Reuters:

Somebody forgot to tell Hillary Clinton the Democratic presidential race is over and Barack Obama won.

Obama has captured more state contests, more votes and more of the pledged convention delegates who will help decide which Democrat faces Republican Sen. John McCain in November's presidential election.

Regardless of what you think of Hillary Clinton, this race isn't over until the primaries are over. Just because Obama is ahead now doesn't mean he's won. We might as well declare him president because he's ahead of John McCain in the national polls now. Obama may lose Pennsylvania and some of the other states coming up. Fair is fair. Obama should not be crowned but voted into office. I support him but want this election to be honest and fair.

Such Un-American CRAP!

Polls don't determine election outcomes -- VOTES do!

At this point NEITHER has a majority of necessary votes (aka delegates).

Anyone who wants to declare this race over has to explain to me how that is possible given Obama doesn't HAVE the 2025 necessary.

And yes, I do understand math and projections. But that's NOT the point here.

And you democrats (with a little d) know it.

I'm passed being pissed off at the Clinton's, it now seems humorous and a little sad. How will she or her husband ever be taken seriously again? They'll be the continued butt of late night jokes for years to come...

Last time I checked, Obama didn't have enough delegates to clinch the nomination. Maybe something happened while I was out to dinner. Or maybeReuters has its head up it's bum. Obama has yet to close the deal. This isn't over. And frankly, I am dismayed that so many people are so eager for the process to be done with. It's still March, for crying out loud.

He has won the vast MAJORITY of states. There are only so many contests, and when you are winning the states by a 2 to 1 margin, leading in delegates and popular vote, it adds up.

Hillary can only win by upseting the will of the people.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 07:13 PM on 03/27/2008

Yeah, he won the small states. She won the big states.

So then why bother with an election process at all? Let's just declare McCain the winner of the general election, by this logic. If we're not all collectively deciding, nor going by the "rules" - including that superdelegates get the overrides they were designed to get, when things like entire states are getting disenfranchised and 5,000 caucus voters equate with 1.5 million primary voters - then wtf, let's just name the next king.

Which states though? Alaska? there were like six hundred total votes. Many of Obama's states are small or they don't matter in a general. That is to say, some states are going to go for the Republicans no matter what, and some are going to the Dems no matter what. Only several of the states are really meaningful. Hillary has won almost all of them.
If you count Forida and Michigan then the popular and delegate votes are almost a dead heat.
You're fooling yourself if you think this thing is over. You're just setting yourself up for heartache.

What about the people in MI and FL? It's not their fault their votes don't count.

I love that. "The will of the people." Great phrase. Did you come up with that all by yourself, or did it come in a package will all the other media sound bites that collectively form your limited understanding of the political process?

Yet he has a lead of 168 pledged, and there is no way that Clinton overtakes him.

Obama has won the contest for pledged delegates. He will probably have on the order of 140 more than HRC at the end of the primaries.

Assuming that to be the case, who should the party nominate?

GORE or EDWARDS.

Someone who ALL might agree on to WIN in November.

Read Hirsch's Op-ed in Newsweek..... how McCain might WIN if we continue to rear each other apart.

If you ever use reason and logic, you would not post. Take a moment and read what you wrote, then again I doubt you would want to put yourself through such an ordeal.

What are you talking about? He doesn't have enough delegates to win the nomination.

You're just acting like a bully and trying to deny people the right to their opinion.

I guess the Clinton campaign is trying to undo the peace that she is "not" responsible for:

"Extraordinary tirade today from Jamie Rubin, State Department assistant secretary in Bill Clinton's administration and now a Hillary Clinton advisor, who branded Lord Trimble of Lisnagarvey, formerly David Trimble, as a "crankpot" (presumably a cross between a crank and a crackpot) - and anti-woman to boot - for daring to call into question the former First Lady's Northern Ireland role.

Rubin also came dangerously close to suggesting that it is only Irish Catholics who matter, saying he was "pretty much the only one" questioning Hillary's Irish credentials. "He's a Protestant, they traditionally go with the Conservatives." Well, it's not true that Trimble (now a Conservative member of the House of Lords) is the only one scratching his head about Hillary's self-proclaimed Irish peace credentials. There have been many others, Protestant and Catholic. And I'm not sure that trashing a Nobel Prize winner or brushing aside what Protestants, the majority in Northern Ireland, think is really the way to go for the Clinton campaign on this issue."

It's sort of like watching someone who is 25 hours behind in a marathon try to finish with no shoes and only 1 leg. What's the point? You lost, you can't catch up, it's over. If you are truly the person you claim to be get behind our nominee and help us win in November!

Someone is going to end up owing a lot of money in the form of campaign refunds before this is all over. Possibly more than they have...

Last I saw, the Clinton campaign is in the red by 3 million and she doesn't pay her bills which runs close to 10 million. Obama on the other hand, Obama only owed 600k while still holding 30 million dollars.

Sorry, but the soul of the Democratic party has been taken over by neoliberals (if not neocons outright). It is time to take it back, and if intercine squabbles are necessary to do that, then so be it.

Actually, no. And this is a clipping from Reutters, sparky.

Obama is back ahead of Clinton among Dems nationwide, and is stronger than HRC against McBomb.

The polls, if averaged over the last two months, would indicate Obama wins the Nom and the General.

As soon as HRC gets out of the way Obama can start tearing down the facade that is the Straight Talk Express.

A new poll in California shows more voters now have a positive view of Obama despite Clinton's Super Tuesday win in the state
By Justin Ewers
March 27, 2008 excerpt below

"If the general election were held today, the poll indicates that Obama, not Clinton, would do better here: He polls at 49-to-40 percent over McCain, while Clinton-McCain is a statistical tie (46 percent of voters say they would support Clinton; 43 percent for McCain)."

Meanwhile, in other news...

McCain in double digits over both Dems

From Rasmussen:
***

"Looking ahead to the General Election in November, John McCain continues to lead both potential Democratic opponents. McCain leads Barack Obama 51% to 41% and Hillary Clinton 51% to 41% (see recent daily results). McCain is now viewed favorably by 56% of voters nationwide and unfavorably by 41%. Obama’s reviews are 46% favorable and 52% unfavorable. For Clinton, those numbers are 44% favorable, 54% unfavorable (see recent daily results). ..."
