutely no evidence to support this. Imagine a debate between these two, a doddering old man without a clear vision vs. a young, vital and well spoken pro. Not only will Obama beat McCain, it will be a decisive victory.

Well, If Obama wins since I believe that he is a light weight opportunist, a fake and a fraud. I know that will vote for McCain.

HOT OFF THE PRESS! Senator Bob Casey of PA is endorsing Obama on Friday and joining the 6-day Obama Bus tour.

HOT OFF THE PRESS!!

Pennsylvania Sen. Bob Casey plans to endorse Sen. Barack Obama for president today in Pittsburgh, sending a message both to the state's primary voters and to undecided superdelegates who might decide the close race for the Democratic presidential nomination.

The endorsement comes as something of a surprise. Casey, a deliberative and cautious politician, had been adamant about remaining neutral until after the April 22 primary. He had said he wanted to help unify the party after the intensifying fight between Obama and Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton.

If this is true, thank GOD for Casey. We are new to PA and were beginning to despair about the influence of the state Democratic machine.

There are plenty of women who can replace Hillary as the standard-bearer of the cause for female empowerment. She won't be missed. She'll be seen as big a mistake and Bush (and his Administration) was for the Republicans.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 03:37 AM on 03/28/2008

Why don't you tell me about some of the women out there who can be elected to the presidency and when? In another 250 years? It will probably take that long for women to really come together and get behind one of their own because so many of the young women don't think they need to raise the glass ceiling.

To get behind this woman would be a disgrace to our gender. She'd represent dishonesty and greed if she got in. She represents that now. I want no part of that.

It won't take that long. The next President after Obama will be a woman, whether Republican or Democrat. The country will demand it. I'm sure of it. There are about a dozen in the pipeline. It just won't be narcissist pre-Madonna like Hillary. She'll be grounded and humble like Barack.

Somebody forgot to tell the media that this isn't THEIR call... and we're still grappling with the consequences of their lazy, half-witted stenography leading up to the invasion of Iraq.

Try concentrating on not inventing narratives, putting words in the mouths of candidates, then obsessing -- 24/7 -- on your own inventions.

The press is dead. Long live the press.

I do hope that you libs are listening to Rush every day.

"Operation Chaos" is in full gear.

In fact, several Republicans who "crossed over" have called in; they not only "crossed over" but attended Dem caucas meetings and were ELECTED as Hillary delegates.

Damn, how funny!

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 02:13 AM on 03/28/2008

Funny? You think that's funny? I think it is un-American. One thing is clear, though: the Republicans know they can beat Hillary in a general election. They do not believe they can beat Obama in a general election. This is why they want Hillary to be the nominee for the Democrats...they a drooling over the prospect of running against her. Obama scares them. They see the massive turnouts he has and they quake in their boots. They know that if Obama is the Democratic nominee, not only will he beat McCain, but also, because of the massive turnout of Democratic voters that will his candidacy has and will spark, the Republicans know they will lose a lot of seats in both the House and the Senate, enabling Obama to bring about exactly the kind of change he has been talking about throughout his campaign. It appears the Republicans have thought this thing through much more thoroughly than Hillary's supporters, who are blindly supporting the one person who can cause a tremendous Republican turnout in a general election. She is the one person who unites the REPUBLICAN party! Don't believe me? Just ask Rush Limbaugh...why do you think he wants Republicans to vote for Hillary? There can be only one logical reason: the Republicans know Obama means massive defeat for them in the general election.

Think about it...if thinking is, indeed, in your repetoire! The kindergarten prank that has the fat drug-addled thug and his moronic sleazeball dittoheads chuckling up their snooty little sleeves won't seem as funny nor so "clever" BY FAR when Democrats start causing CHAOS on your side. I sincerely hope that LImbaugh is sent to the slammer for TREASON...the same way Bush1 and Reagan should have been sent after their attempt to subvert the separation of powers with Iran Contra. And how about lying about reasons to invade a country that did nothing to us and killing hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians, over 4,000 (so far) of our military, and sacking our national treasury? HOW TREASONOUS IS THAT? Anybody involved in that particular deception ought to be sent to the Graybar Hotel as well.

Why do the MILITANT Republicans sleazeballs, the ones who wear those bogus rhinestone flags in their lapels always figure out yet another way to subvert *democracy.* Democrats who behave like WWF wrestlers ought to be sent to the slammer too, if they engage in democracy-perverting.

Republicans almost always expect Democrats to behave better than they, themselves, are willing to behave. I am not for either of the Clintons (anymore), but don't forget the conservative darling, Richard Mellon Scaife, the one who paid richly for scrutinizers and liars to bring down the Clintons, behaved MUCH worse in his two marriages than Clinton behaved in his.

That ain't the way it works, & I'm am very anti-Clinton.

As Bill said today, "There's 'no quit' in my family; if Obama doesn't want to get bloodied, he should not be running for office."

I mean, Bill Clinton & Obama? A man & a boy.

Most people in this country don't think she's "fair game" to inappropriate questions. Maybe you didn't see the reception the big man on campus got with his fifteen minutes of fame. The only person who agreed with him was Maurene Dowd and she doesn't count.

By November the dollar will be one fifth of what it was worth (against the Euro) in January 2001.

Back then the Republicans were saying that the Euro - a cross national currency - was a bad idea that couldn't stand.

Excuse me while I choke on my preztle over that.

The Republicans cannot dodge the issue of the dollar's collapse. Yes indeed, Obama will mop the floor with McCain.
