stumble digg reddit del.ico.us news trust

During a recent interview, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) called Sens. John McCain (R-AZ) and Joe Lieberman (I-CT) "something special," recounting their recent trip abroad. He also claimed that people around the world view McCain as a "reassuring" presence, but later admitted that no one had a "McCain sticker" on their desk:

GRAHAM: Senator Lieberman, I think, is a national treasure, because no matter how you feel about his politics, he was willing to risk everything, politically, for a cause he believed in. But to see the interaction between these two guys and world leaders was something special. [...]

Lieberman => McCain's Vice Presidential candidate!!! I bet you money he is on the short list.

He'll definitely be in the Cabinet (probably as Secretary of State). But McCain needs someone to shore up the right-wing religious zealots that were GWB's base.

Much as they believe in supporting Israel unilaterally (getting ready for the rapture), I don't think that's enough of a reason for them to want Lieberman as the next in line to a guy who's 72 years old and not in very good health.

I'm sure that Larry Craig could commandeer a mountain in Idaho upon which his face and this motley trio's could be carved. Mount Rushmore from Hell.

I'd like to say that four more depraved and reprehensible plutocrats could not be imagined, but actually there's plenty more under the Republic Party rock.

Lieberman is an embarrassment to the nation, to me as a Jew, and to someone who says he has the best interests of Israel at heart which he does not ... he is nothing but a neo-liberal pig ... and pig is the operative word cause Lieberman walking around and hanging with Graham sure is not Kosher ...

Preemptive wars, torture, and spying on your citizens is not a treasure in the U.S.A.

coming from some-one who just soaked the united states for millions for a free trip and photo op, graham has no shame and less sense

I'm sure he was referring to the devaluation of the dollar. That is to say, Liberman is as worthless as our dollar is becoming.

Yeah, lets bury it.

Then let's stuff him, stick him in the Smithsonian for his admirers to genuflect before and move on.

I have not seen one McCain bumper sticker either!
But I see alot of Obama's and a few Hillary's.
And Graham and Joey are both sucking up to McCain for the VP job so look at what they both say about each other with a 'jaundiced eye'.

"because no matter how you feel about his politics, he was willing to risk everything, politically, for a cause he believed in."

Same could be said for Pol Pot, Mussolini, Hitler, Bin Ladin, Saddam Hussein, Stalin, Franco. You notice how in all these examples 'risk everything' primarily meant sacrificing the lives of others. Nice company Lieberman's in, eh?

Lindsey Graham should pull his head out of his ass BEFORE his next opportunity to publicly display his CLUELESSNESS.

Lindsay's attracted to them in a high-school girlish crush kind of way. Maybe he has a thing for the OMA.*

I beleive that there was a mistake in the quote. It should have read , "senator lieberman, I think, is a national disgrace...". That is all we need for pres. and v.p.... old and older.

Whew....when I read the headline on the main page, I thought they meant Bob Graham and said to myself, OMG...Bob Graham had a stroke. I'm glad to learn he is still in tip-top health.

As for Joe the Schmoe, I truly hope McCain does pick him as a running mate. then the people of Conn. won't have to wait 4 more years to get their revenge on the Turncoat.

If Old Joe is a National Treasure than we are more bankrupt than I thought.

Oh, my God. You just have to be absolutely shameless and without a conscience to be a lawyer and a politician.

Lieberman is only an (I) (D) to hold his position as Chairman of Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee. He's not a Democrat anymore.

These and other National Treasures belong in museums or on Antiques Roadshow.

Ha! What a priceless treasure, he should be locked up in some war museum with all the other obosolete status quo senators of mass destruction.
